Internet speed test thread!
Lets see some of those poor guys with rural DSL and satellite internetl.
Not poor, I just live in France

>I just live in France
Rural France, so no fiber at your door yet?
£25 a month for this...
is this a joke thread
What I always find impressive about mine isn't the speed itself, but how many people have a faster connection than me in my country.
I pay for 50/50 and I do not know why my upload is this good.
I live in a smaller city, about 75,000 citizens.
I'll bite
$100 for 500GB of data and these speeds
kneel before the king, plebs
It's acting up.

nice latency m8
>>52916027
date of speedtest 10/30/2015..... you tried?

I'm currently on wifi so i wen't back in my history

dude!
>>52915906
Faster that 51% of au.... U wot m8
Not too bad for Australian ADSL

You're testing on a server in the same city, of course your latency is low. Now test in California.
>>52915906
$80/month
Australia confirmed dildos, I'm just glad there's something at all tbqh
>>52916068
Australian internet is fucked. An ex-government company holds a monopoly on all the copper and uses barely trained contractors to bandaid the fuck out of everything instead of fixing it.
Seriously, I work at an aussie ISP and we had a fault with a customer's lead in cable. The techs that attended rigged up a temporary cable (temporary meaning it will be replaced sometime in the next few years) and put a plastic shopping bag over the joint to keep it dry. During rain, the bag would fill with water and fall down, knocking the service offline. So another tech would go out and... replace the bag.

...cunce
>>52916130
That seems fucked. You're either on a congested Telstra wholesale service or you've got something downloading in the background.
What's your downstream attenuation and SNR?
>>52915970
Nice IP

iinet/tpg/etc is a joke tbqh senpai
>>52916182
Internode still has some decent people, but they're getting harder to find as they hire more idiots/bring over more iiNet teams
50/mo no cap. Northwest Kansas.

You got me :^)
Hooray for Telstra ADSL2.
TV and Internet package for the total of 25 US dollars a month. Absolutely love living here~ The building has "lucky" 888mbps/222mbps but its like 45 a month --- and I hardly use what I have so no reason to upgrade... yet...
>>52916182
was an Adam customer ;_;
>>52915737
Do you not have Virgin in your area? They are by far and away the best ISP in the country. Separate infrastructure and much faster and more reliable speeds.
heh. heh. boys will be boys

lol
>>52915647
Mostly Firefox and slow Pentium 4 HT computer are the culprit for this slow connection. For fucks sake,I have a Marvel Yukon GbE chip.
>>52917552
Why dont you buy a 8 years old PC with a Core2Duo m8 ? I know you must not be rich, but it's affordable.

The fuck, did they NEVER HEAR of duct tape? At least that would work better...
I fixed a ~20m CAT5 cable with pliers (to twist the wires together enough to make good contact) then wrapped everything up and tested - still works to this day,it's used to FTP games on my old modded Xbox.
>pic unrelated,firefox acts up sometimes.
I tested on a Comcast server for maximum kek.
Google cant get here fast enough.
I pay 21 bux for this
It sucks.

I'm living near Paris, not rural at all. In my town, there is fiber only for buildings and some house, but not mine.
>>52915647
recently upgraded to fiber after years of dsl hell. feels good!
I had 200 down at my old place :<
Rural Indiana during a lake effect snow squall.Testing download speed........................................
Download: 3.88 Mbit/s
Testing upload speed..................................................
Upload: 0.95 Mbit/s
I live in a shithole, nothing weird.

Holy shit, I'm a telecoms tech in the UK, I'd cry at that :|
supposed too be 300 over 50 but i'm on wifi
It's supposed to be 100/100 but whatever, it gets to 10-12MB/s when I'm actually downloading so that's good enough for me.
>>52923876
ouch
Expected to see more of this
>>52915706
kek I live in Paris, and this is with bouygues, 19.99€/month. At least I can leave when I want with no termination fee.
>>52915906
>data caps
This is incredible. Here all the plans are TV+phone+non capped internet for 20€/month. ~45€ if you want fiber usually.
>live in dorm
>university's wifi
I know it's shit, but they've never bothered me. Only other option here is TWC with a lot faster speed, but do they monitor for torrents?
>sweden
>town of ~15k pop
>almost everyone has fiber to their building
feelsgoodman
>>52923876
>literally just connected to 6mb/s optus
feelsgoodman
i don't eat much to pay for these speeds in australia
Guys quick question. Do countries bottleneck your bandwidth? For example, if you have 100Mb/s DL in your country and try to speedtest a country on the other side of the planet, does it get to something like 20Mb/s because the other country has shit connections or is it just due to distance?
Sorry if it's messy to read, i tried to type in English at my best
I have dsl (12/3), satellite (22/6) and fiber (1000/1000).
>>52925209
do you?
>tfw just finished wiring the house
My ISP doesn't seem to limit upload properly, I got 400 up when I was wiring yesterday, paying for 100/100
>at university
>tfw speeds at home in london are literally 6 times slower than this
