Windows 10 Mobile killed it. UWP is a meme and the OS itself runs like it's a fucking alpha build.

It's amazing on a flagship the 928 and the icon were beasts with amazing cammeras and a lagfree os

8 was amazing becuase it had Facebook message integration in the stock messenger app
8.1 was alright still lagless but dropped the integrated messaging app

I've never seen a resuming screen and my 928s battery seemed to last daysss even when I binge played asphalt 8 on max settings.
The only app I used that the phone didn't have was Snapchat but there were cliants for it

Yes it has facebook instagram 4chan cliant twitter Pandora spotify all major games and emulators (all flawless) and the app for my obsure credit union

That is total bullshit. I have my lumia 820 for 3 years now and it never quit IE on me. I cannot speak for shitty programmed third party apps but all I use works fine.

Lumia 920 here.

Waiting desperately for Surface Phone t b h.
>>
>>52665454

This never happens. Who the hell asks "do you have an Android or iPhone?"

>>52665457 here. Let me tell you what happens 90% of the time (in the 3+ years I've had it) when a normie sees my phone:

>"That's a nice case."
>"It's not a case, it's part of the phone."
>"Oh, you mean you can't take it off?"
Almost never goddamn fails.

>No money because of studying
>Check email and browse using feature phone given by gf (she has a job as a teacher)
>She knows I like WP
>She buys me a Lumia 435 as graduation gift
>UI is quick, love the tiles, quickly learn to organize them, find options and get used to them, screen bright, screen lock, enable WiFi, the works.
>Get a 16GB SD card, 8 GB is good but I want more. Now I can move Apps and other content into it with no problem at all
>Antivirus? Not needed
>Shit camera but meh, I'll get a better one when I get a job
>GPS does work without internet. Some low-end Samsung phones couldn't
>Currently around 150 apps among media players, productivity, some games, emulators, utilities... No slowdown coming from it
>Hated virtual keyboards cause big fingers but this one actually works
>Got several"Resuming..." screens but barely lasts longer than 2-3 secs
>Data Sense actually helps keeping data usage in check

tl;dr gf gave me a cheap WP and I love it.

Oh God no

I had a friend of mine come to me and ask if he could forward on a 13 picture MMS on to me so I could then send it to his insurance broker.

I spent 5 minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't type a number in when I went to forward it (support online was rubbish) and another five minutes trying to see if there was any settings I could apply to make it work.

In the end I gave up and got the original sender to forward them on straight to my Zenfone which I then e-mailed to the broker without a hitch.

I then found out after another few minutes that I would have needed to save and/or email/sms the pictures one by one to myself...I couldn't do the whole message.

It's simple functionality like this and the way it does it so backwards is why I'll never even consider a Windows phone. Microsoft should just make their mobile department commit sudoku and be done with it
>>

>>
>>52662215

>>

this.
I got on the WP train with WP8, running on a Lumia 520. Which I still have.

Weak as shit hardware, but a quality built device.
Anyways, literally everything the Currynigger King produced that was shit about the OS was dismissed by 'oh, well WP7 was a proof of concept and WP8 is more of a BETA' and 'surely W10 will be awesome'

Yeah, it's not.
And the app store honestly feels like it's getting smaller with time.
Support for apps is getting dropped (no decent 4chan app out anymore, Imageboard browser sorta works, but 4charm was dropped since the captcha changes)
Various popular 3rd party replacement for big Android apps were removed with no effort from Microsoft to keep them in the ecosystem.

I wish I could like it, but my next phone will be an Android.
MS blew it with W10.
>>
>>52662215
>Do you like Windows Phones?
In general no, but I like mine and when I get a new phone it will not be botnet 10 so that kinda disqualifies them.
>>
Never used one, but interestingly have 2 co-workers who used to have 'em: both hated it very quickly. Dumped it in short order and got a Samsung Note or iPhone.

I didn't ask for details as I saw a dark look come over their faces when they told me. EVERY Windows phone owner I have ever met usually rid themselves of the device within 6 months.

Dunno.. but that's gotta be saying something.
>>
>>52662215
Have a 532, i really need a new phone, this just has a few niggles. it was $30 so i can't really complain, but the sub 720p screen and WiFi that just switches off and needs a restart is annoying
>>
>>52662215
I have a Lumia 920. I am not going to change it until it doesn't work anymore.
The size is fucking perfect and the camera is still equal to many high end phones out there. And it does everything I need.

Fuck new phones, it seems that 5 inches has become the bare minimum nowadays and I hate that so much.
>>
>>52665105
I'm not any of those people but the "never reply to me unless I think your reply is valid according to my ideology" is bullshit, so stop. This isn't your hug box or your echo chamber, so please stop raping us with your words.
>>
>>52668449
>I get a new phone it will not be botnet
So you aren't ever getting a new phone?
>>
>>52668527
You're misquoting me. I wrote "not botnet 10" but yes all cell phones are NSA tracking devices.
>>
The 640 is probably the best backup phone I've used and for the price, I don't understand why more people don't use one.

$50 for decent specs, great software and fantastic battery life. You'd be autistic to buy a Moto /g/ when you can save money and buy a Lumia 640.
>>
>>52668638
Literally no apps.

At least the Moto G is useful. It's a pretty awesome device if you get the 2GB variant.

I had the 640 and used it as my DD for a couple months. Went back to Android pretty quickly after realizing how shitty it was, Google's botnet is just so much more useful. I can actually use my phone for navigation and shit like that, whereas Bing Maps was awful.
>>
>>52668526
how newfag can one person be
>>
I like the OS, yes.
Few years ago I would also like WP devices, because microsoft was aiming low-end and the hardware was better and delivered a overall better experience than 512MB/1GB RAM androids for way less money. Now you have chinkphones runing android with a pretty good hardware and a solid experience with their 2GB RAM and hardware. Now WP devices are lacking hardware (until surface phones or new lumias arive). For me, until they present a new smartphone with similar hardware as Redmi3 for a similar price I wouldn't buy a new Windows Phone.
I just want camera, whatsapp/some other msg/voip and a browser. I don't need or want games or social apps.

HERE is pretty much the best piece of mobile GPS and navigation software you can get on a phone.

That's like the one thing WP does really well (and even that can be done on an Android, woo)

HERE maps was removed from the store and uninstallable when I had my 640. I don't know if it is back on the store, but HERE simply doesn't have transit information for my city. Bing Maps has transit information, but it is wrong and leads you on wild goose chases.

I eventually stopped going to new places when I had the 640 as my DD because I could never get proper directions. Thankfully Google Maps has no such problems.
>>
>>52662215
My 70$ brand new windows phone is way better than any comperable brand new 70$ ios or android phone both spec and performance wise. So my answer is yes.
