This. Also keep in mind that when it had the opportunity in 1941, Thailand allied with Japan (albeit after the Japanese invaded) and tried to annex land from British Burma and French Indochina.

How about not fucking dying. Seriously, that was the biggest issue. Had Alexander lived and properly set up administration of the empire, it wouldn't have been torn apart so quickly or at all.

I'd have the Persians win

Seriously, there's no way that without the greeks democracy would have never made it, yeah they had the concept early on but it would have developed on its own, Persians on the other hand had a lot more to offer the world

The Sharpe books are the cringiest shit I've ever read

>And then Sharpe walked through the door and the beautiful Spanish girl said "Wow Mister Sharpe you are so tall (exactly six feet as I mentioned in the preivous page and the page before that one and the page before that one too) and also very handsome, I wish I could leave my husband and take your Enormous Anglo Cock into my sultry vagina." And the Spanish girl's husband, who was short and hunchbacked and had a hook nose and also a mole on his lip, said "Grr! I hate Sharpe because he is so brave and noble and I am weak and foreign!"
>>
>>3292442

Those were his first novels, I haven't read them but the Archer's Tale in the OP was written almost 20 years after the first Sharpe book, I imagine he improved quite a bit by then.

>The core idea of the responsibility to protect (often abbreviated as 'R2P' or 'RtoP'), as endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly at the 2005 World Summit, is that every state has the responsibility to protect its population from genocide and other mass atrocity crimes; the international community has a responsibility to assist the state if it is unable to protect its population on its own; and that if the state fails to protect its citizens from mass atrocities and peaceful measures have failed, the international community has the responsibility to intervene with appropriate measures, with coercive military intervention, approved by the UN Security Council, available as a last resort.

Do you agree?

>>
>>3292151
States may do what they want with their own inhabitants.

But States may also do what they want with other states. So if a nation wants to commit genocide, and other nations don't want it to, it must be able to defend itself from those other nations.

If it can't, it really has no right to do anything.

What's something positive that we CAN say about confederates? It seems like that particularly well gets dryer by the day.

I'll start:

They thought that their cotton industry would sustain them, even though other countries could not give two shits about them.
>what's so positive about that?
It was funny.
10 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
>>3292140
You're seriously underestimating the importance of the cotton industry to the South. Mississippi and Louisiana used to be the richest states in the Union.
King Cotton wasn't just a meme, Britain would delight in propping up a country hostile to the US, Europeans were just too busy stuffing around in Mexico.
>>
>>3292140

Six million European Jews and countless millions of Eastern European Slavs would still be alive if they had won because it would have prevented US intervention in WW1 and thus stopped the rise of the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.
>>
>>3292170

That's not something we can say about the confederates, it's something we could have said in your imaginary scenario.

Why do people idolize the vikings so much? I can't really understand it because Scandinavia didn't start contributing until after they were done with being viking pillagers.

Im from Argentina, I have read the diaries of the loli lover Juán Peron had, she was a low class starved girl yet she wrote better than the majority of current argentinian population.
Its not an anecdotical evidence, its a trend, people had a high regard of culture and morals.
>>
>>3292003
I think that the moral high point of humanity was Classical Greece, while the early 20th century was its cultural high point, but close enough.
