Infographic/portfolio "maker" such as piktochart online?
I am applying for a theater gig.
I'd like to present it like a portfolio (image of project + really short desc, max 2-3 sentences).
The catch?
On old fagbook, ps or ai or indesign would run slow af and i wouldn't know how to use it. i'm looking for more resources like piktochart to just edit existing templates or if you guys can come up with a suggestion for my case.
nvm actually found a ton resources

My birthday is in 20 days and I dont knwo what to ask for.
I was hoping to get something to help me to develop my future career in Art Director (advertisment) but I've been searching for 3 hours and could find any good stuff or good recommendations, so here I am. Maybe this could go to /r/ but... I think it can be helpful for others to get some materials or utilities to buy in their future.

Hi Guys,
Longtime lurker here, please excuse me for this, but my first post is a call for help. So, i just started as a product manager in a small company for locking systems. The offer, or quotation form, we send to the customer is an old excel sheet with Times New Romans etc... I really want to give it more professional look and since the manager, currently, isnt willing to spent some cash on software, do you have any ideas for design- maybe excel template or any kind of free stuff would be highly appreciated!
>>298728
Microsoft Office never bothered doing something beautiful so don't know about Excel templates but used to make similar forms on Indesign and illustrator (depends on the need)
Some may say it's dumb and no convenient to fill up but nvm. Once you master the beast no one can stop you !
Thanks, i modified a litl bit the excel, because i need to copy a large amount of numbers and descriptions, so i dont think that these two would be suitable...

Hello Bulgarian friend.
Why are you Bulgarians so fixed with RFID locks?
Anyway... ditch Excel, use Word. Create tables , add graphics, then make the borders invisible. Kinda like the web before proper CSS. You'll look much more professional.
Just some facebook cover photos I made in my spare time

Sup dudes. I just started in uni for Game Design. Going more for level design than anything. I was just curious as to whether any of you had any advice for me?
>>298575
Yes, you happen to be in the wrong board.
oh. my bad then. Sorry about that
>>298577
yeah and never come back
I’m planning on designing an interactive map of a cell. Attached image shows a bit of what I’m going for, though in a different style. The individual parts of the cell would all be separate layers with a little idle animation and such. Upon zooming in a window would pop up with information.
I am developing this for two things: Web, as a landing page for navigating through pages, and for booths (using a large touch screen). Ideally, I would like a single solution for both.
I’d preferably want to use vector based assets from Illustrator and make use of a variety of animations (transparency, rotation, scaling, moving, all looping). Do any of you have suggestions or recommendations for software? Point me in the right direction? Adobe Animate CC? Google Web Designer?
I’ve done animations in the past using AE & Illustrator, but nothing interactive of the sort.
>>298556
What you're suggesting is a horrible idea for a landing page.
>>298557
Not necessarily the main page, just as a page we direct to for browsing various parts of the cell.
I think I misunderstood the term a bit.
What was the spur for the wild zig zag colors of the 80s and, to some extent, the 90s? Any design historians here?

I was aware of sottsass and Mephis, didnt realize they singlehandedly started the mainstream push to pattern and color
For some reason I got it into my head that I wanted to design a racing game menu. I think I did an ok job for a first stab, but I'm still just a novice and any help or recommendations would be welcomed. I am always looking to pick up new things. :)
>>298411
it looks outdated, maybe try to gather good game resources there's a few websites that let you dl free open source game graphics and artwork. the titles could look better at the center and definitely try adding more contrast and unless you know what you're doing don't use a black and white image.
>>298411
The font choice is pretty boring and everything is way too close to the edge of the screen.
I think the font makes it look like a cheap mobile game. Don't go for something really outlandish, but pick something with a bit more oomph and impact (not impact though)
>>298411
It's not great, but it's not bad.
Throw some jazzy jazz in there and you got yourself a racing game by Sega. Reminds me of PS2 era racing games, but a little more modern.
How do I into minimalist?
>>298381
you could go mememalist and simply do simple stuff or you could look at an object and see what's really necessary in order to still view the object
Learn the design principles.
If you can take away an element and still get your point across, then do it. Get rid of everything unnecessary. If it doesn't serve a purpose, take it away.
Can people understand your message in 1–2 seconds? No? Start over.
Imitate the minimalists until you see a pattern.

it looks like he has horns or something if i were you i would keep his original mask (white is more recognizable without the lines) and just add a acouple ofbottles below his jaw plus scale everything down a bit.
>>298366
Terrible
What if you put the Fawkes face on a bottle? Maybe even give it a classy beer labeling look.
Hello /gd/
