>strongest military on earth
>loses to bunch of peasants with AK's
How could you fuck it up?
Depends how you look at it, the communist viets lost nearly a million lives alone while only 50,000 americans died.
It's because Democrats are pussies, and Asians are basically hive mind organisms who don't care about individual lives.

It wasn't the first time superior commitment won out at great cost over superior material resources, and it won't be the last.
Alawite Muslims, what makes them different? What makes them special? and what is their endgame? Pic is Bashar's dad. Also looking for redpills on Sunni's, Shia's, Wahaabi's, Salfists, ect.
>>2714864
Alawites are a mystery syncretist sect. They have a strange kind of trinitarian theology. They celebrate Christmas, consider Mohammad a legit prophet, and my understanding is many were upset when Assad got that Shia cleric to rule that they're Muslims. My understanding is most Sunni Muslims do not consider them Muslims at all, and from what I've gathered they're viewed as heretics by mainstream Shia.
We really don't know very much about their religion at all. They're very secretive about it for fear of persecution at the hand of Sunni Muslims. You can read a bit about it on Wikipedia and in some web articles, but there's not a whole lot of verification and it's hard to know what they really believe.
They are called "those who turn off the lights"
Supposedly in their meetings they turn off the lights and have sex with whomever is near to them, including relatives.
Probably slander and bullshit
>>2715583
This is exactly the kind of shit I'm talking about here>>2715566
There's a lot of bullshit floating around about them, most of it cooked up by Sunnis to discredit them. They've become reclusive about their beliefs as a result. Which is a stupid approach IMO, because it just makes it easier to make shit up about them, like "ooh what do these spooky kuffirs have to hide oooh". Still, that's the road they chose.
What is Prussian culture and how is it connected to baltics and Germans?
It's nonexistant for now. Used to create stoic, focused people that didn't let their feelings, religion, or ideology get in their way.
>>2714813
>stoic, focused people that didn't let their feelings, religion, or ideology
>or ideology
Top fucking kek

Nazi Germany came after the cultural genocide of the Prussians
Do any of you have more pics like this?
Don't let that picture fool you. Afghanistan has always been a shithole. Pictures like that only show the very few nice, touristy parts.
>>2714814
and now there aren't a few nice touristy spots
>>2714814
not looking for pics specifically of Afghanistan, any then and now pics.
People who SHOULD have been President.

Honestly, things would have been so much better if Nixon won in 1960.
Alright /his/, who would win in a fight? Rasputin or Charles II?
>Rasputin. The giant homeless wizard who ended the Russian Empire, by fucking the queen and cucking the Tsar, with a Boney M song to match. Surviving poison, knife and bullet, he had a cock as long as his health bar.
>Or.. Charles II, of Spain. Physically and mentally retarded, he managed to be the greatest ruler in European history.. showing Monarchy is legitimately retard-proof.
>These two abnormally proportioned historical heavy weight will clash, but only one will be crowned..
>Deadliest Warrior
probably rasputin because physically tougher
who would win:
>A burly russian giant who had claimed to have mystic powers
OR
>an inbreed
>>2714638
Who would win?
>stocky Russian Muzhik
vs
>a literal retard
I'm going with Rasputin.
You often see in cartoons a prisoner waving around a metal cup. Where does this cartoon ''montage'' (dont really know what to call it) come /originate from?
>>2714635
>Where does this cartoon ''montage'' (dont really know what to call it)
It's literally a meme.
>>2714635
A montage is a compilation of something, I think the word you're looking for is 'stereotype'
Orthodoxy is the only viable response to poshlost left.
>>2714495
>Any form of Paulianity
>Viable response to anything.
I mean, I suppose if you hit your head and don't think too clearly, but come on, the Gospels can't even agree with each other, let alone anything else in the "inerrent holy bible". Matthew manages to be inconsistent over the scope of his first chapter.
All Orthodox countries are poor shitholes.

