Ah, the early-mid 2000s Dell Dimensions...
I had one in daily use until last year.
They never truly work as intended, but on the other hand they never really die either.

Please douse it in gasoline and set it on fire, it's the only way to be sure.

My 8400 Dimension just died a few months ago. It ran well on Lubuntu. I took a look and some of the caps had probably been leaking a while, and had finally got bad enough to die. I tried to replace the caps but my 45w iron is too weak, I messed the whole thing up.
