>Speaking at Liberty University today, Trump escalated his rhetoric on Apple's overseas manufacturing, and claimed somehow the US would reclaim those jobs in the future. "We have such amazing people in this country: smart, sharp, energetic, they're amazing," Trump said. "I was saying make America great again, and I actually think we can say now, and I really believe this, we're gonna get things coming... we're gonna get Apple to start building their damn computers and things in this country, instead of in other countries."
we just need to invest in automation.
China already has low wage workers and infrastructure so businesses default to them.
once we overcome the initial investment prices will be even lower to fabricate and assemble domestically.
capitalism doesn't work when some businesses enjoy state-sponsorship
Honestly, it's really easy to force them to do so.
Increase the taxation on products imported from China, which he plans on doing already, apparently. Bam, Apple's profit goes down the drain on taxes alone. No reason to keep producing in China, where quality is most likely always worse than if it was produced in the US.
Apple is all about the maximum profit anyway. They never cared for anyone. Not for their customers, not for their country, not for their workers. It's all about how much digits you can put after the $ symbol. How anyone can like them and defend them to death, is beyond me. It's even stupider when it's hardcore leftists, since they all seem to love Apple. Weird.
Automation doesn't necessarily kill more jobs than it creates. The jobs will still be there, they'll just have other names and require different training. A lot of jobs of today didn't exist 100 years ago, and many more disappeared in the meanwhile, it's not like we went extinct because of that.
Did you read the rest of the post?
I mean, I guess Apple could just say fuck it and keep producing in China at lower profits than producing in the US, but that wouldn't make sense at all. It's bad PR for them, and bad for the profits.
>wants to deport all the cheap labor
>wants """"intelligent, hard working Americans"""" to do what chinks do for cents per hour
No? Got fed up of all the homework threads about a year ago.
Usually when sanctions like that are imposed on companies they move their headquarters out of the country and all the execs go with it and they just keep the money off shores. Just look at the Burger king/Tim Thorntons acquisition instead of paying 40% tax they just set up the headquarters in Canada and left the money there
You do realize that doing more with fewer workers and less money is kind of the point of automation? Automation has killed a LOT of jobs in the past, specially in the car industry, and it will continue to do so in the future. The main positive thing I can think of here is that in the near future most of the jobs automation will kill will be in countries like China.
>"We have such amazing people in this country: smart, sharp, energetic, they're amazing,"
no we don't, and no they aren't.
americans are mostly fat, lazy, easily distracted, have an undue sense of entitlement, and are easily cuckholded.
you make me ashamed to be an american
I've become increasingly apolitical as I've gotten older, but I still lean farther left than most Americans. When I actually bother to care anyway--for the most part I don't because politics are a complete waste of time for the bottom 90%.. I've always hated Apple. Almost as much as I hate being lumped into the same category as liberals. Liberalism is, and always has been right of center.
I don't mean tax them directly, you idiots.
You can tax product imports from out of country. The US is largely the biggest Apple consumer in the world. If products imported from China paid, say, 50% of their value in import tax, their profits would be slashed hugely.
Of course, that's a ridiculous tax, and I doubt it would be something that high. You don't need to target a specific corporation to make them move. Just tax whatever shithole they manufacture in.
The US lose billions every year from US companies producing in China and importing to the US, with little to no taxes applied to them. This has been one of Trump's flagship during his campaign. He keeps saying that China doesn't play fair, which we all have known for decades now, but no one seems to care. He's also the only one saying it.
I have nothing against companies producing elsewhere when the country they're in doesn't have the means to do so. But the US clearly has the means and the workforce for it. The only reason it's not done, is to increase profit margins for the company. No other reason at all. Destroy that extra profit margin, and you'll have the companies back in no time, even if it's just for the nice PR.
That doesn't really matter. As long as you want to sell your products in the US, they will have to be imported there and you'll have to pay more taxes. Your HQ could be "based" anywhere and you'd still have to pay more.
>But the US clearly has the means and the workforce for it.
no they don't. most people in the us are too stupid and too lazy with their "Medicul cundishuns" to work the hours asked of them
their products are awesome, not that you would ever know, you've been swimming in the propaganda fishbowl your whole life and the thought of touching a mac makes you reee like some autistic liability
I like your approach, with all of the factory workers being mechanical, electrical or computer technicians, administrative, and shipping personel, paid according to their skill. While we are gravitating away from being an industrial society, we should still have a manufacturing base.
I'm calling out that possible Eurofag for ridiculing us when Germany gets mass rape attacks and France has hundreds dead last year from terrorist attacks from "refugees"
Meanwhile we've got a guy who's up for building walls and deporting millions of illegal alien cockroaches en masse.
The GOP presidential front-runner has a history of changing his stances, as NBC's Chuck Todd so pointedly noted back in July. (The Fix has also documented this.)
But while many of those flips happened as Trump, over the years, transitioned from a Democrat to a Republican, they're also happening in the midst of his 2016 presidential campaign. In fact, he's made several total reversals within weeks or even days of initially staking out a position. And often his new position better aligns him with the conservative Republican base he's courting than his previous one.
Here are six of Donald Trump's biggest 180s so far, as explained by The Donald himself.
> Casually talking about what would be the greatest era of human suffering in the 21st century
Millions of those undocumented immigrants, let me correct you there, have lives and roots in the United States. Not all of them will be willingly dragged from their homes, so there'll probably be so many injuries and death.
