why does this thing slow my computer down so much when archiving?
>last time I listen to /g/ about anything
They got you good.
>why does this CPU-heavy program bog down my system when it runs
Gee I wonder
No one will buy the shit you're shilling no matter how much whining you do about the competition.
Found the fucking problem, it's user error. You are just too stupid to make any computer related decisions.
I have an i7 5960x and I experience zero slowdowns doing pretty much anything.
I'd like to see how fast that 4 year old piece of shit i5 archives and renders 4K video compared to my 5960x.
Not my fault you're a bunch of broke jealous niggers with shit computers and zero technical knowledge.
Fuck off and suck my upper middle class Norwegian dick.
>why does an archiving program slow my computer down so much when archiving?
Gee, have you tried not archiving over 5GB's of shit on the maximum setting? Have you tried using at the very least a core2duo processor? Have you tried not sucking dicks?
Do you have any idea what you are fucking talking about? Open 7z, set it too use all cores and start compressing a huge file. It will slow down massively, because 7z will use as much processing power as available.
It doesn't matter how fast your cpu is, it doesn't matter how much of a fucking CONSUMER you are, using 100% of your processing power will slow shit down.
>zero technical knowledge
Accurate description of yourself there.
Your marriage doing ok, you seem a bit butthurt over the fact that your PC isn't a literal god, and can actually be slowed down by real world tasks.
>tfw I regularly archive 100+ GB on the highest settings
>Not having a shit computer
I bet you're some fucking reddit faggot with an Alienware piece of shit and now you think you're hot stuff. For the love of god, take a step back and literally fuck yourself in the ass. Your piece of shit is likely outperformed by some rinkydink laptop from 2007 with a shitty celeron processor.
>set 7zip to 1 core
>still usable computer
Feels good not being a dumb shit.

what's the world like up your own ass?
because you are a fucking piece of garbage.
Selling out the human race because you prefer to have a slow proprietary archive program.
NOTHING YOU DO IN LIFE IS WORTH ANYTHING YOU PIECE OF SHIT
Pretty nice m8, prostate orgasms are really good.
Honestly though, get your e-dick out of this thread. No one cares how much money you wasted on your PC. Nor do we care that you don't have the slightest clue wtf you are talking about. It's just kinda sad, like seeing some blind old cunt owning the mona lisa or something.
Why is -ms=off not the standard in 7zip? People are always complaining about 7z archives taking forever to open. And that's just because that ruski is too much of a compression fag to make the default bearable.
>archiving things with anything but "store" setting
The 1MB you're going to save isn't going to make up for all the wasted computational time (both while making the archive and when extracting it).
>why does this thing slow my computer down so much when archiving?
because it's archiving as fast as it can and you havent set any limitations, and/or your computer is shit
