I've recently gotten interested in this war due to its uniforms and aesthetic but i can't find any sources on the size of the companies, battalions, etc. I read that the american Company of the 1860s was made up of 8 two platoons with two sections each with two squads each but how did the german and french company look like in those years and how independent were they?

If any alien culture were to abduct let's say 5 people from earth that represented our culture from both a genetic and historical standpoint, what countries would they pick from?

Where did the meme that Mussolini was a mere brute, an idiot, come from?
Nearly everyone to whom I've mentioned him thinks of him as such, and defends that he is in a vehement manner. But if you study Mussolini for even a small period of time, one unearths constant evidence that he was well-trained in philosophy, had a good understanding of history, and was evidently very literate and capable of writing, himself. He was in touch with many Fascist intellectuals and defended their right to exist within the State, including characters such as Julius Evola who openly wrote against Italian Fascist policy.
Is it just senseless defamation?

Not at all an expert nor am I well read on this. But here is what I know:
Basically, the Phoenicians and Greeks have been present in the coasts of the Iberian peninsula for a long time. When the Romans came they basically assimilated the local paganism like they did everywhere else.
And it probably wasn't that hard to assimilate since all European paganism/legends/mythology come from the same Indo-European root pantheon.

I'm not a cartesian dualist/soul guy. I'm a property dualist, I'm also a little sympathetic towards epiphenomenalism, but obviously that's a hard pill to swallow.
Anyways, it's inconceivable to me how unconscious physical processes can lead to a conscious, inner experience. I find it hard to believe that our inner experience either A. doesn't exist, or B. arises from a bunch of tiny robots.
