So lads, is there a translation for the Studio? Using it for the first time I have no idea what the buttons do, I managed to open a scene but it looks like I'm in editing mode cause there's a bunch of shit like rotation options etc enabled and I don't think this is how you're supposed to navigate through this when you just want to watch a scene.

I forgot to mention, if you have a previous version installed, you will want to first delete the contents in the "Text" folder inside the UITranslation folder (which is inside the Plugins folder). It has trouble overwriting itself.

Only if whoever made the scene put some animations into it. Go into H-Animations, select one of the characters, and move their speed bar and see if they start moving about.

Yeah it should, if the person who made the scene left the animations running when they saved it. I've loaded a few before that autoplayed.

If it's not moving, odds are they never put animations to go with it.

Is there any way to organize your cards properly? I would love if you could create folders in the install dir for the 5 rooms and just drag and drop the cards you want in there. It's a big pain to do this ingame.

There is some card organisation, for instance my TLR cards are renamed TLR_girlname, and they show up in the lists in the same place as they do in the folder, which in this instance is the back end.

All I need to do is scroll down to the bottom to find them every time. I suggest you start naming your cards so they can be found easier.

So both the studio and some of the dialogue with characters are untranslated despite the fact that I'm using the translation in the pastebin and deleted the folders it said to get rid of beforehand. Is it just that this game isn't fully translated yet? There are a few rare times where one of the girls will say something that IS translated, but for the most part they seem to speak to me in moonrunes only. Just making sure I didn't fuck up the install somehow even though it was pretty straightforward

The dialogues are mostly untranslated, there is a bunch of stuff to translate for each personality so it will probably take some time, check the translation thread on hongfire to download the most recent translation files. But a lot is still untraslated, and the translated dialogues so far are very shitty if you ask me.

It's only a partial translation, yes. Unfortunately. It's primarily for menu translations.

It may not look like it, but this is actually a card. It is 5 colours in the PC-8801 system palette and loads in the game just fine. It is also 1/5~1/4 the size of the cards the game makes on disk.

Checked both the scene data and the waifuripper page, and it works exactly as I thought it did. So, no, it doesn't do "the same shit but better"; it does a completely different, quasi-related thing.

The way it works is that waifu data is stored in its entirety in every scene image. Waifuripper finds that data, holds onto it, and then creates a generic card and then writes the waifu data into it at the end.

What I focus on is making the actual PNG data itself smaller or reducing fidelity so I can do additional things with it, such as reducing colour depth, making it a larger resolution, or drawing over it and then writing waifu data into the the file just as the game does, but this time with an even smaller image on-disk that looks a bit unique to what's possible with just the game's tools.

If I really wanted to, I could make my cards into nice tall images, paint over them with a small colour palette, save it with a lookup table (instead of Truecolour), and append the waifu data at the end—for a few of the demonstrations here I've done some pixel-level detail work to show off the possibilities.

It's pretty easy to do as well, once you know where in the file the data is.

ah, I just read that bit, though apparently that feature is new-ish (and a month after the initial release apparently). That said, the only "work" part I'm actually doing is editing or making an image, not the part where I add the waifu data. It's literally a cut/paste operation so... again, waifuripper doesn't do it "better" when it's doing the exact same thing I'm doing, and probably at the same speed.

When you save the new image, it just saves a regular PNG. You still need to append the waifu data to the end of the file, which you can do in a text editor like notepad, or a hex editor which has the nifty feature of organizing byte groups.

Why can I not overwrite some girls after making changes but can overwrite others? Just made some changes to the outfit and personality of my main girl and she's not showing on the save list to overwrite while some other girls are.

Also, which DLC part do I need to get the Sitri outfit to work? Installed the 3 from the pastebin, can load the bunny suit and gladiator outfit and stuff and have Sitri's clothes as a png, but can't load them in game (they are listed and show the card preview but give back the default shirt + pants when trying to load).