Thats something straight out of an Orwell novel. It's an unimaginable level of inhumanity
>hurr i cant prove shit, im gonna ad hominem the shit out of you durr
Does he flips? yes, but that's is not the point, we are talking about the flips this anon points >>52499259
Your links while it does shows up what he does flips (which again, is not the point) they don't prove what the other anon said.
i've been to china, to several major cities, some you've heard of, others where i was the first american person they ever saw and talked to.
everything is under construction there. i've never seen anything like it. skyscrapers, roads, dams, bridges. i rode a train from chengdu to an outlying city, it took one hour on the train leaving the city before i stopped being surrounded by skyscrapers.
if manufacturing gets phased out (lmao) they will have plenty of jobs in construction, and infrastructure management
Mexico is cheaper after you factor in transportation costs. The reason people don't go to Mexico is because the two faced managers with their smug liberal ethics don't feel as good when they talk about "muh developing nations." For them, Mexicans are those different speaking brown people with chubby wives.
Yes, there is a left leaning form of racism around the why of outsourcing.
They'll probably deport a few and inflate the numbers for the media, many businesses close to the border and in the south depend on cheap illegal labor like farming and Trump won't fuck with them.
Afterwards they'll go to war cause the military industry needs another one desperately and murrikans will forget all about it.
actually china is cheapre after you factor in production costs.
that's why all businesses manufacture their shit in china, and ship it over on super carriers. because it's C H E A P E R. if mexico were cheaper, they would be manufacturing there
He's not even a Mr. Smoothtalker. He's a blatant fool that runs on pathos. He has the same general appeal as Bernie Sanders, ironically. He's a candidate who's blunt and breaking the maddening traditional political tropes and "standards", people confuse this along with his tendency to frame shit ideas as "the easy answer the morons leading us are unwilling to take!" for intelligence and insight. He likely has neither, nor their best interest in mind. He also rarely says much of anything detailed or substantial.
Most of his plans wouldn't pan out. There is validity in some of his arguments and criticism, but right now he's just an actor He's playing, and I've yet to truly figure where the real him begins and the acting ends. I don't actually think he's very clever though, ultimately.
Watching his rallies is like watching a cult meeting. Burlington is by the waterfront, gets pretty cold. His claims of security and law so tough no one makes a move is genuinely disturbing, and if someone tried to take my coat and throw me out in the cold, a lot of people might get hurt. Then again, I wouldn't be a moron sitting around with a Bernie sign at a Trump cult meeting.
It's not complicated. Make it so they can't sell their products in the US if they don't comply. You think they're just gonna say fuck this, if I can only have 30% profit instead of 80% I won't bother selling my product at all?
There are some downsides. Firstly, any equipment or whatnot you move onto the chinese property of your own, is immediately owned by the Chinese. This is why it's an investment you're not apt to pull out of unless you've strictly contracted with another company.
Secondly, the tariffs are pitiful. You can easily net a massive profit.
of course we have great smart people here, who the fuck do you think is engineering this stuff?
the people who build these things are anything but smart and great, they are low level drones.
maybe he should start by ensuring all of his dumb merchandise is made in the USA first before he criticizes others
lol, spoken like a true authority figure
if you don't comply you're fired. but donny, you can't fire everybody. you can't fire the ayatollah of iran if he doesn't want to bend over backwards and suck your cock for you.
you can fire putin just because he doesn't want to let you fuck russia in the ass. you cant fire australia just because they don't see value in sending more troops to the middle east.
that's not how the world works. but that's the only idea he has for getting anything done
Yeah, good fucking luck, aren't they about to sign a pacific trade agreement? That would make it illegal to impose the tariffs that would be needed to force companies to make things in the US again.
>All components are made in China
>A "factory" in the US attaches the screens
Wow, much jobs, very manufacturing.
Time and again, protectionism DOES NOT WORK. You end up with these stupid workarounds that give a symbolic amount of jobs. It's like those vans that are imported to the US with seats because of the ban on imported commercial vehicles. The seats are stripped out in the US and hey it's not an imported commercial vehicle now.
trump apparently has no idea about the Trans Pacific Partnership, which is among other things, a free trade agreement between all pacific, and asian nations, including china, and the united states.
>trans pacific partnership
>free trade agreement
>trump is a moron
But he's right. Trump has stated time and time again that he has no religious preference and has even *publicly slammed Jesus as a "socialist loser", but just today at Liberty "America is a Christian Nation" University, the dude spent hordes of time appealing to the idea that Christianity was under attack in America. He's been inconsistent with tons of things, this just being one example.
Exactly. I watched this video where they went around asking people why they were voting for her and the majority of the responses were "I think it's time we have a female president" or "because she's a woman"
Is there any hope left for society?
What peaceful protesters?
The bernie manchildren from reddit who shout and disrupt him?
That muslim woman who not only stood up blocking the view of those behind her despite being asked to sit down, but also wore the star to directly compare Trump hitler?
And Bernie takes no ey from big corporations. So are you not voting for him because he lied?
Unfortunately, a lot of it really is this. I get so sick of seeing braindead "feminist"... for lack of a better word, beta males, talk up Hilary.
"She's a really strong candidate."
"She's really doing good."
"That was a solid speech she gave, she's looking like a good candidate. Standing up to the patriarchy, real good on her."
It's like they've never actually watched and listened to her. She's a conniving mindless shrew that lies and flip flops around telling people what she thinks they want to hear.
