I really want to get better at sketching but I don't want to life drawings or anatomy shit.
What would you recommend.

A sketchbook. Get to it.
>>303568
Dude, you just have to make stickmans, then you add more complexity, and then with the time you will be able to add your own original style to it

So what the fuck do you wanna draw? gay hipster doodles? You gotta learn from real life. You need to learn the basics before you can break the rules you fucking knob
Working on some business cards for a client-- which one of these is the best?
Layout: Van Patten
Everything else: Patrick Bateman
That softness of the old-style figures
The subtle interlacing of small caps and full caps
That perfect balance of a smooth texture on fearless ivory
Patrick's is the best.

>lmao that disgusting unbalanced hierarchy
>space at the bottom rather than the top

Can anyone identify the lowercase font here?
Thank you.
Can someone help me identify this font? I've tried many online resources without any luck.

The 2 i have installed that are similar are called "Good Times" and "Terminator Two"
How to change the greys in this picture (or similar ones) to a color (let's say green) while blacks staying black, and whites white?
>>303639
magic!
but how did you do this?
>>303643
I'm guessing he edited the RGB channel, or just fuck with the fuzziness when selecting grey.
How Can i improve this /GD/

anon's not wrong, it's awful. I wouldn't actually know what to suggest other than just start from scratch and come up with something better to work from. From the weird pointless black border that in this should go with the text and not against it, to the horrible photo to the god awful imposed images of two people that don't add anything to the image.
Better luck next time.
The only good graphic designers are artists that see it as a side gig or a creative way to get paid outside of art.
The rest are just losers who learned the functions of adobe products.
oh no you have triggered me with your highly controversial, yet inevitably true, statement
i am now upset and realize my own worth—it is 0.
thanks for enlightening me and the whole board.

What are the colours with the most obscure names?
I'm particularly looking for shades of orange, but any other obscure colour is fine, too.
This is mikado, a colour somewhat orange-yellow.
Wenge.
Glaucous.
Coquelicot.
so i can print it out to put on my truck.
Not sure why you'd want that on your truck, but here you go.

Why are agencies so scared to hire a designer full-time?
>>303391
Several reasons.
- They don't have enough steady work for a FT designer.
- They don't want to pay the taxes and benefits required of a FT employee
- They don't want the headaches of getting rid of a FT employee, if they decide that they don't need/want you at some future point
- They only need you now because they temporarily have more work than they can do
>>303401
This.
I've been in a 40+ hr/wk contract position for almost three years with four other designers because our boss/client doesn't want to deal with proper employment: taxes, benefits, etc.

It'd be pretty great if employers started treating us like human beings some day
>literally half of the thread in the catalog are "critique dis thing I maed" and "wat font iz dis"
It's about fucking time we make two generals for those and sagebully anyone who post outside of them. We managed to push away the "gimme free work plz" people, we can do this too.
Make /gd/ great again
>>303088
It's never been great and never will be purely because of the age group and mentality 4chan draws in. If you want quality design discussion look else where.

> thinks his work is worth anything more than a fiverr

you forgot "what's the name of this style" and "how do i do this effect in ps"
