Hey /g/ I'm looking at getting a new gaming PC, and spending ~$1800 USD max. Is this good bang for my buck or am I better off building my own??

https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37488/pccg-raven-1080-gaming-system

I want it mostly for FPS games, like CSGO (idk if that has any bearing on what parts I should get. From what I've heard CS is quite CPU intensive). I'd also be playing games like ARK and The Witcher 3.

Nigga wtf you doing? Build it yourself, you'll get better prices and value

Red color scheme too
>>
Even using identical parts this is nearly $800 cheaper.

I was just going by the specs on their site. It's a terribly unoptimized build.
>>
>>57992058
true
>>
>>57992028
Oh right I just had a look at that site, it is USD. My link was in AUD. I probably should have mentioned that.
>>
>>57992079
Fair enough. That build is still "only" 2357 AUD.
>>
>>57992086
$257 for labour and the build....AND I can't even choose the parts. Bit of a rip I guess.

Anyone got any suggestions on what they think would be a bit more of an optimized build? (I'll build it myself now)
>>
>>57992125
That sounds a bit steep, I could get a fully customized build assembled and tested for function for 100€.
>>
>>57992125
Probably a 6600k and 1070. Get a decent air cooler instead of that closed-loop cooler they include, unless it gets terribly hot indoors and/or you want to build a tiny ITX machine (protip: you don't)
>>
>>57992198
It gets insanely hot in my room. Like, 34-36 celsius. (So low 90's F)
>>
>>57992235
So that might be a good idea for you. Make sure you get one with multiple fans because having a larger surface area is what makes them more effective. Be sure to look up reviews of ones you're considering.
>>
>>57992273
Yeah.

Kinda looping back to the previous question, why would you get the 6600k instead of the 6700k? And why the 1070 instead of the 1080?
>>
Unless you do heavy video editing the 6700k is a waste and if you arent getting atleast a 75hz+ 1440p monitor the 1080 is overkill.

6600k and 1070 is the sweetspot I think.

But dont buy prebuilt man building a PC is like playing with Legos just do it yourself and save the money.
>>
guys seriously though https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tvVDQV
>>
Building your own is almost always better. However, you don't need to spend $1800. You should set aside $400-500 for a good monitor with adaptive sync and get a 1070, unless you want to wait and see what AMD's next high-end card is like.

This guy covered it. >>57992328

The most video intensive thing I do really is game, and like I pointed out the heaviest games I play are the Witcher and ARK.
