I can get a used Macbook Pro or Air for 450$
Bit more powerful
A generic Dell that smokes both of those pieces of shit.
I understand that their is PC's cheaper that can perform better, but I want something that runs OSx and is a laptop. I hackintoshed my elitebook 2170p, it runs great, just osx runs alright at best for being one of the most supported hackintosh laptops.
>mactoddlers legitimately think they're getting a better deal when a company makes 50% profit margin off them vs when company sells its products at a loss
>I understand that eating food can let my body perform better, but I want to eat shit from my hands
I really hate faggots like you. Of course you can get a PC for cheaper, but it still can't compare to macs. OS X is amazing, the hardware to top notch, and apple care is the best customer service ever.
Sure you pay a bit more, but it's worth it in the long run to avoid headaches.
>OS X is amazing
stale shitty bait
>the hardware to top notch
boiling water and throttling to atom performance is hardly top notch
that's the best i can give you, even acer is better than macshit
ignore the chinkpad shills anon.
>top 1% of the smartest mother fuckers in the world.
You know, a couple of months ago I would look at that image and think, "ha! Look at Lenovo! Their engineering is shit. Look at that gorgeous Macbook!"
Now that I've bought a Thinkpad (needed a dirt cheap dev box), I look at that same image and think, "wow, look at how easily you can repair and upgrade the Thinkpad!"
Why are Macbooks so shit?
Why are Apple engineers so incompetent?
>Why are Apple engineers so incompetent?
Because a lot of their top talent left when the stock prices exploded.
At least, that's what I've read. Or maybe I heard it on a podcast. I don't remember. But the point is: Apple has had a brain drain.
>Costs me $980 aud
>Apple laptops 13inch costs $1399 aud
I fucking hate these cunts
>Inb4 16 gig = 15.4
>I reserved some for another virutal system
MacBooks are built like a tank, you don't need to repair them.
Source: My 2008 still works flawlessly, gave it to my dad, and now my mom is using it, never had a single issue with it.
The thing already comes fully upgrade anon, why would I want to upgrade even more?
Source: My new 15 inch rMBP is the base model and already came with 16GB of RAM and an upgradeable 256GB PCIe SSD (that's really enough for upgradeability on a laptop, I won't need more than 16GB in the next 5 years for sure)
In real life, the only thing thinkpads can upgrade that Macs can't is the RAM, that's why lenovo puts 4GB on their base model so you pay more to "upgrade" it, while Apple puts 16GB so I will never even need to upgrade the thing.
Stay poor plebs.
but that's what happens when you hackintosh a thinkpad anon
That's the problem with trying to discuss apple or macs in general on 4chan. Most people in here are underaged or poor so they can't afford something like a Mac. So they'll throw temper tantrums like the children they are.
I work at a local computer repair shop, and we get quite a lot of macbooks to repair.
Most of the issues are disconnected flat cables from the screen and dead HDD's though, so nothing really bad.
Lenovo laptops often come with dead motherboards, sometimes even after just a month of use.
I agree with what you said regarding how reliable macbooks are, i have a mid 2010 13" and it hasn't given me a single problem.
but if i had the option today, i wouldn't buy another apple laptop.
Whats the point of that image though?
You can't draw on a macbook pro, whereas you can on the surface.
>MacBooks are built like a tank, you don't need to repair them.
Okay. They keyboard on my old Macbook was significantly worn. Replacements were hundreds of dollars.
I can buy a Thinkpad replacement keyboard for $37.
>The thing already comes fully upgrade anon, why would I want to upgrade even more?
Assuming you're not joking, because the current hardware configuration is lacking after a few years.
>In real life, the only thing thinkpads can upgrade that Macs can't is the RAM
I like Macs, but that is a straight up lie.
I can upgrade the fucking CPU on my Thinkpad. With Macbook Pros built after summer, 2012, you can't even upgrade the drive.
>while Apple puts 16GB so I will never even need to upgrade the thing.
I have 32 GB in my desktop and would love it if my laptop could take that much. Instead, I have to upgrade the CPU to an i7, then I can go to 16GB RAM.
> we get quite a lot of macbooks to repair
yeah, that's because it's a very popular laptop, but in general if you take care of it, it feels like it's going to last 100 years, unless you're a retard and spill coffee on the keyboard or do some stupid shit.
these are all very true posts regarding the problems.
