Mpc-be + madvr +xysubfilter + lav filter. Although this setup doesnt run very well on amy chinkpad for obvious reasons. Whats a good player for something with intergrated Intel graphics?

How do I force this thing to use all 4 cores? for some reason it uses only one and the video looks funny, in the bottom part of the screen it's like the frequency rate drops randomly (I think there's a name for this effect but I forgot). It's not a problem with the screen because when I use FFDShow Video Decoder instead if works flawlessly even with AviSynth and grain filters enabled, I can see that MPC-HC when I use madVR is stuck at 25% CPU usage.

Creating 60fps content out of 24fps content simply doesn't work. Artifacts out the wazoo (you literally have to be blind for it not to bother you) and soap opera effect makes it look fucking awful.

Use a good upscaling algorithm in MadVR or MPV. If you like SVP or sharpening filters then by all means use them.

A couple of months ago I tried to get the player and filter components separately because that's the cool thing to do. But for some reason the setup was unstable, and once every 500 times, the media player would cause my entire Windows 8 to crash just because I dragged and dropped a movie file into a player that was already playing a movie.

After the third time, I got sick of that shit, uninstalled them and just used CCCP instead.

Svp sucks after they jewed out, i cant even buy it cause they only accept credit cards.

I use mpv on GNU/Linux, and Baka-Mplayer on Migrosert Wendys. Libmpv has a remarkable set of defaults for watching anime, so literally all I've needed to do is make sure I'm using the high quality OpenGL output.

MPV without post processing.
If an easy way to apply waifu2x style filters in MPV ever shows up I might try it for shits and giggles. I don't get the appeal of all the placebo in video playback.
