Firefox 44, it's slow as shit and youtube doesnt work properly. Did google sabotage this deliberately or what? I'm thinking about jumping to chrome, it's way more snappy from end user standpoint.

WORKS FINE FOR ME DESU BAKA SENPAI
>>
>>52673848
you tube has problem even with 43.
try allow ff to open popup on firefox when on youtube. in 43 works
>>
>>52673848
47.0a1, works perfectly. I mean, plenty of bugs here and there because it's alpha, but jewtube plays without problems. Try a 64-bit beta with Electrolysis (e10s).
>>
>>52673848
>Did google sabotage this deliberately
Almost certainly yes, but as Firefox keeps getting worse and worse how does it even matter?

Try out Chromium. It plays youtube as fast as Chrome but it's not as much botnet. Other thing you can try is to disable Flash and use a user agent spoofer add-on to make Youtube to think you're using Chrome.
>>
>>52673848
werks for me
are you using the 64bit version?
are you using flash? you shouldn't
>>
On my machine, it works.
>>
>it's way more snappy
What does this even mean, is this some Google marketing buzzword?
>>
>>52673848
>not browsing web with links2 -g
>not using youtube-dl to pipe vidya to vlc

is there a way i can actually make posts on fourchins from links2?
>>
Can anyone confirm DownThemAll still works in Firefox 44? If it ain't working, not gonna upgrade this shit pass 43.0.4.
>>
i did benchmarks
i opened up https://www.google.com/starwars/ on both chrome latest and firefox 44

it opens up same speed on google and firefox but on firefox the scrolling is so slow while on chrome it's fast and smooth. Can you do the same thing and tell me if it's the same for you?
>>
>>52674044
>DownThemAll
is that like a shitty version of wget?
>>
>>52674019

Same stuff but an addon with GUI.

seems to be working on 45, wget is better and youtube-dl aswell.
>>
>>52673848
firefox is a /g/ meme browser. you should always use the opposite of what /g/ says you should use
>>
>>52675340
listening to /g/ is really useful in some cases, just make sure you don't listen to shills
>>
mozilla is sabbotaging it themselves

they always turn on hardware acceleration by default and depending of your hardware it may or may not go to shit. in my case it does.

try disabling hardware acceleration. for some reason it seems they fucked up something else this time.
>>
get mpv+youtube-dl and install open with addon desu senpai

I had a lot of problems with youtube too on Windows 10. Today I made a System Restore (to Windows 10) because I fucked up all Windows apps (eve the Windows Store) trying to fix Groove Music and everything works fine now. Fucking Windows as a service, they break a lot of apps and things on their way, but lastest build is pretty decent now.
>>
>>52673848
Google did it with Opera, now they at Firefox.

literally cannot use firefox for youtube, drops frames like crazy even on SD

mpv works nicely for me, pretty much no drops

use this because my computer doesn't handle 4K good

What's new in 45 beta?
>>
>>52679266
Ok apparently there's literally nothing new.
>>
>>52675479
If it just autoupdates will it reset that setting though? If someone had problems with hardware accel, I can't see why it would suddenly be a problem only in 44.
>>
vimperator broke for 44 so i reverted back
>>
>>52679170
no problem with mine either
assuming you're op, your FF is just borked. you probably have a poorly compatible or glitchy extension.
>>
43 introduced some code, so that embedded youtube videos no longer use flash, but used the new html5 player. It was a bit broken in 43, and the buttons didn't show up properly, but now it works fine.

Wait, wait. Hold the phone. What's wrong with Firefox x64? I use it and haven't noticed any issues/problems with it in my experience with it so far over the past few months.

There's nothing wrong with any kind of Firefox, just dumb people who can't into computers.

Well, besides the SJW stuff.

Does anyone know what to do against firefox crashing after achieving 1.5 gb or so ish?
years back I could go 6gb with hundreds of tabs open and no crashing

Now I have a fuckton of bookmarks and the browser freezes every few seconds

Any help? Should I index and catagorize the bookmarks into folders so it will run faster?

What was that browser the opera founders were making again

I mean I can stick with opera 12 for only so long
>>

its called Chrome with a different header
>>
>>52680617
don't be coy anon that's not what I ment
>>
>>52680642

opera is literally a reskinned chrome

the most popular extention is literally to allow you to install the chrome addons

its built on the chrominium back end the top header area is the only difference
>>

https://vivaldi.com/ got the name
this is what I ment you coy cunt, jesus
>>
>>52680603
>>52680669
Vivaldi is what it's called
>>
>>52680742
Vivaldi is a Chrome reskin as well. Or, to be exact, a massive addon for Chrome. It's still the same shit underneath, including Blink. Vivaldi even takes it a step further by allowing you to install Chrome addons out of the box.
>>
>>52679763
>DRM with proprietary blob
agreed that drm is shit, but you can disable it
>hello botnet
pls look up what botnet means, and again you can easily disable it
>pocket proprietary spyware
the code related to pocket that's in firefox (as with *all* code in firefox) is free, and yet again, just disable it if you don't want it
>in-browser tracking ads
mozilla shut this program down a little while ago, good riddance!
>ponies
i honestly have no clue what you mean here
>forced signed addons used to discriminate against addons that aren't SJW-approved
as long as it's not for distribution on their add-ons site, getting an add-on signed is easy as fuck and is completely automated so can't really be used to discriminate. agreed it's unnecessary though (if you've got weird shit on your computer that's trying to install add-ons, you've got bigger problems)
>removal of XUL soon
xul is shit. don't like what we're gonna lose by its removal though...
>removal of features and options with every update
agreed, they need to stop removing prefs like what page to open in new tabs (even bloody ie has an option for this)
>buggier and slower with every update
never noticed this myself
>>
>>52679616
I've been using the 64-bit builds for 4-5 years something (since Fx4, I believe?) and have never noticed any problems
