Why did the Mongols liked christians more than the muslims?
>>2665131
That is a good question!
You would think that being able to have many wives and take land for religious cause would have been suiting to The mongols for their raider like attitude. Similar to what the Turks adopted.
I'm not too sure, but it would make a killer alt his topic if the Mongols did convert to Islam instead.
I havent the slightest why they choose Christianity.
>>2665131
I don't know, maybe because they weren't a major contending force. They later adopted Islam after analyzing it's benefits.
They did attack eastern Europe a number of times.
Booze, same with Russians.
Is Christianity white ?
>>2665082
It's caucasoid for the most part. The New Testament and liturgical bits and art could be considered white.
>>2665082
Yes and no.
>>2665122
I think the christian nonwhites should be redpilled enough so that they leave christianity and stop being so dependent to whites' thing
Here is a picture of Irish High King Brian Boru in an Irish show being played by a black Nigerian man.
The term "Black Irish" was coined for a reason.

What is a good book about the history of socialism/communism prior to Marx? It seems odd to me that socialists/communists existed before him since they use him for support now.

Socialism leads to communism but they're different
Socialism is really just high taxation allowing frequent government intervention for the better
Whilst communism is Marxism-Leninism evolved, and mandates complete redistribution of wealth. Bolsheviks and Mensheviks differ along whether society needs a bourgeois democracy before reaching the final stage of human evolution, communism

Hehe have you even once redistributed any of your wealth to a total stranger?
You really should go do that before demanding that I do you know.

What book explain the reason and general signs and patterns of the rise and fall of empires or nations?
I hear pic related is quite good but most threads on /lit/ talking about it usually say the opposite.
So what other books are there?
I think the search for general theories about the rise in fall of nations is unnecessary. It just becomes so watered down if you want it to apply to most situations that is effectively meaningless. Jared Diamond in particular reties too much on geographic determinism in his book. He down plays human agency too much.
>>2664686
No book can provide a 'general law' for the development of all societies throughout history. Pic related is as close as you can get for the reasons why they fall.
There is an interesting collection called Macrohistory and Macrohistorians which covers the attempts of thinkers including Ibn Khaldun, Sima Qian, Hegel, Vico, Marx, Spengler, Max Weber, and Toynbee to describe patterns in history. At the back of the book is a series of graphs representing various thinkers' models.
History cannot be reduced to a formula.
Was there really exists a secret order that ruling the world from the shadows?
>>2664673
Do hablo Engles?
Yes it's called the Jews
There are thousands of secret orders and they're all pulling against each other and disrupting each other's impetus.
It's like the crabs in a bucket. One make progress and almost reaches a goal and the rest of the crabs drag it back down.
Problem is all the groups are so entrenched that we can't escape them. It makes existence very nuanced and inefficient.

How many members of the RCC are on 4chan I wonder? I think it'd be cool to discuss some religious topics with somewhat lime-minded people.
Were you raised Catholic ("indoctrinated" as many use in the pejorative? or did you come into your faith later on, on your own initiative without having a religious background? The latter is true for me, I decided to join the church after a great deal of reading and personal reflection.
How do your peers generally regard your religion? Do they find it interesting? unimportant? are they scornful of it?
What are the biggest obstacles to the true realization of your faith?
Who are your favorite Catholic authors? I plan to name my (first) son Austin after St. Augustine.
Hope we can have a productive and edifying discussion :)
My only major quibble about the Catholic Church is the insistence on the perpetual virginity of Mary. I just don't buy it. That's all that's stopping me from being baptised.
>>2663776
How do you come to terms with the Trinity?
I can't go back to the faith because it makes no damn sense.
>>2663791
"The Trinity is a mystery which cannot be comprehended by human reason, but is understood only through faith and is best confessed in the words of the Athanasian Creed which states that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity, neither confusing the Persons nor dividing the Substance, that we are compelled by the Christian truth to confess that each distinct Person is God and Lord, and that the deity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is One, equal in glory, co-equal in majesty."

The catholic church became an instrument of Satan. That is why the Catholic church killed so many for seeking the truth by reading the real words of God.
Catholics in every country tend to be very centrist. Tony Blair and Tim Kaine are good examples of this. While church dogma and guilt keeps Catholic voters more socially conservative, the global nature of the church pushes it's followers to be more internationalist too.
Tell me about the Soviet-Afghan War. Was it comparable to the Vietnam War?
yes, but even worse since in a way it helped speed up the collapse of the USSR.
>>2663575
Not really, no. It was at about a tenth of the scale, and puts to lie any notion that America is particularly casualty averse.
>>2663575
in some ways yes.
but in other ways, like soviet units using hinds to raid farms for chickens, it's just slavs beings of slav.
What are some of your favorite uniforms throughout history, /his/?
I think this reproduction of a WWI-era German Uhlan is pretty greart, for instance.

I never understood the difference between Uhlans, Hussars, Dragoons, etc... in World War I? Did they still do different things by that time?
Actually did mounted cavalry really hace much of a combat role in WWI? I've seen photos of soldiers from World War I mounted on horseback with lances, but how were those effective against machine guns and rifles? Did the cavalrymen of the Great War also carry rifles or carbines or pistols? Did they have sabres?
I think I read somewhere that on the western front that all types of cavalry were dismounted to fight in the trenches and such early in the war, but they continued to be used on horseback in the east. Is that true? How could they be effective with lances even in the east when firearms were in play? Or did they ditch those for guns soon too?
WWI cavalry outside of the middle eastern theaters and using horses for mobility of material makes sense, but outside of that I don't get their use at all. Can anyone here on /his/ explain World War I lancer/uhlan/cavarly's use to me when there were machine guns and trenches and firearms everywhere?
