what web browser does /g/ use?
i was always satisfied with Firefox, and i heard about waterfox a while ago, so i decided to try it out - can't say i'm unsatisfied
>>
>>52885292
> waterfox
But there's 64bit FF now.
>>
I use Chrome Canary because never had any problems with it what so ever and it works faster than Chrome for me. Also get the latest botnet updates.
>>
I use FF dev its pretty good

I want a new browser for Linux

My requirements:

>Firefox fork
>lightweight and fast

I'd go for a Chrome fork for simplicity, but I can't tile tabs vertically, which makes it unusable to me.
>>
>>52885292
Damn, Waterfox's logo is really shitty now since I last used it
>>
>>52885492
Why not just Firefox?

Not saying you should, just asking.
>>
>>52885492
Just de-bloat firefox.
>>
>>52885762
>>52885778
I generally find later version of Firefox kind of sluggish.

I'm on IceCat right now, and I'm liking its speed and lightweight, but a lot of features of webpages are broken.
>>
>>52885709
as long as it runs smoothly, i don't give a damn about the logo
>>
>>52885292
Chromium. It's just the snappiest browser I've used, no firefox fork comes near when it comes to speed and smoothness.
>>
>>52885492
Iceweasel
Palemoon
IceCat

Otherwise just use normal Firefox you faggot.
>>
>>52885292
I use icecat but I'm slowly getting tired of it. Can someone recommend another fork that can use h264 on YouTube and has good plug in compatability
>>
>>52885965
but what about other functions? video playing, stability, plugins?
>>
>>52885846
>i don't give a damn about the logo
you are not /g/
>>
>>52885990
I've found a guy who compiles builds with codec and sync support so I can watch any video. I have absolutely no problems, no crashes, no hangs, no retarded memory leaks and for example, it uses just as much RAM and CPU as Palemoon, Cyberfox and Waterfox (I know because I tested it). No reason to go for Opera or Vivaldi, they're just Chromium with glaze. If you're paranoid about privacy, you can go for Iridium, it's just as snappy as Chromium, but it has muh privacy adjustments.
>>
>>52885449
Total pleb here, what do you mean by botnet updates?
>>
using icecat as of a few days ago.
>>
>>52885492
>but I can't tile tabs vertically
Hmmmm.....
>Cant needlessly waste space
There we go....

>waste space

pic related is how most websites look today

>wasting empty wallpaper space

If anything, having tabs on the side allows for better vertical space, which is much more valuable than horizontal space today.

Waterfox UI and logo took a nosedive a while ago. Are they trying accentuate the arrow? I'm not /gd/ or anything but that is one of the worst logos I've seen worse than that Olympic dick up the ass logo that got scrapped.

I use palemoon mostly now but I still got waterfox for keeping my porn tabs open on.
>>
>>52885292
You use a meme browser that was started by a 16 year old, who did/does nothing more than compile Firefox using ICC, and has an "Official Sub Reddit" as it's only discussion/support forum?
>>
firefox with Umatrix, http by default, ublock origin, noscript (with alow scripts globally on) and disable hello pocket reader addons for when i look at girls on the internet and Konqueror for everything else pretty much.

>>
>>52885292
I'm only stuck on Firefox because of the plugins I need, obviously NoScript, Thumbnail Zoom Plus, Videodownloader and downthemall. Can I get these on WaterFox?
>>
>>52886088
Chrome is botnet. Canary is dev Chrome. Therefore, more up to date botnet.
>>
>>52887531
People who've used TOR have been caught. Are you really worried the NSA is interested into you fapping to lolis and shitposting on chans? Do you really think you can be completely private? Because using mememoon is hardly enough. If you're serious about muh botnet, I hope you're running your browser via VM and behind several VPNs
>>
Is there really anything wrong with using default Chrome? Yes I understand google is storing data and such but, I really don't do anything suspicious and chrome looks great.

>>
Chrome
>>
>>52887694
No, nothing wrong, just don't browse while being logged in into your Gmail account. Use ublock and https everywhere and you have nothing to worry about. Again, if you're worried about privacy but still want all the benefits and performance of Chromium, use Iridium. If you want to be on the bleeding edge of browser development, use Chromium itself. There's absolutely no reason to suffer browsing with a shitty, outdated ESR version of Firefox such as Palemoon.
>>
>>52887647
I was just answering Anons question. No need to project here.
>>
>>52887708
>he doesn't make all of his windows installs with classic theme

Lmfao, disable your aero/flat theme pajeet.
>>
>>52888029
I don't think you know what projecting is. He was making a statement on how just simply using a half-assed forked browser isn't going to stop "le botnet boogeyman"

You're just like those people who through around "literally" out of context and in everything they say.
>>
>>52888094
You literally sound like a faggot.

>>
>>52887784
Is Iridium really any less botnet? Doesn't it phone home to its own servers instead?
>>
>>52886082
You find Chromium snappier because every single Firefox fork you tried was single process. Try again with e10s enabled.
>>
>>52889237

>>
>>52886886
yeah, sorry i meant https by default, that 1 letter mistake can make a big difference.

failed have i, into exile i go.
>>
>>52889281
Doesn't Nightly have e10s enabled?
>>
>>52889330
Yes, and Aurora. Not sure about beta.
>>
>>52889281
I'm using it with e10s and some of the changes recommended in the falcon guide as well as the wiki, and Chromium still feels snappier.
>>
>>52889349
I've used Nightly and it's not snappier than Chromium. It tended to have random hangs.
>>
>>52889363
I've used both and I did not notice a difference. Of course once you have more than 20 tabs open, Firefox destroys Chrome in performance.
>>
>>52885431
Waterfox just feels faster for some reason.
>>
>>52887531
Is it like, actual, confirmed botnet? Or is it just Google's version of a botnet. I don't mind selling myself out to Google, but I don't want my computer compiling code for Russians/Chinese while I sleep.

Chromium and SeaMonkey.

Nice try pajeet. Where I come from, Firefox is the default web browser, if there even is one.
