Oh yeah, like the were hundreds of really high-quality games when Flash first came out. The only thing that's really improved is the number of people with enough knowledge to teach others how to use it, which will happen with any widespread language.
Flash is pretty bad for anything above a certain size limit anyway, refer to The Binding of Isaac and the remake, TBoI: Rebirth (contrary to complaints about content changes, the only real problem with it is the fact that Edmund split with Danny so he couldn't use the superior OST).

I don't think anyone uses flash because they want to see flash ads (which should be blocked along with all other ads). I still have flash installed because I do, in fact, enjoy a few games that are made in flash and will never be ported to HTML5. Until shumway becomes a usable product, I'm not going to uninstall flash.

Excuse my ignorance but isn't everything from animations to sounds included in ONE .swf file with Flash?

And isn't it that there's for the same project you'd have to access several files instead of just one with HTML5?

Also, I don't even know how I could create some animated and interactive HTML5 content as quickly and easy as I could with Flash.

Flash was a giant clusterfuck but it was fun as hell for small animation projects.
