Never. Fascism will rise again, and nobody will forget something that was already difficult to forget without a resurrection.

It will always be associated with Hitler but it will become socially acceptable anyway, kind of like how Hitler youth haircuts are fashionable now with millenials.

Can we have a discussion about Hibernophobia?

Both as a historical phenomenon/from a historiographical perspective, and in general, as a current phenomenon (both on 4chan and IRL).

As an Irishman, I've noticed a lot of antipathy/hostility towards my people on this and other boards. I want to know where it stems from. Especially when it comes to historical/geopolitical memes, to say nothing of the contents of some posts in themselves. Like "polandball" for example. We very rarely come up, but it's almost always in a rather mean-spirited context not unlike a 19th century Punch cartoon.

Do you hate the Irish? If so, why? What did we ever do to you?

For me, American white trash tend to take specific pride in being Irish(perhaps they mean Scots-Irish?). Irish people themselves tend to be civil, wealthy and modern so I hold nothing against them.
Also consider other things like Catholicism, IRA and historical poverty and urban nature of the Irish in the Anglosphere for the hatred from other people.

>Throughout Buddhist art, Bodhidharma is depicted as an ill-tempered, profusely-bearded, wide-eyed non-Chinese person. He is referred as "The Blue-Eyed Barbarian" (Chinese: 碧眼胡; pinyin: Bìyǎnhú) in Chan texts.[10]
>White people LITERALLY taught Chinese about Buddhism
>Chinese people turned it into a spiritual-less, Taoism-influence pile of filth obsessed with bullshit like "Elixirs of life"
>Chinese people today actually believe they invented Buddhism and its "deepness" is proof of how superior they are

Really fires up the old brain cells.

>>Chinese people today actually believe they invented Buddhism and its "deepness" is proof of how superior they are

this isn't at all true is it? I'm sure they are very aware of its Indian or trans-Himalayan origin. I don't know anything about the penetration of Buddhism into China, was it through central Asia, across the Himalayas or via Indochina and the sea?
>>
This kinda falls into the same shaky territory as Evola's ideas about Aryan Buddhism. It is most likely that Bodhidharma did not exist as an actual historical figure but was a composite of the teachers of the time, and reflective of the spread of ideas. Historical accounts on the Buddha's actual appearance are mostly unreliable - the same sources that describe him as a light skinned person will also describe kings with ten heads. It's not far fetched to assume that he was good looking, as powerful historical figures tend to be, and that there were variations in skin tones between castes and he could belong to a lighter skinned family, but I really think this whole thing reeks of racist nonsense. The actual Buddhist teachings don't concern skin color in the least,

Initially the US was gonna let the Chinese fight it out man on man.

Many state department diplomats thought we could win back China by pushing it away from Stalinism and towards Leninism.

Around early 1950 that changed though since Mao and Stalin signed a friendship treaty.

Come June 1950, and Truman had a big problem of Republicans screaming COMMIE at his State Department/everyone semi-leftist. With the start of the Korean war, he didn't want another conflict to worry about so he put a couple fleets near Taiwan.

That convinced the PRC that America was hostile and to intervene in North Korea.

I've become fascinated with the late Roman emperor known as Julian "the Apostate." His life story is fascinating and bizarre, but suffice to say that when he inherited the throne in 361 AD, he was young (29 years old), intelligent, diligent, an able administrator, and a skilled general. He was raised as a Christian, but had converted to philosophical paganism in adulthood. He made it his life's mission to eradicate Christianity, but only through non-violent means.

But his ambitions were cut short due to his sudden death, less than two years into his reign. To me, his reign has always been the most tantalizing "what-if" scenario in all of history. Could he have succeeded in reversing the growth Christianity? Could he have prevented the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, by saving us from the catastrophically incompetent emperors who came immediately after him?

What do you think?

Here is a short timeline to remind everyone about the main events:

>c.300 AD
Experts estimate that only about 7-10% of the Roman population is Christian at this point, and they are mostly centered around several urban areas in the east.

>324 AD
Constantine becomes sole emperor, and begins to openly practice Christianity. He founds the new imperial capital of Constantinople in Christian territory, and convenes a massive council of Christian bishops to reorganize the church and establish a unified doctrine.

>361 AD
Constantine's nephew, Julian, inherits the throne. He reopens pagan temples, withdraws funding from the Christian churches, and begins restructuring the pagan faith. He writes a lengthy, scathing critique of Christianity, known as "Against the Galileans," which was so thorough that it was widely considered to be irrefutable. He happily invites all Christian exiles back into the empire with open arms, knowing full well that there heretics would cause intense in-fighting among the different denominations. He supports the Jews in planning to reconstruct the great Temple of Jerusalem, knowing that this would disprove a key prophecy made by Jesus. He bans Christian teachers from teaching the classical pagan texts, essentially preventing them from getting the education necessary to rise up in the government. And these are just a few of his tactics.

>363 AD
After a rapid string of victories in his war against Persia, Julian is unexpectedly struck by a stray javelin during a skirmish and dies.

>after 400 AD
By this point, many pagan practices have been outlawed on pain of death. Christianity has spread across the entire empire, and paganism is only followed by the most sincere philosophers.
