Often people get angry and say I am "shit posting".
Maybe because of the character I drew gets drawn often by other people?
I have no idea, and nobody explains.
Other times people get angry because I miss a detail that is perhaps important to the character. But I don't know the characters...
As an artist it's very helpful for requesters to make an image or a link with many reference pictures, because I don't know the characters and am lazy to look for reference myself.
When people post a picture, especially with 2 characters and say "Draw character A giving character B a foot job" In the reference provided, it's not always labeled who is character A or B.
One time I messed up and got a request backwards.

Besides, my coloring style is actually fairly simple where I just start with the base colors underneath the lineart and then I just add the shadows/brighter colors on other layers on top. Most of what I do, I actually learned from many drawing tutorials and I basically made my own style out of them. It really helps for you to look into a lot of lighting study with anatomy too. Also I don't usually use any fancy techniques aside from the usual tools like the brush or blur tools. Hope that helps.

Somehow I feel artists refusing to fulfill requests just because they are unsatisfactory is what is gonna kill drawthreads. I understand one can have standards and you're doing it for free but I cannot help but feel like you are somewhat full of yourself. Not the other anon but you're more likely to get something you don't want to draw with commissions. And honestly, if you want your stuff drawn in a timely fashion, maybe you should commission. These are REQUESTS and the only one full of themselves is you if you think artists are required to draw something here - especially since they'd be doing it out of their free time for no gain (except the feeling of a good job or maybe some traffic to their sites/commissions).
/h/'s drawthreads will end up dead because there is too much of this type of thought and since so many of the same requests with the same people that no one wants to draw - or more often, people double-, triple-, multi-dipping - keep showing up, artists will continue to go to other places. One quick fix is that some of the main offenders can stop posting the same damn waifus and vary up their wants.
I can't speak for every artist but I can say on average, maybe 3-5 requests in a thread will pique some interest since the other 295 requests are almost always the same shit, different girl.
(It helps that other threads are a little more appreciative in most cases).

That might be the most obvious issue because other than you wanting a certain male (that could give people some pause if they aren't good at drawing males/anything other than disembodied dicks) but since its not required, its probably as simple as artists not wanting to do it and/or not liking the character(s).
In a different case than uninterested artists: (I honestly thought you were going to be sawyer anon so I'll use them as an example) Their problem is the fact that they literally request the same girl doing the same shit in every thread without fail and has been reported to be a bit rude/annoying in the past. Even if they receive something, if they even acknowledge it, they'll be back in the next thread asking for the same thing. And if you go to other threads on different boards, they're doing the same. They've probably had who knows how many fills and honestly, no one likes a greedy gus. Its why sometimes if a request gets filled, another artist will move to something else - I don't think I've seen a request get more than 3 fills at the most in a single thread.
At the end of the day, requesters shouldn't take someone not drawing your thing as a personal affront. You haven't lost anything as you weren't promised anything (unlike a commission). Take it easy.

Some requests are either really hard to spend time on due to the request itself (the outfit being too complex or there's too many little details that's hard to take note of unless I know the character), and sometimes I find that the style might not even mesh well with mine so I'm hesitant to take it on board.
I honestly don't get how people can feel so angry about a request? I was originally an OR here myself and I never felt bothered when a drawfriend missed my request. It didn't bother me that I was ignored a lot since as an artist myself, I know that requests shouldn't even be an obligation on their part. At some point I kinda liked how some anons seemed really happy to have their requests delivered as a full-on piece. In this regard, when I felt decent enough to provide for some anons here, I decided to take on a couple of requests myself in hopes that it would "surprise" some anons. I'm kinda slow because real life stuff still gets in the way: like my previous PC crashing and the fact that I actually draw my own stuff separate from here (I don't really plan on drawing in other parts of 4chan outside of /h/ though). Most of all I try to provide pieces that will make one OR really happy as opposed to just doing multiple quickies. I mean, isn't it better if at least one or two lucky anons get provided with something more "substantial" than just the usual, esp. when other drawfriends already provide for multiple ORs.
Well that's how I see it, and I'm sorry if I never seem to pick certain ORs, but in my case it has very little to do with me not liking the request and more to do with the fact that I'm not even sure if I can do it. Even then, I don't really want to hog all the requests given my slower delivery time.
