Can we talk about the history of the Organized crime?
Who was the more powerful organization at it's prime? Capone's mafia. Escobar's cartel, etc.
I'm really interested in this stuff though I don't know much about it and would like to read what another anon's have to say about this
>>3294531
That kind of depends on how broadly you're willing to define "organized crime." For the sake of discussion, let's say that "white collar" crimes are off the table.
>>3294548
Mafia
Russian Bratva
Yakuza
Triads
Cartel's
Black an Latino street gangs can also count I guess
Probably Escobars cartel.
Why didn't the Nazis conquer all of France? Did they fear the Gaul warrior?
>>3294530
>Following the Allied landings in French North Africa in November 1942, southern France was also militarily occupied by Germany and Italy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vichy_France
shit thread, shit meme.
There are no more Gaulese warriors and they were easily beaten by the Romans.

>It took the Royal Navy 4 months to sink a light cruiser that was cornered in a river delta
DEFEND THIS
Have you seen the delta on a map? Besides why bother sending a shallow draught up the river when Konigsberg can't move anyway?
Post stories and accounts of the 6th Army

I remember one german writing to his wife that he lost 3 of his fingers to frostbite and he couldn't play a piano anymore (he was a pianist before the war) so he decided he's going to kill himself and told her not to wait for him
>>3294485
>it's cold as fuck here.
THE 6TH ARMY WAS DISBANDED IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE BABI YAR MASSACRE AND SENT TO VARIOUS PUNITIVE BATTATIONS ACROSS THE EASTERN FRONT.
THERE EXISTS NOT A SINGLE DOCUMENT FROM PAULUS AFTER BABI YAR.
Is there any hope of saving China and it's people from decades of brainwashing? How could someone be totally okay with a government monitored internet and police state?
China needs free market capitalism.

Gas them, gas them all.
Theoretically there is nothing wrong with a massive surveillance state. Mandatory dna collection of all citizens, GPS tracking of all citizens via smartphone, and HD cameras ever 30 feet would cause a massive drop in violent crime.
Make it nigh impossible to get away with a murder or an assault. Can't see anything wrong with it personally. too many babbies read Orwell these days in middle school and consider a proper surveillance state to necessarily be the worst thing in the world.
Where are all the Burgaboos at? Let's kick this thread off with a simple question: who was the best Duke of Burgundy?
>Burgaboo
I bet you don't even know about a half of these.
>>3294491
Yes, I know about Burgundy at large but I find it more interesting to discuss item number 12 on that list.
What exactly is wrong with the system?
Speaking for western capitalism.
Growing wealth disparity. It needs to be reined in for the good of humanity.
>>3294392
What's wrong with Rich people being rich and poor people being poor?
Government interference, socialist policices.
Why is the Anglo-Iraqi war relatively so unknown? In high school I learnt of semi the Vichy French in the Middle East but Iraq was never once mentioned.
Especially such an a e s t h e t i c war
>>3294365
At least in general, fighting that is both
A) Outside of Europe
B) Against non-major powers
Tends to get ignored. Bet you didn't hear about the fighting in Gabon or Noumea either.
>>3294365
because it's impact in the grand scheme of WWII was absolutely minuscule. Iraq fell to a rebel group that aligned itself with the Axis, and lost to the British garrison in the area in 4 weeks before any real benefit could be seen by Germany and Italy.
Can we talk about something that has never been talked about before
About how in the Vietnam war America invented a new kind of warefare, a warfare that I like to call comfy war
>the music
>the drugs
>the banter
>the war crimes
>the weapons and vehicles
>the uniforms
>napalm
Everything about it was just so aesthetically pleasing. Wars before that had just been miserable, but this war was just so comfy and fun like a lads on tour holiday with killing thrown in as a bonus and that was not the end of it, the same thing happened in Iraq and Afghan. Is comfy war here to stay?
Are you retarded?
>>3294195
Is this a joke, OP?
I would consider the Seminole War more if a comfy war than Nam man
How the FUCK did he get away with it?
>>3294152
>haha nah I can totally resupply an enveloped army with transport planes, trust me
>>3294152