One thing I will say is she's very clever. Not wise, but clever. Not much she can do about Sanders though, with or without the spin of the media.
let me rephrase what i saw for you since you clearly don't get it
BIG BIG city, many many big big city. Every city so FULL of PEOPLE. Many people buy much things. People eating in food houses. People building bigger buildings, build bridge, build tall house. Many people running many business. And driving the vroom vrooms.
>And Bernie takes no ey from big corporations. So are you not voting for him because he lied?
Not him but do you have anything to back that up other than an unrelated image?
>tfw here's a little 'truth in advertising' for you /g/.
Dig through this for a few insights.
>It's like they've never actually watched and listened to him. He's a conniving mindless shrew that lies and flip flops around telling people what she thinks they want to hear.
>One thing I will say is he's very clever. Not wise, but clever. Not much he can do about Sanders though, with or without the spin of the media.
Also Trump is categorically wrong on this issue if he thinks he can force Apple to manufacture in the US, because of one thing: The Trans-Pacific Partnership, which among other things includes a free trade agreement between the US and China.
Bullshit. You've probably been to Shanghai or Beijing, some of those megacities. Of course shit's gonna be massive in those cities, they have the 2nd most populated country on earth.
The current economic slump in China comes on the heels of the previous real estate bubble burst. Are you saying those ghost cities they created during the real estate bubble are populated now?
This man knows.
Technology over all is a tool to make our lives easier. It doesn't get easier than technology doing most if not all the work.
Economics is a cult though so I am sure we can expect some insanity along the way.
Chongqing, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Qing Dao, Xi'an, Kunming, Zhengzhou, Baoding, Wuxi.
I spent two months touring the country last year. It's the same everywhere, including all the "little" roadstop towns
every city also has many huge malls. These malls have stores like Rolex, Ferrari, Gucci, DC, Prada (Prada's everywhere in china) BMW, Mercedes, Tesla (chengdu office too).
Despite whatever you want to believe, the world gonna keep on turning
So the Chinese economy is doing very well according to you, but they just got out of a real estate bubble and recently their stock market crashed.
It's just Western media propaganda, right? There was no market crash, no real estate bubble, China has no economic issues. All this because one person went there and seen people in the cities buying stuff, so you immediately got a statistically significant opinion about the whole economy.
I'm not him, but I'm against a spineless ninny.
I don't care what the fuck his policies are, no one respects him enough to implement them.
He's going to be a foreign policy disaster if he got elected.
>bullshit. You've probably been to Shanghai or Beijing, some of those megacities. Of course shit's gonna be massive in those cities,
Incidentally, that's why i wanted to go to the other cities. to see for myself if it was just contained to those mega cities.
>There was no market crash, no real estate bubble, China has no economic issues.
not from what I could tell. and if there was, nobody seems to give a shit. There's more Mercedes cars rolling around Beijing than anywhere i've ever seen. I've been to London, NY, Chicago, Melbourne australia, Sydney. Havent been to europe proper yet, or south america, or the middle east though.
Just fucking look at him.
There are a bunch of stupid apes in the foreground and "Mr. Future President" in the background, alone, sad about being upstaged and yelled at by hateful minorities at his own fucking event.
Who would listen to this guy? Not Putin. Not the Republicans that currently own both houses.
Why elect him if all you're going to get is lip service?
Here's the main problem with the american economy, in my opinion. Pic fucking related.
>absolutely nothing wrong with being mediocre
that mentality anywhere else... will get you killed. it's suicide.
You idiot, sanders wants all whites to apologize for slavery, then blacks will like him. Also there's going to be a political revolution, the house and senate will all be democratic socialists after this next election so he WILL be able to do everything.
Well, it's already known that China has most bilionaires by now, it surpassed the US in that department, but is that really relevent to how the rest of the country is living?
There are more Mercedes in Europe than in other countries, because it's cheaper to buy European cars in Europe, since you don't pay any import taxes.
But most people in Europe don't buy expensive cars anymore. They think only peasants who just got rich by using EU agricultural funds or development funds buy Mercedes to show their new social status. Most everyone in Europe either buys midrange or cheaper cars or uses public transportation or bikes. The time of using your wealth to buy ostentatious luxury stuff is Europe is long gone, nobody does that except nouveau riche and EU farmers who want to show off. And of course, arabs who moved to Europe and need to prove that they "made it" so they buy a Mertz to have something to show for.
>Why elect him if all you're going to get is lip service?
Have you ever actually looked into anything he's done? Have you watched any of the debates, and do you actually realize any of the shit he, and every other candidate, actually has to wade through? It's not truly delicate, but it is a mess.
I actually remember some speech he was giving where some people started yelling and arguing with him. He tries to calm them down, you know, so the discussion can be a "you say you thing, and I say my thing, rather than we both yell at each other at the same time" kind of deal. It doesn't work, he loses it and tells them to shut up.
It doesn't seem like you actually understand anything about campaigning, dealing with the media, and dealing with how stupid people are when it comes to informing them about the function, and flaws, of a very large system. I've yet to see him back down, stand there and take, nor cave to anyone's irrelevant horseshit.
Either way, people aren't ever perfect, but I'm from Vermont. He's not the new guy on the scene for me.
I find it pretty delusional that you think black people would warm up to a white man that reminds them of "that guy they cuckolded that one time."
The black vote was relevant exactly twice, and you know the reason for it. They won't vote for anyone but a strong nigga that got their back.
