XP started a cancerous trend of pandering to consumers and conditioning them to expect a major UI revamp of the operating system every three years, even if the resultant revamp was half-assed or otherwise poorly designed

Hopefully the minimal trend introduced with 8 and 10 will linger long enough to mature, and then maybe we can finally put Win2k behind us as the poster child for the apex of Windows UI design.

My family had a computer since windows 3.1/DOS6.2 and we went straight to 98, but MY first computer was ME.
