You know, it's possible to have a laptop that doesn't reach 97C or throttle. My Thinkpad for example has the same CPU as OP's MBP. It tops out at about 70C with CPU at full load, and about 80C with both CPU and GPU going.

Also OS X can be made to work in a VM, though last I tried it, it wasn't as pleasant to use as native, due to using the GPU a lot. Of course a KVM setup with PCIe passthrough should fix that.
