OP here, just for the bumps.
Currently I am trying to build a laptiming system for motocross, because professional solutions are fucking expensive.
Process is bretty gewd.
Logic is quite finished. Only thing I would need to improve accuracy a lot would be an inductive circuit, which is in research now.
Maybe have to upgrade to a bigger microcontroller or seperate processes on different ones. Will see how the project evolves.
in short: in basically just works like RFID, except that I need a reading range from about 1-1,5m.

As frontend I got a rpi2 which runs a nodejs server and database shit.
My rPi Zero came in the mail the other day, I'm going to pick up a broken Gameboy game cartridge and pop it in there along with an ESP8266. Just a case for now, it will be able to draw power from a GameBoy
What I want to do is reverse-engineer some of the 2.4Ghz consume devices I have lying around, many use the same IC and there's already software for sniffing.
The ultimate goal being, creating a wireless keylogger that catches and interprets traffic from a wireless keyboard.
Would it be feasible to build a DIY UPS?

Possibly some power factor correction circuitry.
Controlled by a RasPi with a web interface and custom SNMP server, and some AVRs for more specific tasks.
