>be uTorrent user while reading /g/
>hear from my fellow /g/ bros that uTorrent is literally Satan and that I'm being botnetted through it all the time, collecting info about my torrenting habits, and it secretly installs malware and bitcoin miners without my knowledge
>spring to action by asking around and the /g/ consensus seemed to be that qBittorrent was the botnet-free option I could count on.
>I uninstall uTorrent after backing up my torrents and install qBittorrent while noticing its 10x bigger than uTorrent but hey its a community project that works on all platforms so whatever.
>I open it up for the first time and see that the UI is a pig disgusting mess of shit and /g/ says it will probably never get an overhaul.
>I deal with it because it's not produced by a company so it won't be as pretty but as long as it works I will be OK
>I transfer my torrents to it and all seems well for now
>However, I added new torrents over time and I notice that they "stall" for no reason even if there's lots of seeders
>qBittorrent's speed is inconsistent, and my speeds keep going up and down when the torrents don't stall
>I'm getting fucking mad now, but I try to give it a chance.
>I shut my PC down that day and Windows wouldn't shut down because it is "waiting for qBittorrent to shut down" even though I exited out of qBittorrent just before I pressed shutdown.
>I had to force Windows to exit qBittorrent and I was tired so I said fuck it I will ask about it tomorrow and went to sleep
>the next day I turned on my PC and opened qBittorrent because I like seeding certain torrents that I want to keep alive but all 100+ torrents were gone and the settings were reset to default. If it weren't for me having a folder of torrents I would have to add them yet again.
>I go to the qBittorrent forums to see if I'm the only one and nope, there's lots of people reporting the same shit
>I uninstalled qBit and went back to uTorrent and all is well.
I will never trust /g/ again
Ever qbit thread has about 70% of it dedicated to people calling it shit. Yet you still went to install it.
Why do fucking faggots like you keep doing this? /g/ is calling shit it must be super elite actually. It works for those 4 guys apparently, the others must all be retards, I can be elite too.
>bawww it's shit fuck you /g/ I fell for teh meem
Go eat dicks.
im convinced qBittorrent hate threads (which are like, a regular thread for some reason? wtf??) are just utorrent devs shilling. ive had qbt installed on a bunch of machines for a while now and have had literally zero problems. you have to be a complete fucking retard to have trouble with it. stop spamming these stupid fucking threads we dont need 2 threads about qbittorrent every day you fucking spastic cunts. if you hate it so much just dont use it you fucking idiots
>this entire fucking thread
Goddamn, what is wrong with you people?
Literally none of this applies to me.
Everything "just works". Seriously, I have not had a single problem with Debian or any of the so called "meme programs".
And if I don't know how to do something or am confused it just requires one quick look at the faq or just googling the problem to get the answer I need within a couple of minutes.
same thing happened here. Had to hard restart Ubuntu (it got hanged, happens sometimes). Next reboot - all my torrents are gone.
I'm really furious now, any alternatives to qBittorrent?
Are you literally retarded? Nothing is wrong with qBittorrent. You people always complain about how terrible it is, but no evidence has ever been provided. OP was fucking stupid and doesn't know how to close programs, so of course something went wrong for him.
I've hard shutdown my computer (Xubuntu) lots of times, many while downloading shit in qBittorrent and the worst that has happened is that qBit has had to check the torrent before starting the download again.
>No, it really doesn't. I fell for it like OP. Torrent randomly stops for an hour all the time. uTorrent 2.2.1 it is.
This has literally never happened to me.
And I have used it extensively.
If Qbittorent works so poorly for you why don't you just switch? Why do you need to keep making threads about it and calling it a meme?
Just switch - no one cares what you're using.
Works fine for me lying devil you ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>still trying to push utorrent
What do mongoloids like you get out of propagating deprecated, compromised and never to be patched software? There are plenty of other torrent clients, not just utorrent and qbittorrent.
You're a brain damaged piece of shit that's spreading misinformation and causing vulnerabilities with your mental diarrhea, do the world a favor and kill yourself.
If you don't like qbittorrent or if it doesn't work for you, there's transmission, deluge, vuze and (ugh) tixati, and that's just on windows. There's absolutely no logical reason to use utorrent in this day and age.
there is LITERALLY a single autist, the OP, on a quest to discredit Qbittorent for absolutely no legitimate reason
he brings it up out of fucking nowhere with the same meme criticisms. Its often yet spread out enough that I know its one consistent poster and not a small group of retarded people
jesus christ fuck off
Deluge got one mayor flaw for me. It can't open torrent folder on double clicking, but instead goes one folder up and you have manualy to find it. Drove me mad. Qbit is totally ok, only its ugly.
>download seasons 1-10 in one torrent
>pick individual episodes out of the files
>the UI makes this unconventional
>it says 100% downloaded, but the files I picked aren't fully downloaded
>there are extra files I didn't pick out in download folder
>download season 1-10 in one torrent
>pick individual episodes out of the files
>the UI has checklist for each files and this makes it easy
>the individual files are downloaded completely
>no other file was downloaded
qBit is god.
Also, some trackers don't support anything but qBit, so there's also that.
>Im being paid to shill utorrent
No issues but then again I don't have over a hundreds torrents going at once either.
And why the fuck did you switch if you had no problem with utorrent? Are you trying to be trendy or just retarded?
>I wish there was a Windows version of Transmission
There is a Windows version out there. It's called Transmission Qt. It's not official, but it works.
There's an official version coming with 2.90, as well, and it will probably become the only Windows version.
Windows works just fine, qbittorent too.
I've installed qbittorent on a few win7, some 8.1 and a bunch of 10's, works on the pre-release 10, on w2008r2, w2012r2 and the w2016 technical preview.
At least it worked when I tried it.
So I think our comrade is either shilling for utorrent, a retard or has bad luck.
It's a thing that has happened 1-2 times now. The shutdown process hangs, it says that the CPU Core #2 is stuck. Won't shut down unless I make a hard shutdown. qBittorrent was blank, had to reload every single torrent, had to recheck them, and now they're loaded again.
I'm attaching a screenshot as a proof, if someone wouldn't believe me.
By the way I like qBittorrent, but this is absolutely unacceptable. One wrong shutdown, and all my torrents are gone? Laughable.
>It's a thing that has happened 1-2 times now. The shutdown process hangs
This is a known problem that isn't fixed at all even for months and months.
qBittorrent is a complete piece of shit.
>The shutdown process hangs, it says that the CPU Core #2 is stuck. Won't shut down unless I make a hard shutdown. qBittorrent was blank, had to reload every single torrent, had to recheck them, and now they're loaded again.
This happened to me twice on qBittorrent after shutting down Windows and I switched to Transmission Qt, which never loses a torrent or settings.
qBitTorrent is a steaming pile of shit, don't use it
Transmission is the best for OS X and Linux
Deluge is the best for Windows
But you have to use a Qt version on Windows don't you, and Qt is shit. And it's an unofficial build.
Deluge is the best for Windows I've come across. Lightweight, does everything it needs to do, stable as fuck. It's what I always recommend to friends / normies because it's so easy to install and use.
>But you have to use a Qt version on Windows don't you, and Qt is shit. And it's an unofficial build.
If I can use Transmission Qt on the top 10 private trackers in the world, it will work for your shitty public trackers.
qBittorrent, Deluge, Transmission, rtorrent, and aria2 are the ONLY acceptable clients.
>tfw already been using aria2 for years
Utorrent is easily the best torrent client by far.
However it does have dumb shit like ads and malware installers which makes untrustworthy.
If Utorrent were ever made open source and got rid of all that crap, everyone would drop their current client for it, because it's that much better than any other client.
