Just made my first foray to shall-not-be-named chan and saw this.
How accurate is it?
>>2681754
Well if you put it like that ..
Women's skull part was funny honestly, if i belive any of those conspiracy theories, i belive that he escaped from Berlin and went off somewhere, it's only logical
>>2681754
>How accurate is it?
Not at all.
>>2681754
Stormfront propaganda/10
So it's not
To be fair, Rhodesia isn't that bad. It was considered to be the only first world country in Africa despite sanctions from other countries and used to be called 'Bread Basket of Africa' until Mugabe took power.
>>2681654
Rhodesia aesthetic as fuark
>>2681654
>only first world country in Africa
First world countries don't have income disparities as big as Rhodesia had. Mugabe rule is still worse, though.
>>2682596
Fine, it was a selectively first world country then
Were noblemen a literal mafia or what?
no, they were a figurative one
>>2681419
every country is ruled by crime families
there are some similarities, they had no police protection so they had to rely on honor/respect, they had a realpolitik attitude and respected the balance of power without constant whinging and whining like leftists, they had a hierarchy where lower ranks were free to do what they wanted with their business but had to fulfil obligations to the boss and the group to prevent conflict
Some claim that evolution and natural selection are morally degrading ideas, but what if the opposite was true?
>>2680860
They aren't,
because our morality ist based on protecting the weak, not exterminating them
>biological ethics
I want to smash the author's face with a baseball bat desu
>Hurr durr, everything is just a chemical reaction in a monkey brain, we shud do whatever we want
Any commited atheist is a sack of shit. Only agnostics and theists can be respectable people.
wtf was Hitler's problem? Why did he have to chimp out and ruin Europe?
dude jews lmao
>>2680204
wtf is your problem? Why did you have to chimp out and ruin the thread?
>>2680204
Germans were systematically opressed
#Checkyouranglopriveledge
Why are Rwandans so good at fighting wars?
I hope I'm uploading the right image
They're the only country in the region that has a functional military.
>>2679601
*only country in the region that's functional
Why does mainstream academia wish to remove God from the classroom and instill relative morality in their students (among other things)?
Because you don't need religion to have morality.
>>2677444
Probably because of inherent bias of their part. I'm an agnostic who swings more towards atheism, and I love hearing about religions and their interpretation of objective truths. I think it does a great disservice to the students who leave education without a proper understanding of the cultures who built most of our modern institutions.

What is your favorite weapon from history? I'd post this on /k/ but I feel like I'd get a better response here.
I like the gladius a lot, I think it looks really cool but still seems really practical.
>>2674635
>250+ posts about whether it was for stabbing or slashing
BOTH YOU IDIOTS
>>2674649
yeah i really dont want the thread to turn into that
Let's talk about the Soviet–Afghan War /his/
>>2673993
No.
It's a Shit
Fun tidbit - there are soldiers from the Baltics who fought in both the Soviet, and the NATO war in Afghanistan.
>>2673996
How is it a shit
Been a while since we had one.
Is there any actual evidence that modern day Greeks, Italians, Spaniards, and Near Easterners don't look about the same as they did in Antiquity?
>>2665446
None.
Also "mediterranean looks" aren't a thing.
Near easterners don't look like greeks, nevermind like italian and spaniards.
>>2665446
Paintings and sculptures from that period.
Greeks have received some Slavic and Turkish admixture.
Italians have now a fair deal of Gothic, Lombard and Norman genes.
Spaniards are much more African, Jewish and Arabian than they were in Roman times.
Near Easterners have absorbed plenty of Arabian, African and Mongol DNA.
I'm probably missing some 'contributions'.
Titanic sank exactly 107 years ago tomorrow
>Largest ship in the world at launch
>Carried some of the richest people in the world at the time
>More than 1500 people die during the sinking
>Worst marine disaster in history for a passenger liner
>Wreck is being eaten away by bacteria
>Superstructure is starting to collapse
>Stern Section is little more than a rubble heap already
>Soon there's just going to be a rust colored stain on the sea which marks where one of the greatest liners in the world rested
Why does time chip away at everything ;_;
Also, Titanic general I guess seeing as the Anniversary is coming up.

Nature reigns supreme, you you industrialist bourgeois swine! All must wither and eventually be crushed by her great hands.
Good and evil are meaningless when time kills all.
Can we get another /hislit/ thread going? I need a good book recommendation on WW1.
Just finished A Place of Greater Safety, definitely recommend it to anybody interested in guillotines.
>>2647305
Also recommend:
The Guns of August
The Sleepwalkers
The Myth of the Great War
A World Undone
>>2648668
Looks like the thread's going to die, but thanks, Anon.
Ordered two of your recommendations.
If you want a memoir you can't do any better than this. Pic related.
Karl Marx was a complete joke, though I like the ideas but it was physically impossible.
xD
very insightful post OP really made me think
I'm a philosophical novice, but I'm already tired of fucking thought experiments. It seems that every time an author reaches a reasonable conclusion, some smartass proposes some batshit insane scenario and thereby claims to "refute" the case. For example, philosophical zombies:
>Rational Man: Only the physical exists.
>Smartass: But what if zombies who imitated humans perfectly existed? PHYSICALISM BTFO!!!!!
I mean, come the fuck on. If your thought experiment isn't even possible, should it be treated with any weight at all? Metaphysics is essentially the search for an ultimate reality, and if your arguments have no basis in reality at all should they even be considered?
thought experiments are never a valid rebuttal, except if used as arbitrary examples of valid situations, i.e. trolley problem thought experiment is used as an arbitrary example of messy situations one can intervene in.
Some authors will use thought experiments to convey their full rebuttal in a very, very simple form for digestion by outsiders though
>>2687247
Agreed, and I'm not even going to bother playing Devil's advocate because fuck those guys.
"HURR DURR, B-BUT W-WHAT IF WE WERE IN A UNIVERSE WHE-"
Seriously, shut the fuck up.
>>2687247
The question of whether p-zombies are possible is the point of the thought experiment in the first place. If you are a physicalist and don't think it's possible for a human being with no conscious experience to exist, you have to argue why.
