Stop dreaming and back to work, tovarysh'!
World peace ain't gonna build itself.
What was Hitler up to in the years between his release from prison and becoming Chancellor? Was he a backbencher MP in the Reichstag? Did he get into petty debates with other members of the Reichstag? Did he have personal negotiations with Franz Von Papen trying to form cabinets? I can't imagine him being a backbench MP during question time asking petty questions to the chancellor and jeering from the back of the crowd.
>>2714249
Hitler wasn't a member of Reichstag. NSDAP was largely irrelevant until 1930 election.
Nobody knows, some say he worked as a carpenter with his dad, other say he went to india to learn the secrets of the universe from Hindus and Buddhist monks

It was a huge political movement all the way through the 20s.

Why did so many Jewish people remain in Nazi Germany?
>>2714180
A lot of them left Germany. 250,000 or so.
>>2714192
But why did millions of others stay?
>>2714180
They were dead.
What the fuck was their problem?
If you've ever been to Japan you'll know they are a country of fucking autists. World War II was literally a beta uprising because they so mad that they were being blocked out of the colonisation game by firstly Europe and the Chadnited States.
Inferiority complex.

Why did we not see a weapon like the chu ko nu in europe /his/ ?
This weapon was invented during the three kingdoms era, how come we never had anything similar in europe ?
exactly how was the chu ko nu a revolutionary weapon?
>it shot arrows really FAST.
yes, but apart from that what?
Also
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastraphetes
Probably the need for higher powered crossbows due to the proliferation of effective armour in Europe.
>>2713466
Seriously how much would these weapons have changed feudal warfare in europe ?
The chu ko nu could fire much faster than the longbow and even better, just shoot in one area and restrict enemy troop movement
If the Germans had successfully conquered the British Isles in Operation Sealion, where would the royal family and the fatass PM Porkypants have fled to? The U.S? Canada? Australia like the criminals they were?

Why did Britain oppose minority British rule over native Africans, whilst supporting Israeli Jewish rule over Arabs?
>>2713282
Because the eternal leaf decided to push for NIBMAR.
>>2713282
The eternal anglo got their fuulings hurt with the declaration of independence of Rhodesia. So they tried to sabotage the country and their Brittish citizens due muh pride

>Why did Britain oppose minority British rule over native Africans, whilst supporting Israeli Jewish rule over Arabs?
Because the Palestinians wouldn't have helped to invade Nasser
So, what is the perfect Balkan region, and how is it attained? Ideally with as little bloodshed as possible.
Easy. Give Kosovo to Albania, and then simply draw a line somewhere between Zagreb and Sarajevo, giving each state enough land to prosper. Have an open borders treaty between Croatia and Bosnia, and forcibly deport muslims, serbs, and croats who just happen to be living in the wrong nation. Sure, it'll lead to butthurt and ugly[citation needed] borders, but also, more importantly, to ethno states.

He starved their country and tested poison gas on them.
Stinky and uneducated

So he did nothing wrong then.
Do you have a favorite current cardinal, /his/?
I like Cardinal Muller.
Also I guess this can be a thread to talk about Church politics.

What do you think about letting faux commie/state nationalism stand as """"catholic""" churches.

I barely know Individual popes because every nigga is like paul john benedict alexander or some shit, what makes you think I should know cardinals?
What does /his/ think of this guy? He's written stuff like "Lies my Teacher Told Me" and "Teaching What Really Happened". I read a little bit of "Lies" and kind of liked it, but that was years ago. Now, I'm looking back and he seems like kind of a crock.
>PhD in Sociology, yet writes and teaches history
>Seems more transfixed on racism than an African American History Professor
>Currently justifying the removal of Louisiana's controversial Confederate monuments
I don't want to come off like a rabid, anti-social justice /pol/tard, but this guy's started to smell a little fishy to me, and he's starting to remind me of "Guns, Germs, and Steel" disaster Jared Diamond, a geography professor who really just wants to justify why his favorite culture on the other side of the planet didn't make any "cargo."
Be honest, /his/: am I being too critical of this guy?
Also: how many experts from other fields write history books? I mean, I know that a lot of the material we usually deal with is interdisciplinary, but these authors always seem to operate on some moral prerogative and make some point on human injustice. Thoughts?
>>2712577
I just really don't know what to make of this guy. Did anyone ever read completely through "Lies my Teacher Told Me?" How was it? I know that some people trash it for being more of a long-winded rant than an insightful criticism of American textbooks, and when I read it he did spend a lot of time pointing out Eurocentrism and racist misinformation, which are actually really good to address, but comprising a book of only that doesn't really create a lot of substance nor analysis.

Is this accurate? I get that it's just a joke video of a guy ranting about his old professors, but is there any truth to it?
Any experiences or stories of professors trying to make a point on history outside of their field?
My friend once told me his honors English professor asserted that slaves were valued as being worse than cattle, the whole class disagreed with her. She ended up bringing in a graduate student to talk about slavery his next class. A student asked him point-blank the question, and he elaborated that the idea that slaves would be so undervalued was stupid, so the professor wasn't too happy.

Did slaves build the pyramids or was it skilled workers? Or both? Who contributed more?
jewish slaves
>>2712503
Slaves weren't permitted anywhere near prestigious monuments. In general these building projects existed to provide paid work for people during the periods when farming was impossible (due to the annual flooding of the Nile), so there would be no point setting slaves to work on them anyway.
Which pyramid
