Price wise might be better, you can find 21:9 monitors for cheaper than 2k ones.

Movies and games are a different thing there. For compatible games shit's immersive. For movies, you get rid of the bars completely.

Some editing applications take advantage of it.

Might be a decent replacement for 2 monitors.

Like I said, "might". If you go cheap then the cheaper 21:9 LG monitors are still cheaper than the cheapest 16:9 2k monitors you can find. You can go as low as 170 bucks for a 21:9 monitor these days.