>A. The Jews were slaves in Egypt, and were freed from subjugation by the Lord
>B. The Jews were immigrants living in insular communities in Egypt. Eventually the Egyptians got sick of their shit and kicked them the fuck out.
Based on the rest of Jewish history, which one seems like the most likely scenario?
Hey retard, why do you think those are the only two possibilities?
>>2714092
Well a third possibility is that the Jews were never in Egypt, but I don't want to come off as an anti-Semite.
>>2714100
That's not anti-Semitism; that's anti-fundamentalism because you don't read the Bible as history. There's nothing controversial in saying that the captivity in Egypt and exodus are not historically reliable narratives. /his/ would know that if it didn't get it's understanding of ancient history from Sunday School and youtube videos.
/his/ Riddle time
>You are in a room
>There are four people in there with you
>All four are telling you what's on the other side of the door
>Only one is telling the truth
>All four are trying to convince you of their way alone
>None of you are able to leave until you find out who's telling the truth
How do you find out who's telling the truth?
Open the door.
>>2713963
You can't know the truth unless you can go through the door
None of the others can know the truth unless they've been through
Push them against the door and knock on their boipuccies.
Why isn't the Third Century Crisis of the Roman Empire as well-known and romanticised as the Three Kingdoms Period of Imperial China?
Both took place nearly simultaneously (AD 235–284 vs AD 220–280) and marked the fracture of the dominant empires of their day into three competing states, which were subsequently reunited by military conquest, only for both to then collapse yet again in the fifth century.
But while figures like Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, and Sima Yi are celebrated in Chinese popular culture, the same can't be said of Aurelian, Odaenathus, and Diocletian in Europe.
>>2713478
Because there was no bloke in 15th or 16th century writing a a romance about them, duh.
Because the Three Kingdoms period had a popular classic historical fiction written about it, the crisis of the third century did not.
Old black and white photos preferred. I'd prefer to see these creatures back when they dwelt in their national habitat without modern clothing and such.
>Ota Benga (c.1883[1] – March 20, 1916) was a Congolese man, a Mbuti pygmy known for being featured in an anthropology exhibit at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904, and in a human zoo exhibit in 1906 at the Bronx Zoo. Benga had been purchased from African slave traders by the explorer Samuel Phillips Verner, a businessman hunting Africans for the Exposition.[2] He traveled with Verner to the United States. At the Bronx Zoo, Benga had free run of the grounds before and after he was exhibited in the zoo's Monkey House. Except for a brief visit with Verner to Africa after the close of the St. Louis Fair, Benga lived in the United States, mostly in Virginia, for the rest of his life.
>Displays of non-white humans as examples of "earlier stages" of human evolution were common in the early 20th century, when racial theories were frequently intertwined with concepts from evolutionary biology. African-American newspapers around the nation published editorials strongly opposing Benga's treatment. Dr. R. S. MacArthur, the spokesperson for a delegation of black churches, petitioned the New York City mayor for his release from the Bronx Zoo.
>The mayor released Benga to the custody of Reverend James M. Gordon, who supervised the Howard Colored Orphan Asylum in Brooklyn and made him a ward. That same year Gordon arranged for Benga to be cared for in Virginia, where he paid for him to acquire American clothes and to have his teeth capped, so the young man could be more readily accepted in local society. Benga was tutored in English and began to work. Several years later, the outbreak of World War I stopped ship passenger travel and prevented his returning to Africa. This, as well as the inhumane treatment he was subjected to for most of his life, caused Benga to fall into a depression. He committed suicide in 1916 at the age of 32.[3]

But the West has always put science above (judeo-christian/buddhist) 'ethics'.
inb4 >notscience
Just because our science was too primitive to realise that what it thought was linear evolution was actually just asynchronous (but not beyond comparison) civilisation, doesn't mean it wasn't science.

Pygmies in the Congo rain forest. For 60,000 years they have been there, and still haven't discovered agriculture. What an epic fail. Every day the same bullshit: roaming around the forest chasing little terrified animals, or digging holes in the ground for honey or whatever. It never occurred to them to simply capture a few animals, and then breed as many of them as they want for guaranteed food every day, with barely having to lift a finger for it, so that they'd have free time for thinking, and science and technology. And if you miss the hunt, you can still go hunting whenever you feel like it, as we do — no one stops you from doing that — but you do not want to depend on hunting for your frigging breakfast every day. Doubtless that's why they are still pygmies: if you have to run around for hours every day merely to catch some corn flakes, it stands to reason you'll be stunted for life: physically, mentally, you name it. You might say "At least they are in great shape". Bullshit, I say. I mean just look at them: barely any muscle on them; they almost look like Kenyan runners, one step away from starving skeletal Africans. Compare with a strength athlete who merely trains three times a week. The pygmies lose even at physical culture because their lack of agriculture hasn't bought them the time to study and experiment with physical culture. So they suck at everything, even in fitness matters, on top of the fact that, due to the harshness of their lifestyle, their women look like men. The documentary narrator says the 60,000-year thing as if we are supposed to be impressed. But being retarded for 60,000 years is worse than being so for 40,000 or 20,000 years — how is it an achievement? Their "history" is so wretched that we ought to exterminate them for no other reason than because the contemplation of their existence depresses us.
Does anyone actually unironically believe the British elite gave a damn about the average Polish person in 1939? Any more than they gave a damn about the average Serbian in 1914?
Did Britain actually care about Polish people or were they just afraid of Germany getting too OP?
>>2713362
>what is realpolitik
>>2713362
Quite obviously the latter.
What a shit thread.
>>2713362
Both.
The same reason they intervened for Belgium in WW1, A too powerful Germany was bad for Britain, and if they didn't honour their alliances it made it that much harder to have treaties with those countries.
Britain didn't give a fuck about the Serbs in 1914s, it was the Belgians, because that was the country getting fucked they didn't have a loose handshake deal with.
My local newspaper just did a story on chinese jihadists fighting like lions for ISIS in Syria and Iraq and got me interested.
What can you tell me about the eastern Chinese provinces, the ones with a Turkic Muslim people?
Whats their history, how did they end up in China (and not their own *stan state like the Russian Empire did), how were they treated during the communist reforms and so on.
Some facts to get us up to date:
>Xinjiang province is 20% of China
>about 20 million people live there
>Uighurs (pronounced Wee-gurs) make half of that
>they almost exclusively muslims
>China has been moving atheist Han people there to colonize
>had to move soldiers as well to prevent uprisings
>basically occupied zone inside the country
>ISIS recruits from there, since locals don't like being replaced by Han people under threat of violence
>>2713145
Why doesn't ISIS trigger an uprising and attack Bejing? I'm sure American will gladly and covertly fund them if they did.
>>2713163
You mean like this?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang_conflict
USA did the opposite, they supported the chinese communist party against the USSR, so the USSR supported the turkic chinese in their efforts.
