Could I potentially write a really popular piece of software that decides to use a file extension that already exists differently than what the standard is?
Is there nothing an existing developer that coined a particular extension can do about this?
if you both use the same extension, you just have to deal with people getting confused, or possibly your program trying to open something that contains what it thinks is garbage.
As far as I know there's nothing stopping you but good practice.
WHY DOES THIS ABORTION OF A FORMAT EVEN EXIST
WAS PDF TOO FANCY AND SUPPORTED FOR YOU
I have an old wooden handle, that came off of God knows what, that I attach to the files I'm using at work. I've got huge hands and without the handle I'm always smacking my knuckles against the parts I'm deburring, and getting them scraped up. The handle prevents that. It also seems to give me better leverage, making for more efficient deburring.
Pic related isn't so much of an extension, but it's a must have imo. I run my file card over the files I use at work almost daily, and they stay nice and sharp much longer. I've got one file I've been using pretty heavily for two years now, and it's still almost like new. I've noticed other people like to swipe my files at every available opportunity, because aside from brand new ones, mine are usually the best in the shop. Everyone loves a good file, but don't want to take the time to take care of one to keep it in good shape, the lazy fucks.
There's also or was a program called packass some where do to with winamp, I don't remember. It was basically a archiver
