I'm writing a pretty big assignment on how the golden ratio is used in graphic design. If anyone on here is a professional designer or would otherwise consider themselves an expert, I would really appreciate a statement on the subject
The golden ratio might just be the mathematical representation of aesthetically near-perfect dimensions. You find it everywhere in nature which may be why it seems so pleasing to the human eye. Flowers, trees, animals (including humans) all more often than not have dimensions roughly equating phi. Buildings, tools, furniture and most things that we make also follow this convention very often even subconsciously. Often in graphics, drawing, or web design I'll go over my work with a golden rectangle and refine proportions to tighten up the work. It almost always improves the design.

How are you going to reference an anonymous shitter from 4chan?...You won't know if the source is credible.

I got news for you buddy, the golden ratio isn't really used in graphic design. Nobody sits down to design a logo or layout with a picture of the golden ratio for reference.
The golden ratio is just a myth.
People in general are prone to find things that are not there like hidden meanings, shapes, messages and patterns.
The golden ratio is a mathematically correct shape which can translate to symmetry but no designer uses the golden ratio as a ground rule when designing.
it's just a ratio.
>mfw no qt designs
It is just a ratio, and it is considerable, must consider the subbjective and objective rates to your work though

finger your woman in the directional flow of the golden ratio, and fuck her in the golden ratio position. Tested and proven desu
This is how much this site is for designers, people know nothing about nothing here

The golden ratio is useless in graphic design.
composition and balance are importaint, but using the golden ratio seems to be overly convoluded.
Just use thirds.
