Is there any crazier war in history than the Russian civil war?
>>2561678
The Great War that spawned it
>>2561678
World War II in China was extremely complicated.
>>2561758
I especially loved that time when the Chinese flooded their land to try and slow down the Japanese but only managed to kill millions of their civilians.
Why do people wholeheartedly believe in blatant bullshit?
i mean, like, blatant blatant bullshit.
Because it was recorded, kept, and passed down for centuries? Maybe the Muslims have it right, there is a fucking REASON these tales existed in the first place: every Abrahamic religion that claims to have come into contact with God is telling the truth.
>>2561456
what blatant bullshit do you mean?
the biblical story
or the popular notion that kain and abel fucked their mother?
>>2561490
Who did they fuck if not their mother?the bible doesn't mention sisters.
Can /his/ defend the emphasis on reason and logic in the modern age? What makes rationality more suitable for humanity than faith, tradition or instinct?
Consider:
Nothing in and of itself can be rational. There is no 'reason' for anything by itself. Reason and logic are simply the most effective ways of relating two concepts, like relationships between two objects or between an individual and a goal.
With this in mind humans will never ever be rational, not really. We want what we want for purely natural reasons and will continue to do so. Any entity running purely on rationality ceases to exist as a being as there is no reason to do anything
>why eat? to live
>why live? to breed
>why breed? to create
>why create? b-because
Logic and reason should be seen as the 'means' they are, not the 'ends' the scientific institution attempts to characterise them as
Why devalue the unequivocally irrational motives for our actions? Without them there would be no need for more logical reasoning
It can help define your ends. Who would stop worshiping Moloch and start worshiping Yahweh if they believed absolute faith was the most important thing ever?
>>2561510
I suppose however the comparison of the pair would be clinical and irrelevant to the individual without inherent preset bias towards one outcome or the other.
While logic is extremely important the pressence of irrational, preprogrammed or nurtured traits seems relatively ignored in how the west now approaches the human condition.
>>2561447
its dificult to understand this, the brain quite literaly rejects this, especialy in males, since nothing makes useful sense to the logical mind if it dosent somehow make logical sense, but other than banal 2+2=4 bits of absurd info about reality, nothing actualy makes any logical sense
the rattional brain, or, whichever parts of it perform the cognitive functions that are involved in being rattional, or at least being capable of being rattional on occasion, are truly tools, biological mechanisms the function of which is to help with solving problems, same as opposable thumbs or eye muscles, but they are very powerful tools, so much so that they often dictate how a organism approaches all of reality, by the logic of ''if all you got is a hammer...''
this results in a sort of paradox, namely that, as the logical mind attempts to approach every thing as a sort of problem to be solved or understood, as a thing to be systemised and controlled or in some other way physicaly or conceptualy neutralised or processed, the human being is damned to eternal frustration since reality is made up of absolutely nothing rattional, truly solvable or even meanigfull beyond basic crude physiological necesity that the rattional mind exists to service
in a sense, if these are 'means', there are no corresponding 'ends', not realy, not in the longrun, since in all of existence there is no rational, logical 'end'
so the 'means' themselves are pseudorattional, not just cause of that whole discrepancy, but moreso because the organism itself is a irrational byproduct of selfless chaos, and the brain is no different, so the forces that drive this frustration, this autistic need to mentaly grasp objects and reduce them to something logical, is basicaly just nternal neurosis, negation, inability to accept shit as is, mainly because it is shit
rattionalisation is then just a basic psychological defence mechanism, even a healthy one at times
the only other way is to die inside
Are these the the 9 races that exist?
>>2561405
>African is one race
East Asians are extra Neanderthal.
/pol/ really struggles to comprehend this and they get massively upset if you try to tell them that Europeans aren't descended from Neanderthal women who had sex with African men.
>>2561405
What are non-Eurooean caucasoids and why are they so near genetically speaking to Europeans?
How does Monotheism triumph over Polytheism?
>>2561221
Better organization gives an advantage in large-scale conflict and proliferation.
>>2561221
>East Asia
>Non-religious
>>2561221
Japan is a Buddhist country. Not non religious, dumb ass.
Was Persia Better under Zoroastrian or Islamic rule?
Well people didn't torture dogs for fun under Zoroastrian rule so...
>>2561134
There is literally no evidence for this lack of torture
Islamic
Marx said that successful communist revolutions can only happen in developed industrialized nations like Germany, Britain, or the USA, because class consciousness was high there.
Instead, they happened in backwater agricultural shitholes like China and Russia.
Doesn't this directly refute Marx and historical materialism?
marx definitely didn't foresee the appeal communism would have to people who were still living as peasants in the 20th century
>>2561002
If it happened in an agricultural society, it wasn't real communism.
The workers saw what the cuckitalism has done to its population, hence they seize the means before the monopoly of corporatism.
Are Mexicans is still somehow have some aztec blood in them?
SO YOU BE SAYIN
>>2560964
All their women decided to fuck the conquerors and be part of a huge conquistador harems instead of reproducing with their males. Pure Aztecs don't exist
There's aztecs alive today, language and all.
What are your thoughts on Stefan Molyneux? Through this anarcho-capitalist I have been exposed to other great thinkers like Joseph Campbell, Jordan Peterson, and Carl Jung. Here is a link to his podcast if you would like to take a listen for yourself.
http://www.fdrpodcasts.com
Here is a pretty good link from Jordan B. Peterson about depth psychology. Very interesting stuff. Do you guys study much philosophy, epistemology, and logic?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw7NvWvwVCA
Here is another series where Joseph Campbell describes the mythological structure and mans relationship with myth.

