lets bring the sexy back into /g/
Of course with the permisson of rms, he is the sexiest entity possible here anyway
>he spent our honeymoon money on a laserdisc player instead
Oh man, my favorite background of the W95-98 era
IIRC it was "programmed" with jumpers and the turbo button just switched between the two numbers
holly shit i have one with a 486 and 1Gb HDD with DOS / Win 3.1.1 shit still works afther 20 years
you can even lock it with a key and it wont boot it cost at the time prety much money
Not since 2009
>it wont boot it cost at the time prety much money
it's been proven here on this very board time and time again
you may love technology
but technology will always hate you
actually this is why we fight the machine wars...
of course we win... but at what cost?
I really like the aesthetic of it and I honestly find 4:3 a much better aspect ratio for laptops, especially now that smartphones and tablets are way better at filling the "convenient multimedia" niche.
How are there so many replies without a wood grain 2600? It's like you guys weren't even born until the 90s.
When you have the 2600 and your best friend has the colecovision. Best of times.
The color scheme and appearance tells me it's an HP keyboard for one of their early grey-box Vectras.
I bet they're as indestructible as the systems themselves.
Oh shit, a Pedion! I got one of those but the LCD cable is broken. :(
Tech companies will never make intresting tech ever again
I am pretty sure I have a charger for that Anon. If I can see the plug in, I would be able to tell for sure.
Also, we would have to figure out a way to talk about it. I would prefer to remain anonymous on 4chinz.
Well...if you do decide you want a box of dragon dildo's, I am on /g/ more often than I care to admit.
So you got the laptop for $5?
If that's the case....damn!!! Jaqaurius must have wanted to get rid of it quick. Too bad he wasn't smart enough to get the charged too.
I remember seeing Mini Discs in sci-fi movies during the 90s.
Truly appreciate the offer. If I can't find a nice OEM adapter I might hit you up.
>Jaqaurius must have wanted to get rid of it quick.
kek, I've got a pretty nice deal going with a local thrift store, the guy running all of the tech donations lets me in the back and I can have anything I want off of their recycling pallet for $5, he's started marking laptops down to $2 for some reason too.
Mostly just low-end NetBurst shit, but there's enough good shit that I've turned into a borderline hoarder trying to save it all.
oh wait, it's actually not that vintage
Yeah, I've got the Mitsubishi tag one. Anyone know where to get the batteries repacked?
>that feel when no Profeel
I've got a couple old VHS camcorders that I'm trying to get operational so I can record home movies on VHS
I've currently got one cracked open, trying to get the VHS door out so I can take the motor out.
Most of the time, the motor controlling the door is shot.
I have two, one really nice one and one cheap shit one. Nice one has a broken door motor, shit one has a working one but the eyepiece and mic are broken. I'm working on swapping the motors.
I got them both for a total of 9 dollars so, yeah.
Oh man, thinkpad butterfly. Those are so amazing. If you're brave a 133MHz AMD CPU can be swapped in. The only downside is the basic laptop is now around $200 used, the floppy drive is hard to find, and the CD drive is even rarer.
That said they are amazing little computers.
I'd post my vintage stuff, but a badge engineered HP and the potato camera I have is not a great combo. Stickers inside say HP built, front panel says Allen Bradley T50D. Lunchbox computer, amber monochrome screen.