There are more Mercedes in Europe than in other countries, because it's cheaper to buy European cars in Europe, since you don't pay any import taxes.
yeah that's the crazy thing. there are more imported cars in china than there are anywhere else, and they pay the import taxes gladly.
>They think only peasants who just got rich by using EU agricultural funds or development funds buy Mercedes to show their new social status.
yeah, and in China, it's different. People want quality, and they want to show off. Think america 50 years ago. It's like that. It's none of this neo-pussy bullshit like you want it to be
Then why don't you disprove him (and Trump).
People who are anti-Trump always say the same shit. It's "laughable" or you repeat the same headlines you heard from someone else despite them blatantly being taken out of context. Then you pat yourself on the back because you're so politically educated, despite not having a clue. It's disgusting.
The populace's tendency to publically display their money isn't really related to their actual wealth so much as the cultural influence that makes them show it off.
Your description of the Chinese sounds like the average description of a "gangsta" with an iPhone.
you seem to think that living wage manual labor is a curse not worth living for
remember when the american middle class was built on auto factory jobs? of course not, you probably thought everyone was a journalist or professional cuckold
ah, you're right!
Trump has been against the TPP for as long as it's been relevant.
You think he wouldn't get on Congress' asses about this and spin it in the media like he's spinning everything in the primary?
That's not really a comparison.
And property values are a somewhat ridiculous way of measuring the value of a whole city, what with cherrypicking.
Wouldn't take much effort for you to find some shitty condemned rathouse in Queens and compare it to whatever the fuck in China.
>Rand Paul all the way nigger
I just watched a video of Rand Paul trying to argue that guaranteed healthcare was the equivalent of enslaving physicians and going and smashing down their door at 2 am to demand treatment.
He's a bullshitting idiot.
The deal isn't even finalized. An agreement was reached but the earliest it could get through is April 2016, possibly (likely?) longer.
Congratulations, you compared the property value of a house in a suburb to the property value of another house in a suburb.
You've totally ignored what makes property valuable and assume that "proximity to the city" is the only thing that matters.
Hat's off to you grand intellectual.
Now look for cost of living or something else that objectively compares the necessary wealth required to just exist. It's well defined, you fuck.
No my good friend, hats off to you, because you don't seem to understand that in china, the city is expanding so rapidly that between the time you begin constructing a building to the time when the construction is finished, and you've moved in, you are completely surrounded by urban sprawl, and it's because of this phenomenon there's no equivalent to a "suburb" in china.
just go to china, since you're so well off in your "great" and "strong" economy that you can afford to see it for yourself then
BIG BIG city, SO MANY PEOPLE
is he wrong? Guaranteed healthcare means that physicians cannot deny service to anyone.
our current system was built on free market policies. You can't turn that on it's head. There was literally nothing wrong with medicare for people who cannot afford insurance.
he has the right answer for almost every single problem this country has and an ideology to back it up
blame the fed you retarded liberal cuck. Guess who your precious Bernie defends? Right, the institution that literally does nothing but give free loans to millionaires, inflates the currency, then profits off it.
>criticising a foreign country's economy for being better than him
>refuses to believe facts and easily verifiable evidence
>A M E R I C A, land of the delusional, home of the cuckhold
you've made my homeland a parody of itself
>tax products imported from China
>Apple just manufactures their shit in Vietnam instead
Good job, idiot.
>I can't prove that my shitty smog filled country is better than burgerman's so I'm going to tell him to waste his time and go to a country with a history not dissimilar to the Native Americans currently residing in Nevada
Whatever you say chink shill, proof's on you if you want to prove China's place in the world isn't in the garbage.
You've got Chinese dick on the mind.
I haven't ever seen anyone more cuckolded by the yellow scourge until you.
You should try fixing that inferiority complex of yours, maybe if you stopped bitching about being mediocre, you might actually get something done.
bitch i'm rich because of my businesses in china. go fuck yourself
you're the one who's blinded by a false sense of superiority (which objectively is inferiority) that's keeping you down
No wonder you're defending China so fiercely, you have to suck their dick to keep them from cutting corners so that they can use the miniscule profits on their bid to pay for their stale bread and suicide nets on every window.
Whether it's intended or not the constant rolling hardware updates that Apple makes saturates the market with used hardware that is resold at a much cheaper price than mint hardware. It's not hardware that's worth a shit, but it allows yuppies to support the poor while fostering tech development. Not so bad.
>is he wrong? Guaranteed healthcare means that physicians cannot deny service to anyone.
Yes. And the latter part is irrelevant.
Most physicians, and dentists, work on a salary in some larger entity. They do not privately practice or play by their own rules. What we're talking is almost strictly financial anyway.
>built on free market policies.
Look around buddy. You see a free market?
>he has the right answer for almost every single problem this country has and an ideology to back it up
I don't know about that, I don't know all that much about him.
The system is broken, and the human race's more garbage behaviors are surfacing. If you don't think guaranteed access to medical help you need is a good thing, then I don't know what to tell you. You're broken too, or you just haven't needed it yet or seen people get crippled under medical bills.
>implying i'm not paying my taxes
i have to pay taxes in the us, china, and australia. if i don't i lose my access to basically anywhere in the world because these countries have visa relations with most countries in the world. of course i pay my fucking taxes
>we just need to invest in automation.
Automation isn't the be-all, end-all solution to every problem. You can't downsize robots in a bad year and they're a pain in the ass when you want to change over for a new model.
