Because I like Vivaldi the most. From the past year or two, it has been the most stable browser of those that I've tried.
Had to switch from FF 42 or 43 because it kept crashing like mad in W10 Enterprise 64b.
Switched to Palemoon, it actually worked for a few days without crashing but started crashing like FF used to.
Switched to Vivaldi and I've had one crash in since November 2015.
For some reason in LTSB Enterprise 64b. in my laptop Palemoon is crash-free
Then what are you using, Mac?
I'm running Chromium on Fedora with 20 tabs perfectly fine with an old laptop, 4GB RAM. I used to use Win10, but having just a few tabs still made it lag soooo badly.
I rather let some stupid company mine harmless metadata about me while I'm able to work properly with a good program that just works, rather than always using shit software that just makes me angry every time I use it just so a no-name company doesn't know I watch latex porn. Big fucking deal if they know shit like that.
I'm actually using Fedora 23. It's the CPU utilization that's the problem, not RAM. Firefox doesn't do this.
>Firefox being for you
Stop using outdated pictures, christ. Firefox is terrible now.
>he cares about Internet freedom
I do use chromium.
Mostly because its the only browser in Linux that will allow me to fully use the intranet homepage at work. I find it faster than Firefox but I do believe its a botnet. I'm not a pedo or a drug dealer tho so I don't really care..
there's no way (that i've found) to have it load tabs on demand upon browser startup
also a way to have the tab bar scrollable (after a number of tabs, the bar becomes unusable as they just get smaller and smaller)
It has rendering issues on my PC.
And I'm not really bothered much by the botnet. At most they can see my porn collection.
Wtf can Google do with some shitty info on my browsing habits, come to my home, abduct me and sell my organs?
I block ads anyway, so there's not much they can target me for.
How often do you senpaitachi manually update pepperflash? I do it every 6 months or so
Also the latest ppflash release fucked up the version number in chrome:plugins for me but regarless of this it just werks even when i disable the built-in npapi
This is objectively wrong. It does handle dozens of porn tabs a bit worse than chrome if you have lots of extensions and stuff installed (one badly written rss extension which i use basically crashes it every time i turn it on) but otherwise it's a perfectly stable browser
>not using Darth Vader Browser
>not using Airbus Browser
>not browsing from 2010 /g/ memes
GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER
Nowadays im using this one. There r stillsome bugs but its on beta.
>palemoon doesnt ship with proprietary DRM modules and support bleeding edge and buggy web "drafts"
>HURR DEPRECATED - Youtube
I respect chromium only because the website-as-app feature is extremely useful sometimes but fuck /g/ needs to get a clue
because it has no customization and was made by an advertisement company.
and nightly is faster anyway.
Don't forget to go to chrome://flags and enable every possible gpu acceleration. Pic related, memory usage is almost entirely from Chromium.
The 2 improvements I want to see most are the ability to place a link between 2 tabs and have it open there and for the omnibox to show the most visited links when you start typing ala firefox. It doesn't seem to learn regardless of which link you choose in the dropdown.
Safari rocks the world.
Vivaldi feels extremely unfinished to me. You can't even drag a tab out of the window and the whole group tab thing is nice, but works really shitty. Also the browser is extremely slow.
Still like many aspects about it and hope this will become a real browser some time soon, though considering this whole vivaldi.rocks thread I guess vivaldi is also just selling my data.
Because THIS SHIT fucking happens when I open it.
If anyone tells you that chromium is not a botnet, he's a fucking shill
>using Windows 10
>not using free software
You should be ashamed of yourselves. None of you even deserve to own a computer. The money you spent on computers would be much better spent providing computers running free-software to the poor.
Because I'm already using a better browser
Because Chrom* browsers never get rid of their cache, leading to me having dozens of gigabytes wasted on my SSD. With Firefox and its derivatives you can set it so it exclusively uses your RAM as its cache.
Other than that deal breaker, all browsers are pretty much the same.
So you're saying this company has an ID on me and they're monitoring what I do online. They're not using this data to send me ads, they're not interfering with my browsing in any way and I've seen no real effect their monitoring has caused.
Why should I be concerned?
You shouldn't. Since you're posting on 4chan and presumably don't have a 4chan Pass (TM), Google already knows what you're doing. By extension, the American, British, Australian, Canadian and Kiwi governments (at the very least) know what you're doing. No reason to be worried, though! I'm sure they're doing the best they can to protect your interests and privacy.
More than likely what's being sent by me (on 4chan, on gmail and on chromium) is merely being scanned with data-collection algorithms and largely ignored unless someone at Google is called upon to produce this data, such as for suspicion of criminal activity. I think that, philosophically, we are in disagreement.
