Most people use the Internet only to see and do stupid things. It seems that it has got even more stupid year after year. Can it get any worse or have we reached the ultimate low?
We definitely haven't reached rock bottom yet
Books aren't dumb just because dumb books are bestsellers.
Movies aren't dumb just because dumb movies sell the most tickets.
The Internet isn't dumb just because dumb YouTube videos get the most views.
I don't think it really matter how much dumb content there is on the internet. If people want it they'll get it. What I think is worse is that ranking on search engines can be basically bought and sold. The first results on google are often trying to sell you something or push some agenda.
This is a terrible attitude to have. Who even cares? You're shitposting on 4chan right now upset on how people use the internet for "dumb things"
This guy gets it. Don't use it for "dumb things" if it offends you OP. Then chill out about what other people like.
Well, yeah, most people are dumb, duh. So dumb shit gets promoted the most. Just look at most popular / trending music on any major site. It's mostly either nigger music or chicks' whiny pop music.
This has to be the worst piece of shit music I've heard ever.
It's all been going down in music since MTV started promoting "black music" in the late 1990s. We never escaped that black hole in music, we're still in it, listening to shit like that ^
> suggested video tile "Ten Most Awesome Nutshots!"
>mfw it's already here
>This is a terrible attitude to have. Who even cares? You're shitposting on 4chan right now upset on how people use the internet for "dumb things"
Spend enough time in the real world and you'll find that alot of people, while not really dumb, are not at all self aware and eventually their bad habits compound on themselves exponentially as they continue through life thinking that there's nothing they can do about it. Saying that people are all stupid is a clear sign that the speaker is stupid but it's undeniable that most people dont think as far or as well as they can.
>normies like things autist consider dumb
>film at 11
You can find quite a bit of educational stuff on youtube. Just cause the front page caters to the lower denominator doesn't mean you have to consume it.
As opposed to listening to Rock 'n Roll music, which is a rednecks re-interpretation of black music (Jazz/Blues).
Just cause you don't like something it doesn't take away from the fact that its art and generations to come will worship stuff you hate - see 12 year old kids collecting vinyl records from the 60s-80s.
The internet probably ended with you OP.
I think printed media is kinda important. There's some pretty dumb stuff that gets printed but at least you have to try more than you do online. If someone doesnt like something you do online you can just complain and get the attention you were seeking the whole time. Fucking sickening.
I saw an infographic here a few weeks ago that showed the decline in internet usage diversity from 2004 or something like that, it was basically
2004: around 40 highly used websites
2007: around 20
Now: around 7
not that other anon, who may very well like "rock" since his basis for disliking kanye is niggers. But I'm tired of people assuming that if one can tell how shit 99% of rap is, that they must like the foo fighters (equally shit)
>tfw the stupid gets higher
>like unstoppable stoopid high
>tfw you can't stop it
>"It's dead, Jim..."
>bawww Nike shoes didn't want to make my shoes
Eventually all artists go to shit. Oh well, at least the original sample will make it into my collection.
Blame the children for feeding cancer like PewDiePie.
Blame the plebs who only use the Internet for social media.
Blame the Jews for trying to make web advertisements mandatory.
Blame the webmasters for selling out to make a sheckel.
Blame the government for trying to censor the Internet.
Blame the pedophiles for abusing the Internet.
Blame the hobbyists for giving up.
With internet people want now more content regardless of quality. That's why we got these daily vblogs and let's play channels.
In other words people doesn't want wait for "premium content" that TV would delivery.
I dont understand this post.
The internet has always been plagued with this kind of "viral" shit, its just that the "viral" shit adapts to its enviroment, it changes, today it is reaction videos, yesterday it was porn (also today), tomorrow it could anything (and porn).
Cancer is one with the internet, sometimes it is from your liking, sometimes not.
shit the original has almost 4m views as well.
i think what this shows is that people are actually gravitating away from popular music. popular music is only popular because it's disseminated through the usual channels, but the internet is good at showing where people's real tastes lie.
12m views. kanye ain't shit.
your taste is shit.
but that's not the point, the point is indie artists are getting just as much of a following on the internet as big industry stars, indicating that exposure is not directly proportional to popularity.
remember when the internet used to be like the wild west?
when posting your real name online was considered stupid and foolhardy?
when the majority of people using the net were white males aged 18-40 with some sort of technical education/employment?
now the inernet is filled with the lowest common denominator, trash, scum, the mindless and uneducated, some of us have already moved to a new net we created to preserve the old ways, and if you're smart enouigh, and deserving, you can go there too
>The "N" word
On 4chan, now I have seen everything
>New stuff is dumb.
>Kids are dumb
>everything is dumb dumb dumb
I think It's an extremely great social experiment.
For years people have been blaming TV networks for their lack of success due to brainwashing them, wasting their time etc.
But in reality these people are just degenerates that have migrated from mindless TV to mindless YT content.
It proves the point that people will seek out these mind numbing shows despite it being detrimental to their self development. That it is infact the peoples choice not the broadcasters manipulations.
Fourth nostalgia shit thread in just two days! When will this butt fucking retarded age meme end? I'm thinking never!
I don't usually say we should split the board up due to it turning into reddit, but we need a containment board for this, or an automover to >>>/vr/
no other board even comes close to this explosively flagrant nostalgia garbage and it's the one board where it shouldn't have it at all due to 10 year old tech being near-worthless due to moore's law. But I guess it fits in if you're a retarded contrarian hipster who has to always use some outdated piece of shit, "ironically"
I'm just curious what you expect out of these threads? Let's just play into your mentality for a bit and answer "yes" to everything.
>Was the internet better in xxxx?
>is the internet dead?
>is normies normiez normiuz runing muh intejasf?
And the question is, what's after the "yes"? What are you expecting to get? There can be nothing gained from these questions or threads besides virtual dick jerking.
IQ is a bell curve. If the average IQ is 100, there are as many people below 100 IQ as there are above.
Walk down the street. Statistically speaking, half of the people you pass have an IQ below 100.
Welcome to the world.
You're an idiot. There's plenty of useful and important information on the internet, it's just not viral on social media and similar sites. I pay about $60/month in subscriptions to shit that's worth reading. With sponsored content and shit, you can't be a teenager like yourself and expect to just accidentally stumble upon interesting info. The only thing you'll happen to stumble across is shit.... You have to really look (and sometimes pay) for the really good stuff
The thing is: yes it is pretty damning how people use the internet for inane things.
That does however not mean that you must use it for bullshit, too.
The only downside is that you will have to be more vigilant when searching for stuff online. The upside is that even though there is more stupid shit on the net, there is also more good stuff available. Relatively, the good stuff is getting smaller, absolutely it is just more good stuff.
Back in the day, geocities was a meme way for people to set up their own website. Hardly anyone knows about neocities. OF COURSE the Internet is going to go downhill when 10 years of custom-made history is lost.
I would wager spreading custom-website awareness would help.
>tfw this shit never appears for me in search results because this:
Feels good man.
