Depends a lot where you are. I'm in Seattle metro area and the only alternative to Comcast is Frontier fios (really Verizon trying to hide), which has anemic speeds. I may be paying a fortune but at least I get more than 150Mbps down. I really miss fiber gigabit I had in France though.
