If Linux is so bad according to you, why does Microsoft love it, according to their CEO?
Why did Microsoft build their own Linux distro, if Windows is better?
And why are they trying to build Linux compatibility into Windows 10 now?
Isn't it time you just admitted that Linux is the future and switched to the real thing, rather than waiting for Microsoft to switch you to it anyway?
>If Linux is so bad according to you
It's not. I use it on my media center computer. It runs Ubuntu and Kodi. I used Ubuntu exculively for quite a few years but my job required me to use applications that don't work on Linux.
Hey Linux fag, if Linux is sooooo good, then why is the community focused on trying to port over gayms and applications instead of making the platform more stable?
Am I the only one on /g/ who uses both Windows 10and Linux? I use Windows 10 for Muh powershell and gaymen, and I use Linux for my important files.
As for the Microsoft thing, this is honestly a good thing, this could mean Microsoft has plans for cross platform support on both Linux and Windows, which in the long run could mean things like DirectX support or a wider variety of programs to use on Linux.
>most of the devices
I hope you don't mean PC? Sure, most phones and tablets run a Unix variant, but that's not Microsoft's main concern. Microsoft is all about their PC platform. Their phone OS was just a gimmick to make more money off of the people who have never used anything but Windows and don't want to learn anything else.
Gimme GCC, G++ and gpp compiler for windows and I'll be content.
I don't give a shit about your thread modelling or w/e. Just want them compilers.
Also make. I would use windows if I could use make.
oh well haha im sure the general consensus is c# is better but i like c++ more
Even Saint Richard prefers Java over C++
>Project Astoria, also known as Windows Bridge for Android, is a toolkit that allows running Android apps on Windows 10 Mobile devices.
which is dead
They removed it in one of the later W10M previews
>Why did Microsoft build their own Linux distro
They built a cloud switch from it.
Big deal, it's not like they are pushing out a new distro, they are simply using it as embedded firmware
A loonix subsystem will just make Loonix distros even more superfluous than before.
This is amazing - Linux is great, the software that is usually required to make it work sucks.
Cygwin and MinGW BTFO.
I dont think you fully understand the implications of the article. Microsoft have embedded a bridge between linux subsystems and microsoft operating systems into their phone software
The people that use Linux distributions seem to prefer using CLI. That's why anything with GUI on it is shitty. I am forced to use CLI on Linux to solve problems that occur out of nowhere. Whereas on Windows, I use command prompt by choice when I want to do hacker level stuffs like ipconfig, netsh, dir, etc.
I never said Linux was bad.
It's just it doesn't run some of my favorite software at 100% performance(or at all for that matter). Their solution is to literally use something entirely different.
