how overplayed is glitch art/pixel sorting? imo the effect is pretty cool albiet not very original
also, general poto manipulation thread
Overplayed on /gd/, but how often do you see it in real life?
>>246423
>pixel sorting
>real life
def never ,but great question

I made one for my assignment and everyone was like amazed for some reason.
They thought it was a photoshop filter and I lied saying it took hours.
>>246165
i think its pretty cool. i like how only part of the image is pixel sorted. double exposure is a shitty meme though.
>>246423
on every fucking dubstep/techno music video
found footage films
commercials
>>246664
Did the same thing with low polly creations.
>>246704
>dubstep
>music video
you see it rarely in real life because those intricate pixel details will look like shit as soon you change their resolution or print them
Anyone in here know how to do this to an image?
>>246960
its wind, a photohop filter
>>246664
how do you do that?
>>246664
When I was in college I had an assignment to illustrate a poem (one assigned to us by the dipshit teacher, worst piece of trash I ever read, it was about pi..) I took a square, rotated it and scaled it down, hit my transform again x200 action and handed it in. Easiest distinction grade I ever got. I love it when "arty" types fall for the spiel
Any more "I can't believe you like this shit, you twat, now pay me" type stories? I love 'em
>>246775
Amigaaaa.
>>246165
How do you do that?

>>247757

>>249146

>>249255
Poor dude bump

There is a thread on lainchan's art board that has a lot of stuff like this. You could ask there.
>>246165
i think that pixel sorting as a genre/technique is a bit overplayed, though when used properly (like in your pic) it comes out great and is beautiful.
also, can this just be the new glitch are thread?
>>250583
where'd you find that? its a lot less cluttered than a lot of glitch art i've seen, i like it
>can this be the new glitch art thread
go for it

Sorry for the long post, but.... Could anyone point me in the right direction as to which is the best/easiest to use photoshop out there. I am pretty much a beginner but i would like to start attempting to design some things. Secondly does anyone know a popular or the best 'comic/manga style drawing software' ? Thank you for your help in advance :)
>>250659
if by photoshop you mean design software, use illustrator? you usually shouldnt use raster programs (photoshop, gimp) for design
also underage b&

actually i made it.
i was curious to see if .svg files could be corrupted in similar ways to bitmaps, so i took pic related and traced it to paths in inkscape.
i then opened the .svg in notepad++, find/replaced different numbers within the path data, then took it into gimp for cleanup because inkscape is slow as fug.
im planning to eventually write a script of two that will automatically change the path parameters to something a bit more refined than just outright replacing numbers, but that may take a while.
