It just takes webpage ads and replaced them with it's own ads that are still targeted to you, by a database they keep, just more loosely. This is not respecting my privacy. It's impossible to create your own engine, you have to copy what chromium does exactly, because shit "developers" (99.9%+ of web developers) only ever test on WebKit. At that point you might just as well use chromium and save yourself the trouble.

Ask Opera how the "independent engine" thing went for them. Even Firefox ended up emulating webkit-* prefixes.
