I've been described as soulless. This was by someone who said I wear too much beige. I also think I'm anhedonic.

Should I do anything about this?

See a psychologist, my friend. Anhedonia and depressed affect could be early signs of schizophrenia (or depression, like 99 percent of 4chan).

The argument is should humans stay in their ancestral homeland.

Is it a nice thought to know your ancestors have been around same animals and plant as you? Hearing bird chirps that your are embedded in your DNA. Foreign bird sounds is unnatural to you.

They tested some new world civilians and played old world bird sounds and they reacted positively to hearing them like an old memory.

Why does English has so much Latin influence? French I can understand, but where did the Latin influence come from? Roman Empire? Did the Anglo-Saxons prior to the Norman invasion already speak a hybrid language?

Do we know when marriage and long-term partnerships started becoming a norm? Were rape and hookups by the local Alpha Males a constant thing until Abrahamic religions in the west/central and Hinduism/buddhism in the east?

>Do we know when marriage and long-term partnerships started becoming a norm?
Not for certain. That kind of thing is pretty much impossible to figure out.

>Were rape and hookups by the local Alpha Males a constant thing until Abrahamic religions in the west/central and Hinduism/buddhism in the east?
Probably not. Ethnographic studies of hunter-gather groups have shown that monogamous relationships are pretty common in those kinds of societies.

What are the historical reasons for banning chemical weapons use internationally?

I'm trying to think of the reasons why but the only reason that make sense to me is that it's about controlling power. Chemical weapons are attainable to smaller powers unlike powerful missiles and nukes. If chemical weapons weren't internationally banned then those smaller powers would be more of a threat to the large powers. Is that accurate? Is the whole idea of those weapons being so terrible just propaganda that hides the true reason of power control?

Just because they lumped them in with NBC, nuclear biological and chemical.

Chemical is the baby brother of those three; really nobody wants to see nukes go off.

chemical weapons were banned in warfare before nuclear bombs existed.
>>
>>2658028

>What are the historical reasons for banning chemical weapons use internationally?
Because chemical weapons are of severely limited use for anything other than terror purposes. They're only really more effective than conventional things at attacking a group of people who are enclosed somewhere, otherwise you're probably better off with just a bomb or a bunch of bullets. States don't really approve of that sort of thing, so they try to outlaw chemical weapons.

>If chemical weapons weren't internationally banned then those smaller powers would be more of a threat to the large powers. Is that accurate?
No, it is not accurate. No chemical weapon yet known is great at facing people who are in the open, spread out, and have gas masks. They'd be all but useless in conventional war against a great power, outside maybe one or two time surprise value if they weren't prepared against such.

Hello, /his/ I've recently been studying Ancient Greece antiquity and I keep on coming upon this design on Hoplite/Warrior shields. What does it represent? What's the backstory on this design? It's almost always a bearded man's face with his tongue sticking out. I'm quite curious!

This is Tzar Kaloyan. On this day 812 years ago he had a friendly chat with the Latin emperor Baldwin I of Flanders and persuaded him to come with him to his capital so he could die. Say something nice about Kaloyan.

Was the red army a effective fighting force 1920s era?

Mixed bag. They obviously beat the White Army, but they still had a lot of officers who didn't trust tanks and wanted to use lots of cavalry charges.

Also, it seems like (I don't know this for a fact) that they were over-extended when they got to Warsaw.

Video related.

I'm confused on the Turco-Mongol cultural synthesis/tradition. Were the two cultures even that different from each other in the first place? Did they offer complementary elements like the Turco-Persian tradition? Where did the title Khan come from?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.

Same ancestors, then got different by language and living style. Mongols went east, Turks a little west. To the Altaic mountains.

Khan coming from Turkish word "Kagan" and stuff like that. Turks were more dominant until collapse of their great khanates, and most of them migrated to western lands. mongols took the power but kept Turkish monarch and military traditions. Not very different btw but you can see the difference clearly.
>>
>The ruler of the Xiongnu was called the Chanyu later refined by Rouran as "Khan"
>The Yenisei Kirghiz Khagans claimed descent from Xiongnu (Chinese Li Ling + daughter of the Xiongnu Khan)
>Xiongnu are Mongoloids
>Xiongnu used Chanyu/Khanyu title synonymous with Khan
>it is suggested that Indo-European Wusun used the royal title "Kunmi"
>Beckwith specifically suggests an Indo-Aryan etymology of the title Kunmi
>IE word Kunmi possibly the root for Khan
>Hun = Khan = Hunnu = Xiongnu = Hunya = Chanyu = Kunmi (similar shit)

>Huns were in fact descendants of the Northern Xiongnu who migrated westward

>the title “Khan“ was original to the Rourans
>The region experienced a Mongolification and was eventually occupied predominantly by peoples showing Mongoloid features, known from their skeletal remains and artifacts

tl;dr Scythians transferred their technology/skills/culture to Mongoloids and then got erased by them

historically speaking, it's the society that forms the ethnic group, as ethnic groups aren't defined genetically but culturally or lingustically
>>
>>2657687
Do you think slaves integrated more easily in ancient times because most people were pagan worshipers and were form a close geographical area so looked at least somewhat similar?
>>
Just because you can breakdown ethnicities to specific regional tribes doesn't mean it doesn't real.