I had an 07 black macbook, in the 5 years that i used it i had to replace the keyboard twice, and before i stopped using it the backlight module ate shit, and so did bluetooth connectivity, for some reason.
Thinkpads are very nice laptops, not built as well as they used to, but still very durable.
Wouldn't buy one new though, since they depreciate like crazy, just like dell and hp's workstation laptops.
>Apple retards would argue Poor
>Apple retards are at a tipping point where they defend their life choices
No one cares what computer you run. Get a fucking jobs and quit thinking we care.
Also I own a 6grand PC. I also animate 3d environment videos.
>I still would not recommend a mac for anything serious.
> replacements were hundreds of dollars
Pls be bait
MacBook Keys on Ebay:
How to clean or replace a key on a macbook:
> Assuming you're not joking, because the current hardware configuration is lacking after a few years.
> I can upgrade the fucking CPU on my Thinkpad
What model is your thinkpad? What is the best CPU you can put into it? I'm pretty sure 99% of the new thinkpads have soldered CPU's, and I doubt you can put anything better than my quad-core i7 4770HQ in it.
> I have 32 GB in my desktop and would love it if my laptop could take that much. Instead, I have to upgrade the CPU to an i7, then I can go to 16GB RAM.
Cool story anon, but I'm already with an i7 and 16GB of RAM ;^)
> pic related, my SSD speeds (this is the 2014 model, the newer one has twice the speed on both write and read)
I enjoy it when new gays come out of the closet every day on /g/ admitting how much they adore slobbering and choking on big dicks. Go you OP, gobble that shit up and swallow the gravy.
>Pls be bait
>MacBook Keys on Ebay:
Uh. $3+ for *a single key*? And you're calling my post bait? What a rube.
What? You don't think technology progresses?
>What model is your thinkpad?
T420. It can take a four-core i7.
> I'm pretty sure 99% of the new thinkpads
I don't know how that's in any way relevant.
You realize I'm not telling people to buy an old Thinkpad instead of a new Macbook, right? I'm not fucking retarded.
But if the choice is to throw away $450 on a *really* shitty Macbook Pro, or pay $150 for a T420, then about $100 in upgrades to get a superior machine, I know which I'm taking.
>Cool story anon, but I'm already with an i7 and 16GB of RAM ;^)
How is that irrelevant? If I had an i7, I'd want 32 gigs. I burn through RAM running VMs. As it stands, the 8GB in my $150 Thinkpad is great for running Visual Studio and a really compact Lubuntu VM. But I'll still need my desktop for tougher work.
>can't use cpu and gpu together at the same time or they throttle to half performance
The only thing the Mac Pro is pro at is throttling.
Get a real workstation like a Z820 poorfag.
>Uh. $3+ for *a single key*? And you're calling my post bait? What a rube.
That's expensive for you? Do you break ALL your keys that often?
> What? You don't think technology progresses?
> T420. It can take a four-core i7.
pic related, why would you lie on the internet?
Also as I suspected, you CAN'T put a better CPU in your thinkpad than my quad-core haswell i7
> But if the choice is to throw away $450 on a *really* shitty Macbook Pro, or pay $150 for a T420, then about $100 in upgrades to get a superior machine, I know which I'm taking.
I get your point, but some people enjoy having some decent battery life.
> How is that irrelevant?
This whole discussion is irrelevant
>That's expensive for you? Do you break ALL your keys that often?
Are you literally retarded? I'm talking about *worn* keys. Shiny. Divots from nails.
Goddamn, stop commenting. You're an idiot.
>pic related, why would you lie on the internet?
I've found several posts by people who've been running the i7 QM just fine.
>Also as I suspected, you CAN'T put a better CPU in your thinkpad than my quad-core haswell i7
Again, how the fuck is this relevant in this thread? We're talking about OP's $450 options.
Chirst, I'm starting to believe the retarded Macfag meme.
> I'm talking about "worn" keys
Well that's a real problem on MacBooks, but I wouldn't say it's enough for a keyboard replacement m8.
>I've found several posts by people who've been running the i7 QM just fine.
Is pic related one of them?
> We're talking about OP's $450 options
Well now that's based on our own opinions, but I would say the Ivy Bridge MacBook Air is pretty great at that price, it gets much better battery life, performs great (maybe even greater than the T420), has the best trackpad in the market and is very mobile.
That's subjective though.
> Chirst, I'm starting to believe the retarded Macfag meme.
It's not a meme, it's real, most Macfags are retarded (the normies ones)
