Is there a such thing as a quiet 1u computer? I want something to run pfSense on. It does not need to be powerful, an Atom or one of those J1900 integrated Celerons would be plenty, but everything I've heard is that all 1u PSUs are 250+ watts and therefore they're all loud, because of those tiny little 40mm fans.

Can I test wifi router speed and reach with a smart phone? What's the best way to go about doing it?

So I'm going to be getting gigabit fiber sometime in mid 2017 and my current openwrt router isn't going to be able to route gigabit speeds. I've been thinking of running vyos in a vm but I've always been heaitant on running such a critical service on not metal. Are there any decent affordable routers that can actually do gigabit routing (not just link up at gig speeds)?
Edgerouter pro looks like it might work but I saw it mentioned somewhere that it slows down once you stray from functions that are compatible with hardware offload.
Thoughts?
