Did Jesus exist? I don't care if he was the son of god, i just want to know if there is any historical evidence (besides the Bible) of his existance.

There isn't.

Tacitus provides a non-Christian confirmation of the crucifixion of Jesus.
Is it true that hunter-gatherers were the first "affluent society"?
They worked very little to fulfill their needs, and had more leisure time than the average human alive today. What makes their way of life undesirable?
Would you be comfortable with a return to this lifestyle?
>>3317004
>Would you be comfortable with a return to this lifestyle?
No problem. Of course I would regret things like books or far away trips, but I think life would be more tasteful and human relations more interesting.
Ok, I would be bored fast, but's that's only because I'm used to my current lifestyle. I'd like to give a try seriously.
with all of the comforts of today I think nobody (or at a very little amount of people) would really be comfortable with a return to this lifestyle. And to say they worked very little is not an honest image of the society. Sure they didn't sit at desks all day or picked up the trash or whatever. But the survival as a group (the hunting, the gathering, the preperations all year through to get ready for winter, survive it and do it again the year after) is a tremendous example of work (teamwork) co dependence, thinking of your feet, more so than when a client changes there demands last minute or something. They worked just enough to fulfil their needs, but who is to say they didn't have goals. they were already humans so it is likely they were goal orientated in some way. Today we are somewhat blinded of what are real needed is since society is so being and the world is globalised. Need no, is febracted, created in some sense..
the interest you show with this question is nice to see. But when dealing with the past, keep in mind that you should be aware of copy pasting todays society on a society of at least 10.000 years ago that was and remains vastly different.

Red pill me on Atlantis /his/?
Myth built on myth built on myth. Last I heard it was originally a Greek polis at the mouth of the Nile where they are uncovering a sunken city which would exist at the same time as Troy and rival it.
mix of memories from before the bronze age collapse, mainly the sea peoples and santorini eruption

they spoke some form of lingue de oil which is a dialect close to french as opposed to occitan in southern france.

They refer to themselves as French in the Bayeux Tapestry and London charter.

Where did this symbol originate? What is it supposed to mean? How old is it? I've been researching it a bit here and there, but haven't been able to extensively look. It spans across ancient civilizations that would sculpt, carve, and draw it into many different works of art and architecture. The earliest date I read was on Wikipedia at 15,000 years ago in Ukraine, but I want to see if anyone else has a better source. It just seems very interesting how this symbol is repeated in ancient civilizations reaching from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and even the Americas.
Before anyone says aliens, STFU, this isn't /x/ and I want a serious discussion on it.

So what happened at Dunkirk? I know this board is brutally honest and really doesn't take any of the false myths so did Hitler let them go for a peace offer or they just couldn't crush that pocket?
Also if Hitler managed to capture/kill all of them or atleast like 90% of them would that be the ending of the british army? I mean the whole B.E.F captured or killed which is the nucleus of the british land forces. If this happens does even Italy steamroll them in Africa? Or with german support? Also would the brits even have the will to fight on seeing the germans have now more than 200.000 POW's?
>>3316715
Plucky Brits managed to evacuate from Dunkirk while smelly frogs cowered in fear and even those that were evacuated to Britain went back to France so they wouldn't have to keep fighting. It showed the world that Brits are capable of great feats and are willing to keep on the fight no matter what.

>So what happened at Dunkirk? I know this board is brutally honest and really doesn't take any of the false myths so did Hitler let them go for a peace offer or they just couldn't crush that pocket?
It's more that the resources that would have been necessary to crush the pocket quickly were considered to be more valuable pursuing the rest of the French line as it was falling back. After all, traditional German doctrine said that infantry (slower elements) should mop up pockets, and besides, the Luftwaffe destroyed most of the docks early on; they didn't think teh British would be able to evacuate as quickly as they did.
>Also if Hitler managed to capture/kill all of them or atleast like 90% of them would that be the ending of the british army?
No. The BEF was roughly 10 divisions, and the British had a lot more than that. It would have hurt them, especially in training more units, but it wouldn't have put them out of the war.
>.If this happens does even Italy steamroll them in Africa?
No. Most of the "British" British forces in Egypt were there from before the war; and most of the reinforcements that came in come 1941 were either from India or Australia. It would have more of an effect come 1942, but that gets harder to predict.
> Also would the brits even have the will to fight on seeing the germans have now more than 200.000 POW's?
What kind of stupid question is that? Of course they would. What possible basis would you say that the British would throw in the towel for that?

Which theories about the Basques are there and which are most probable?
>>3316660
Not knowing a whole lot about the subject, I mostly subscribe to the theory that they're a remnant of a pre-PIE peoples who live in such a remote region that the early PIE settlers and celtiberians never really overran them, the Romans never imposed on them, and then the Arabs never conquered them, after which they were a distinct part of Spain like they are today.
>>3316660
Remnant of Neanderthals.

and which are most probable?
Not aliens
So recently I've been reading an obscure hungarian book, Sons of the Iron by Janos Kodolanyi, a book about life in 13th century Hungary, and Joseph and His Brothers by Thomas Mann.
What caught my attention was how both books were about deeply religious people, yet none of them had qualms about owning slaves.
My question is: how did this attitude form when owning slaves IMO are conflicting with religious tenets? What do you think about this?
Take note that both books featured slaves of the same race as the owner, so it's a little different than the attitude was in the US about owning blacks.
>>3316655
The Bible is A-ok with slavery
>>3316668
>All slavery for the past 6000 years is American whites treating African blacks as chattel.
The ignorance on this board is overwhelming.
>>3316655
The Catholic Church has a very complicated relationship with slavery, for the most part people just saw it as a part of life, but it really depends on what you mean by slavery. Honestly you'd probably be better off finding a good book on the subject.
Generally speaking in the Middle Ages the idea of enslaving a Christian was not okay, but enslaving non-Christians was seen as acceptable, though subject to certain restrictions.

Geo-politically China of-course, soon to be, if not already the worlds most powerful nation, a position it has occupied historically; of the ten bloodiest wars in human history, five have been Chinese civil wars.
Culturally India, birthplace of all major non-abrahamic religions.
