Interestingly enough, quite a few official translations of VNs end up having to reimplement the game in renpy or whatever other engine because they might get access to the script and dialogue files but don't always get access to engine code and the engine used just won't work well with English because of how it displays text.
So a lot of official translations end up being able to be run on Linux just fine (whether or not they release a version for Linux is entirely separate)