Factories use robots for the things they need to use robots for, and they use monkeys for everything else.
>blaming the entire population on the actions of one government bureaucracy (the intelligence bureau)
that's the same mentality al-qaeda had when they blamed the us citizens at large for the actions of one president
>oh no, they are calling out my state sponsored intel stealing
>better blame those other niggers, it wont happen to me, I swear.
Go watch the video, I dare you.
Capcha: Select all images with french fries.
>cannot deny service to anyone.
you are literally a person who believes that by legislating something as a right it magically happens
>You see a free market?
for medical care? before Obamacar? yes. I could choose my doctor and choose my plan, or choose to have no doctor and choose to have no plan. That's called freedom.
>I don't know all that much about him.
look him up, all the good things about Sanders he's even better at. Non interventionism, reducing the debt, auditing the fed, reducing inflation, ending the war on drugs, prison reform, etc etc. He's the total package
>the human race's more garbage behaviors are surfacing
>You're broken too, or you just haven't needed it
my mom survived breast cancer because of medicare. The thing about that though is that many doctors and physicians didn't accept medicare which was absolutely their call to make. People got upset that medicare got so expensive and decided that somehow socializing insurance would be the sollution to the problem. obviously it isnt
you need to think beyond more than just "oh yeah, everyone having healthcare is awesome! how could you hate that?" and use your real brain to understand how the real world works
you're just a clammy NEET who will believe whatever gives you just enough solace that you don't end your life tonight so you can wake up tomorrow and do the same thing all over again.
you have no proof of anything, nobody does. i'd believe it if there was proof, but i examined the data myself, and it was inconclusive to say the least. the data could have come from anywhere, but they need an official line, and since the last tracable hop comes from a server in china, (which can be rented by anybody anywhere) then they say oh it's china's doing, when in reality it could be literally anyone. i'd say it could even be you, if you wern't an inept gaymur NEET
>Americans become the new global underclass >work 12 hour days in factories that produce luxury goods for wealthy Chinese
>I examined the data myself
>the data could have come from anywhere
>projecting this fucking hard
This is what you sound like
See this man? This is you.
At this rate 50% of 'muricans are soon going to be so fucking broke they'll default and get thrown out of their house if they miss a few hundred bucks at the end of the month, leaving them slaving away in whatever shitty job they have, that even urban Chinese would not accept.
We laugh at the Africans and their poverty, but they might be better off than these wage slaves.
The US labour market isnt flexible enough, foxconn can hire hundreds of thousands of workers to ramp up before a product launch in just a few weeks, the same would take many months if not years in the US.
Its not like anyone but the consumer will pay for that tax anyway
Hey never mind most of the electronics fabs are overseas. Let's tax the shit out of Chinese imports and sit back and watch as China goes and artificially drives electronics prices and rare-earth metal prices to absurd levels in response.
You know, I'm going into EE and MY JOB is dependent on a company being able to design electronics which requires the components to be cheap. If they are insanely expensive people won't be buying electronics, which means companies won't be hiring engineers, which means I'll be out of a job.
Unless he plans to let me sit on my ass and collect unemployment all day for the rest of my life I suggest Donald Trump figure out a better way to fix our economy.
I think we're all failing to take note of the stonewalling of innovation by corporations. When every metric of performance that a company produces is exclusive to monetary gain it creates a problem. Corporations cut corners and force R&D not to create something novel, but something that will net the most profit. They send the manufacturing processes overseas to ensure production cost is as low as possible, they wholesale to other massive corporations that can push units faster than any competitor for lower prices with the same margins, and no matter how well the product turns over the people producing it see only baseline revenue the cycle repeats, it concentrates wealth into certain parties pockets and company and assets but never does it see a worker's pocket.
You could pose the argument that new industries are being founded daily, but those new industries after any semblance of value is produced are bought out by bigger companies and quickly lose their creative value. Then there are industries which an individual or small company could never achieve. Microprocessors for instance, motor vehicles for another. Nobody can compete with these huge corporations and so new jobs can't be created. If there was a vacuum in the market it could be suffocated easily with mediocre products which would be subsequently rationalized as good enough. What we need to do is start breaking these companies down and redistributing their assets to smaller companies with more empathy and a stronger sense of responsibility.
It's not that flexible right now, but say the military industrial complex got its dick knocked in the dirt, we have 2mi troops running around, with significantly reformed prison system policies and judicial reform that's another 7 million, god knows how many motherfuckers are actually unemployed at the moment.
>which means I'll be out of a job.
>Unless he plans to let me sit on my ass and collect unemployment all day for the rest of my life
You will get a new job in Trump's Deportation Force.
I would seriously like to know the implications on pricing this would create.
Would it really make manufacturing that much more expensive? Would Apple significantly raise their prices? Does this provide a good amount of quality factory jobs like we had "back in the day"?
Apple has already brought some of their assembly work back to the US. Mostly built-to-order computers I think.
Don't tell me you're actually for that lying piece of shit.
He goes on and on about muh colleges and muh banks and the ebil corporations, but it's okay for his wife to commit loan fraud for burlington college and get paid with tuition money.
I hope his failure will drive him to finally quit politics, because I'm tired of this NY communist representing my state.
Trump's appeal is fairly easy to understand; he calls americans great.
