It's kind of a shame really, BB10 is really good but not yet top tier level as webOS, but getting there.

Have the passport, great phone, but I'd much rather a torch/priv slider.
>>
BB expects you to license mobile device management from them at assrape prices while running a proprietary server for such (even more $$$ and pain in the ass). Meanwhile Apple and Google let you hook directly up to Microsoft Exchange for email, and run whatever mobile device management product you want for much less (much simpler and cheaper). This makes BB dead to most corporations.

It has no apps at all, which makes it dead to end users.

Blackberry is dead, a husk that Chen is stalling for time to pick all the fat from, some of the meat too, and then sell the software stuff of value to the highest bidder.
>>
>>52869790

India? No. But keep reaching for that low hanging fruit.

Microsoft runs enterprise. For better or worse, that's the way it is.

Enterprise loves exchange. Outlook integration, active directory integration, etc... I've been to many fortune 500 and global 1000 companies and I haven't been to one yet that doesn't primarily use exchange for email.

One mail server can send a few emails for one user and one mail server can send many emails for 50k people. Point being percentage of servers on the Internet doesn't have a lot to do with the number of people using exchange, especially with zombie PCS sending shit loads of spam.
>>
>>52873234
>Just look up some market share stats.
I didn't say Exchange runs enterprise, I said Microsoft runs Enterprise.

However, those numbers are also off. There are more FE servers than that in the O365 NAMPROD04 cluster, so...

Well in murrica, I'm not surprised. You guys can't even into chip credit cards yet, meanwhile the rest of the world's had them for, what, a decade? I think you guys just get stuck with old tech and get too scared to upgrade. Here in Canada and most of civilised Europe though, MS is like a bad memory.

lol, wrong again.

You'd be surprised to find out how many Canadian companies and government institutions are running hybrid Exchange with Office365.

Not him, but just stop, it's so obvious you're designated. My job title is literally "Linux Sysadmin", I work in enterprise in Canada. Then again, I could be lying, but free software doesn't need paid shills like you, does it now? Nobody wants your software, pahjeet, go back to making curry or whatever your country's actual export is.

>>
>>52873955
>Linux Sysadmin
Congrats. Or something.

My title is Sr. Systems Architect. So yay me?

You resort to calling me Pahjeet, yet the generally accepted Active Directory saturation for medium to large business is about 90%. Even if it were only 60%, it's still the lions share.

There are very few groupware suites that as well integrated and compelling as Exchange. Especially when you consider Active Directory's market penetration. That being said, IBM uses mostly Domino, and I think Groupwise is still a thing, though I'm not sure for how much longer.

My point I suppose is that any good engineer / admin / architect will look at the needs of $project and use the tools to implement it with the lowest TCO. Sometimes those products are Microsoft. Some times they're not.

My netmon's are mostly CentOS running ZenOSS, because I don't want to make the changes required for SCOM, and have a quantity of non Windows machines anyway.

The main problem with this phone is the keyboard being so short. I would have preferred a slide out keyboard like the torch or a longer phone even, but "muh passport-sized". It's quite frustrating to use it and have your thumb only slide so far before going onto the screen.

The capacitive keyboard otherwise kicks ass, but unfortunately doesn't come with a pointer.
>>
Passport's just too large. if you want the same specs, smaller form factor, get the Q10.
>>
>>52874702
This, quite honest. The passport is a novelty until you get a cursor to actually use its main selling point. It's not like this will be the first BlackBerry with both touch and cursor, or the first QNX with a cursor.
>>
>>52869790
DESU BlackBerry OS is good for productive work. I mean .. Most social apps on it are shitty. So you would focus more on productive apps and maybe a music player. I wouldn't mind getting a q10 but i need snapchat man. I fucking NEEED it.

Not all Android apps can be side loaded. Those that can generally run slow and nearly always redraw if you need to multitask. Native bb10 apps never redraw but have been abandoned by most developers.

There hasn't been a new bb10 os leak in months (they stopped updating it officially).

I loved my q10 but that platform is dead as fuck. Switched to an LG g3.

Almost every single company on the planet is microsoft based in its emailing system and user directory system.

I have the silver edition and it's totally awesome. I have no idea what the normal passport's antenna is like, but I mainly bought it because my Z10's reception sucked ass and the silver edition supposedly has a better antenna.

Surely you meant objectively shit for everything aspect ratio?
Document usage, you want a portrait orientation with that keyboard.
Media consumption and games, you want landscape, at least 3:2.
You want something that's comfortable to hold in one hand? Yeah let's make a fucking SQUARE.