Jordan B Peterson has been catching a lot of flack from SJWs regarding his unwavering stance on using the appropriate pronouns mandated by Canadian government to refer to trans-gendered individuals. Here is a link of him showing the patience of a god. Kind of difficult to watch but you get the idea of what he is dealing with.

BC/AD or BCE/CE and why?

BC/AD because that's the way I was raised and it's habit at this point

France had an enormous communist movement from the 1850s until the fucking 1970s, with failed communist takeovers in 1871 and 1968. In 1946, the French Communist Party won a 28% plurality in parliament. They pulled around 20% in every legislative election until 1981.
With such an impressive history, why did communism never succeed in France?
>>2560799
Because it's never succeeded anywhere?
good movie
You could also ask why was communism so popular in France?
name a single thing he did wrong
Be unpopular
Pissed off the Senate
he just looked like shit compared to the people before and after
not his fault
Karl Marx was a fat lazy piece of shit who didn't want to go to work so he made up a political theory that got billions of innocent people killed.
ever heard the word 'zeitgeist'?
Martin Luther was an autist with no real understanding that actions have also consequences, leading to some nobles using his autism to chimp out against their fellow man.
>>2560248
Martin Luther did nothing wrong
I'm interested in the idea of England. How did it come about? What role did the Viking raids and the Norman conquest have on the concept of England?
>>2560177
First the neolithic people then the beaker folk (they brought beakers) then Celts who got invaded by the Anglo Saxon who forced them into shitty Ireland, Cornwall, Wales, and the isle of Man. Then Danes (scandavians) invaded for for the next while, and also the Romans were there up until 410 annum dominos pizza. Then 1066 William the conqueror btfo two Anglo dudes who wanted to be king and was king for a bit while also being Duke of Normandy. Then some other stuff, and now Jezza. You're welcome and read a book
>>2560177
God exists, he is a Saxon by nature.
>>2560177
>the Norman conquest
You can say French, you know
No need to specify the region
What was this absolute madman's endgame after escaping Elba? Did he even have a chance of returning to his former glory?
The people were already turning against him
>>2560175
One big huge victory and then signing a peace that will let him reign. The coalition was never going to agree to this though.
>>2560223
Not really, dude took back the whole country without firing a shot due to how popular he was