He doesn't say that niggers are good and need love too, he doesn't say that we need more women, he doesn't say that america sucks and needs fixing, he says that america is great and we should make it that way.
but senpai how can apple devices continue to get thinner if they're made by fat american sausage fingers
this does not change everything baka desu senpai
> look at wallmart, thats what happens when you raise min. Wage
That's a good use of post hoc fallacy. People might even believe were this >>>/pol/.
Sadly, it's not. Walmart stock was dropping like mad prior to the whole wage increase thing because of competition with Amazon, Target and Kroger. They have a foundation in nearly every urban and suburban community, so while the wage increase did eat into their bottom line, it was the least of their worries.
By the way, Walmart will never go bankrupt. Ever. There are simply too many people going to their stores.
>move all production to Taiwan
Honestly I like Trump's idea, fuck the Chinese communists. Taiwan is superior anyways.
Socialism will destroy any large country.
Not even 'merifat, but if you think socialism and leftards will make your country anything but shit you're delusional. But then again, you're mentally ill (lefty)
>Germany gets mass rape attacks
Germany reporting in. You're talking about Cologne, I suppose? The new years eve incident, which was 1. a singular event and 2. a single rape has yet to be proven, so far it's only been reported harrassment. Yes, one woman is claiming she's been raped and that may be true, but nothing is official yet.
Here where I live, the immigrants went out on 1st of January to clean the streets of the massive amount of fireworks waste while everybody else was still comatose drunk.
Don't talk about shit you don't understand, asshole. There's a million stories to this refugee crisis, quit trying to blame your domestic problems on immigrants, whom you in your ignorance so floridly name 'illegal alien cockroaches' best kept out by walls. Fuck you.
I love the US. Not for idiots like you, of course, but it's a great country. Now stop using a phenomenon happening an ocean away and beyond your understanding to justify any kind of domestic policy, much less the outrageously ridiculous ones brought forward by your latest republican monkey politician.
Why can't you guys, having achieved as much as you have, do something about your politics? Why can't we have nice things, like Sanders vs. Paul - why does your political process involve these Trump, Palin and whatnot types? It's a bit sad, actually, for a country of that stature to have these bad movie characters representing you.
>German system incorporates many things elsewhere seen as 'socialist'
>currently economic leader in Europe
i would rather you back up your wild statement with a few numbers. that way i may be bothered looking up some as well.
this is the list of us jobs in 2010.
The only new job in the list that didn't existed 100y ago is programmer.
IT's true that a lot of new jobs have been created but they have very few people employed.
Most of the people shit posting Trump probably don't realize that Steve Jobs had a dinner with Obama where he expressed that Apple wanted to do more in America. But that certain tax laws would have to be adjusted to make it remotely feasible.
Think about that: our country has gotten so off course that even a liberal like Jobs understood that it fucks up our businesses and sends work overseas.
Of course Obama is a barely above average IQ pleb indoctrinated in shit politics so it was like talking to a wall.
I don't doubt for one second that a businessman like Trump knows how to bring work back to America. Hell, right off the bat just give U.S. corporations a one time tax break on offshore money they bring back home so long as they invest a percentage in U.S. based businesses, factories, etc. That would result in far MORE tax revenue over a 10 year period then the taxes "lost" on money they will never bring home under our current laws any way. And it will create jobs at the same time.
That one is easy. Trump probably knows a hundred ways to provide incentives to corporations to bring money, production, and work back home.
>Apple is all about the maximum profit anyway. They never cared for anyone.
When you grow up you'll realize two things.
1) The bottom line is literally and always that: the bottom line. If you don't have profits then nothing else you care about matters because the company goes under and everyone gets fired.
2) While there are corporations that don't give a shit about anything else, a lot of corporations really do care about their products, customers, and impact in the world. Now read A again because even corporations with the highest of ideals can't do shit that's positive unless there's a profit.
As far as Apple goes...
* Jobs always wanted to change the world for the better. He was always trying to make products to do that.
* Apple has always been led by silicon valley liberals who want to say their work did something more then just make $$$.
* You don't have to like their tech to recognize the above.
Microsoft always had a culture that was much more about $$$ then Apple, but even in their case they wanted to build good things and do charity work.
>shilling so hard you call women liars and blame the victims
What's that phrase liberals like to throw around privileges and checks?
>"Don't talk about shit you don't understand, asshole."
>German then proceeds to talk about U.S. immigration
All you need to do to verify our problem is look up crime stats and Federal/state spending on illegal immigrants. Numbers don't lie, and without control of the border we cannot vet immigrants and only accept those that are peaceful, skilled, and interested in contributing to America.
And don't reply with crocodile tears about "muh poor starving refugees!" Mexico is a resource rich nation and their gov needs to take care of their own poor. Saudi Arabia is also resource rich and could house every single refugee currently in Europe.
I don't know about Germany, but we have enough poor here we're struggling to lift out of crime and poverty.
>Now stop using a phenomenon happening an ocean away and beyond your understanding to justify any kind of domestic policy,
The shooting in San Bernardino by two people who were BRAGGING ON FACEBOOK ABOUT JIHAD is enough justification for Trump's domestic policy. Immigration freeze of all Muslims until we have a system in place to vet them and keep out potential criminals.
Heck, he doesn't go far enough. Immigration freeze until our budgets (Federal and state) are all balanced, our infrastructure is in a state of repair, our population employment participation rate is way up, AND we have a proper vetting system in place.
The U.S. isn't the world's home and cannot solve the world's problems. We have some pretty serious problems of our own right now. Maybe it's time for "guests" to leave and stay away until our house is in order.