based Göring
I don't know if this belongs on /his/ or /int/ because it's based on language (therefore anthropology) but if this isn't the right board it'd be appreciated if mods can move it.
So does /his/ think this is a good thing? on one hand alot of West Africans read bbc so they should have a translation. On the other hand this "pidgin" seems to just be a poor rendering of phonetic English with little to no African admixture. At least in the USA news articles already write at 7th grade level. Do they really need to dumb down the English language even further to the level of a 3 year old? Shouldn't West Africans learn standard English?
Aren't most west Africans francophone?
It's not much of a change from English, and they can't put African words in there because of the huge diversity of African languages across ex English Colonies.
>>3294126
Also this? Scratching my head desu, seems like this is a bit of a waste of time
>in b4 /pol/ shits up the thread with accusations of MUH LIBRULL MEEDEEYUH

Nigeria and Liberia speak English.
Equality is a lie
This is a well known fact, but the whole problem is smeared ower by all sorts of racist/anti-racist, liberal/conservative ideological shitstorming
This is stupid and harmfull
Its not a question of racism, feminism or whatever the fuck, even if there is a reaction in many populations against the torents of liberal shit weve been subjected to in the past decades
Its just technicaly a lie, and everyone knows its a lie, people know this because they have experienced their own inadequacy, weaknes, faults and failures as well as those of others, because everyone who lives a life of any kind becomes intimately aquainted with the incapacity to change and develop beyond ones basic biological and cultural conditioning, because we know we are contingent and limited, and we all know we arent realy equal, we all know we cant do as well as some and some cant do as well as us and no ammount of willpower or 'hard work' can change that, because all living things behave in preset patterns that only change under force, necessity, shock and trauma
Each individual organism is different, and the major differences are precisely in our individual disfunctions, problematic tendencies and inherent lack, which is what constrains and dertermines the end results that we call our life, both individualy and collectively, we are not equaly able, we do not function or behave in the same way even in the same conditions, we do not all dispose of the same biologicaly inherent functions, capacities, traits or potentials let alone do we all posses the same formative experiences, learned skillsets and know how on how to use them or cope with the internal functioning of it all
>cont
>>3294077
If anything we are functionaly unequal in ways which are structured and systematic, each living system is in a sense a 'form-function' or compilation of same, each system is 'what it does', and it does this in relation to others, and these relations are structured mostly based on differences in forms and traits, functions and capacities, same as relations betveen sets of tools depend on what a tool is and what it does, as you cant realy saw wood with a hammer, or hammer nails with a saw, any more than a pair of testicles can generate egg cells or ovaries produce sperm
Far from being a proclamation of intollerance or racism, the assertion of the simple fact that equality is a lie should come from a profound understanding of ones own humanenes, of the frailty, arbitrarines and contingency of human life, a humble and compassionate acceptance of ourselves and others as things that are, such as they are, limited, mortal and deeply problematic, as is all life
>cont
Equality, in the political sense, just means everyone is treated the same under the law. It doesn't mean all people are the same. I think that you're deeply confused.
Please turn on spell check.
>>3294081
Even if we presuppose a sort of onthological equality, in the sense that 'each human is equaly a human' this remains a question of metaphisics and has no real practical baring on life
In fact the only forms in which equality can be said to exist are precisely those which are developed to cope with the lack of same in real life
Namely equality as a legal and political thing, institutionalised equality, based on constitutions and statutes, and social equality based on relations betveen individuals in a group, say, a group of friends, a group of coworkers or such
In these cases equality is actualy a necesary fabrication or a temporary state maintained for reasons that have to do with cooperation and lack of malign intent, but this is set up in such a way not to negate inequality, but precisely to help cope with it
In contemporary capitalist society equality has become a sort of normative, as if life is a factory job and we all get the same norms and quotas to fullfil, which follows the logic of a subject being usefull to the system as a worker/consumer and debitor, and as such is a androginous entity whos particular idiosincracies and disfunctions are not the systems problem
In the logic of all people within a system having theorethicaly the same opportunity or chance, it is implicit that all those who do not have the potential or capacity to reach the top 10% of whichever structure and then waste the rest of their lives serving max profit can basicaly go fuck themselves, because hey youve all been given equal rights right, why didnt you all just become CEO-s or made millions inventing some online fuckbook of somesort
But thats not life, thats not how living functions, its a lie
why did soldiers fall in love with nurses so often in we?

in ww1?