>things became more efficient
To be honest that's kind of the point of humanity.
The only things that i might see changing in the future is some sort of measure to prevent overpopulation or a reduction of work hours from 8 to like 6-7.
Maybe some sort of guaranteed survival wage as long as we put measures to prevent leeching but i won't see that coming for a long while
>Make America great
>Doing low skilled repetitive assembly work.
Meanwhile, in the Netherlands.....
Big companies will ALWAYS go offshore if they can get even $1 from it.
Apple already earns gorillions of money, it wouldn't harm them in any way to come back to USA, but of course, they won't they want the biggest profit they can get. That's how the world works. If USA had 1% tax and some Mongolia had 0 companies would still go to Mongolia (of course not taking into count transfer costs etc etc)
Yeah, but i still think we are too much.
When people say we can't go all vegan because we literally don't have enough land to cultivate enough food it's harsh.
Think about it, literally all the cultivable surface of the planet isn't enough.
Of course since we can't kill more people the only thing we can do is make less babies.
>overpopulation is a myth
Yes, the number of people on Earth isn't increasing at all....retard
It doesn't matter who makes kids, we ARE getting overpopulated. You can't fight blacks and their 15 kids by making 15 white kids
>shilling so hard you call women liars and blame the victims
where did i do that? i replied to the accusation of "mass rape attacks" with the clear facts, which are that one woman has claimed she was raped but nothing has been proven yet. i said it might be true. my point was: even if one woman was raped, which certainly is bad, it hardly makes it a "mass rape attack", let alone several.
>German then proceeds to talk about U.S. immigration
now where did i do that again? i was referring to the statement that immigrants were "illegal alien cockroaches", which is dehumanizing at best, and has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the US version of immigration.
neither was i talking about immigration from Mexico, although i do honestly doubt a wall will do any better than the huge fence you already have along huge streaks of said border. i was talking about the refugee crisis from the middle east, which Trump doesn't get tired of citing as a source of terrorism when what we have here and what we experience here clearly speaks a different language.
as for our poor, we have a working social security system, so we're doing fine on that front. the precarious job sector is what i'm more worried about for Germany.
sorry, but i believe immigration would help the problems you're citing, not worsen them.
as for the San Bernardino shootings, i don't have any numbers, although i do agree that stricter vetting might help with that. i also think an immigration freeze might send the wrong message - implementing stronger vetting should be possible without having to damage the standing the US have in the world that way.
That's unfortunately not how it works.
Currently an iMac costs $2000, production and parts cost $100, there is 1900% margins.
If iMacs get produced in America labor and parts cost a lot more, $10,000, which means iMacs are going to cost $200,000.
>Big companies will ALWAYS go offshore if they can get even $1 from it.
In fact I think it's mandatory by law, for any company that issues stock publicly.
Shareholders will get very mad if the company they invested in didn't put profits above anything else.
A shrinking population is exactly what i'm asking for.
The only problem is that you can't make people younger so there's that, and believe me i say that as one of the countries with the worst case of aging population.
another thing that might help to prevent shootings, in my opinion, are better gun laws. don't get me wrong, i'm not in favor of banning guns. i think it's awesome you can have them, i would get one myself given the chance. yet i fail to understand why the fuck it's so easy for just about anybody to buy one. what's wrong with having kind of a licensing system, implemented nation wide? having to provide a criminal and a health record to check for dangerous and unstable people doesn't seem so bad to me if by that you at least filter those out. the fact that you have to have a drivers' license to drive a car but you can just buy a handgun pretty much no questions asked seems illogical to me.
>$10,000, which means iMacs are going to cost $200,000.
That is bullshit.
It will still cost $2000 because that's what the sales department determined to be the optimum price.
If the optimum retail price is higher than the total costs, they simply stop producing.
the problem with depopulation is that our economy is build on the basis that we consume more and more. But if the population shrink we are fucked. Add on that automation that help produce more with less people...
>If USA had 1% tax and some Mongolia had 0
Apple is registered as a Dutch company.
Netherlands has a 0% tax rate for big international companies, no need to go to weird places like Mongolia.
When production goes up offer goes up tho, so the prices should go down a bit right?
Also holy fuck actual civil discussion.
What's up with 4chan and being able to have incredible conversation only on boards not designed for that?

>only africa make more kids than the replacement rate. The rest of the world make 2.6 children
>2.6 children isn't above replacement rate
>india is not significant
>china is not significant
>indonesia is not significant
Not really. Consumerism was born in 1800 with the industrial revolution. Before that economy was based on survival.
Not always. Monopoly and oligopoly will net the profits and keep the price the same.
If amazon finish to automate it's logistic center, they can net 5% more profit, and just undercut a bit others competitors.
In the long run price will lower, the problem is the short term with massive unemployment.
Replacement fertility is the total fertility rate at which women give birth to enough babies to sustain population levels.
If there were no mortality in the female population until the end of the childbearing years (generally taken as 44, 45, or 49, though some exceptions exist) then the replacement level of TFR would be very close to 2.0. The replacement fertility rate is roughly 2.0 births per woman for most industrialized countries (2.075 in the UK, for example), but ranges from 2.5 to 3.3 in developing countries because of higher mortality rates. Taken globally, the total fertility rate at replacement is 2.33 children per woman. At this rate, global population growth would tend towards zero.
and is this high due to africa. Start dropping condoms and books, and they will stop making 6-7 children
Why? Just provide incentives for them to establish product creation over here in America. There are many people who would like a job and unfortunately an assembly line job can fill that hole.
Just turn it into you can only receive ebt and other welfare shit if you actually have a job. Welfare is supplemental not a replacement. Also cap the amount of support a woman can receive for welfare to just 3 children. That's a decent size and a good middle ground before going into repopulate earth/mudslime/gibsmedats tier.
Throw in a fancy new iPhone as an incentive if they work for 6 months.
The dollar needs to drastically increase in value in order for that work.
>get paid $2/hour work 10 hours
>can't buy some vegetables later that day because they still cost the same as before
>increase dollar worth
>get paid $2/hour work for 10 hours
>pay for a bushel of vegetables and later go see a movie for $0.25.
>not hating corporations
Trump has repeatedly said he does business according to the rules. He acknowledges the rules are bad. There is nothing contradictory about his stance.
True, for all these years we've provided a reason for their economy to grow. And as such they've constructed almost their entire lifestyle and country around that. Take away that reason and things will begin to collapse. If processing plants were to be setup over here, Americans would gladly pay more just help our own economy. Tariffs don't even have to be put into place, the people will create their own form of protectionism.
However the ONLY drawback to this situation is finding a skilled and dedicated workforce. Robots are the obvious answer but from my understanding they already do their part. Unless there is going to be another jump in robotics, skilled labor is going to be hard to come by. You could probably get away with working conditions about 2/3rds as bad as over in China but nothing more.
That first part is a great example of why Europe is going to collapse. Denial and rationalization through the roof and maximum indignation at anyone pointing out the multiculturalist utopia is hell. Nothing to see here, move on. Muh altruistic immigrants. Nice way to paint a fictional gilded image of the Muhammadan hordes while smearing native Europeans in the same sentence. Hello, their whole reason for being in Europe is to leech off the system. They have a huge sense of entitlement to EVERYTHING including money and women. The real refugees are in camps in countries close to the war-ravaged areas, not trekking all the way to Northern Europe to "clean the streets". How can you be this stupid? They didn't come here to clean streets or to work their ass off or to give out of the goodness of their heart. They came here to take and exploit, point blank. None of the fictions you share in your circle of brainwashed multiculturalists changes reality. You think people are freely given all the information about immigrant criminality? You only see the tip of the iceberg. They hide it as much as possible because that criminality alone can cause societal collapse if natives find out the true scale of it.
>damage the us standing in the world
Nigga why do you think these people come over ere to do us harm because they hate us! We dicked around in their country making it exponentially more unstable and now we are stuck trying to clean up the mess which unfortunately just cases a chain reaction. Non-interventionalist policies were what we should have been doing but dumbasses like Teddy Roosevelt decided that it would more fun to use his big stick in South America. Continuing such policies till now, CIA and the White House have effectively come to the understanding that the citizens of the world are under the jurisdiction of the US constitution. This line of thinking is wrong. The rise of communism in proxy countries didn't help this trend either.
America is for Americans. Doesn't matter what their skin color or beliefs are. We cannot be the Atlas or Jesus Christ of the world, when we are unable to even take care of our own homeless vets.
Take your globalist free borders shit and go live somewhere your "grand experiment" exists. I'm sticking to what our first President said.
>They didn't come here to clean streets or to work their ass off or to give out of the goodness of their heart. They came here to take and exploit, point blank
That's a funny way to say that all they want to do is make as much money as possible by working as little as possible.
Of course everybody wants that, problem is how much are they willing to go low for it and how much we'll let them do that by not putting regulations
Explain to me why they didn't stop in any other country other than primarily Germany.
>Greece pay debts
>turkey open borders already and Muslim land
>Balkans lol what even happens there these days
>Hungary and Romania get put into camps
>Austria and Czech Republic too small and cold
>Germany largest national economy in the EU
Gee I don't know, where would I go if someone told me the current status of countries that give me free shit. I'll pick the one that has the best economy. Which is exactly what these refugees were told by their human trafficking guards.
>there are autists here that still support the biggest cuck alive
As much as Trump is a good businessman and what not. I get the very strong impression that he doesn;t seem to understand economics very well.
He seems to be very pro tariffs and trade wars and anti international free trade.
>What's that based on exactly?
Time it takes to assemble one
>What do you mean?
You can scale production very quickly in china, hundreds of thousands of workers in weeks instead of many months in the US. Then you have to deal with worker rights and unions as well.
There is also that story about when jobs decided to have glass on the original iphone only weeks before launch, the company he gave the contract to already started building quarters for workers during negotiations. Imagine how long that would have taken in USA.
>Time it takes to assemble one
Why would that be slower in the US? Isn't the cost of labour going to be significant?
>hundreds of thousands of workers in weeks instead of many months in the US. Then you have to deal with worker rights and unions as well.
And won't that weigh significantly on cost as well?
>Why would that be slower in the US? Isn't the cost of labour going to be significant?
Time it takes to assemble one AND labour costs.
You could keep those costs pretty low but then you will have products out of stock forever
And the ones looking to exploit will all fuck back off once they notice the wellfare paradise is not a reality anywhere in Europe, because the system is overstrained now. There is not a country in the EU where the current leading party is not cutting back on welfare/facilities for immigrants. Even Sweden has started to refuse immigrants and do border controls
I implore you to read his book "The Art of The Deal"
In it, he outlines how sensationalizing certain topics can garner greater media attention. That is precisely what he is doing here.
