What are some good cases?
I don't know, but since my thread failed, I'm still looking for a full tower, windowless, preferably black case with USB 3.0 and other assumed modern features.

Are you int muh-minimalism?
Lian-Li or Fractal Design might be up your alley. You could even try some NZXT cases.
Don't care about having a slab?
Get some bequiet Silent Base or NZXT or Corsair shit going on.
>>52496307
Oh, shit, I knew I was forgetting something. It needs an optical drive. Currently planning the HAF X, but it has a window.
Anyone know any silenced cases with motherboard down?
>>52496282
an r5 dumbass
>>52496946
as in an inverted motherboard or a motherboard lying horizontal

Horizontal

R5 have two slots of optical drives, need to open the front to access it but I doubt you will use it very often

I have two problems. I like to see my optical drive slots(e.g. Inspiron 570 case), and I don't like minimalist.
>>52497078
>not minimalist
>no window
Pick one
>>52497075
Ew.
>>52497099
But I have an ugly meme fan. Shoul I just go back to a GTX H100i?
>>52495746
I've got this one. Really love it, but if space is an issue it may not be the best choice.
i want a stackable mini-itx case that i can fit a huge gigabyte g1 970 inside. Also if it has more than a few 3.5" slots that would be cool.
im gonna put my main rig in one and put a server in another.
Any Suggestions?
>>52495746
This case looks like a fucking portable heater. It looks ridiculous.
>>52497033
haf XB for full size, or a rackmount.
Most horizontal layouts are mini itx, sorry
>>52495746
That case is stupid and overpriced, bulky for an ITX solution and not even your best option for a gaming PC with a handle

any specific model recommendations for an mATX?
Air cooling and 1 gpu
I'm not planning on custom watercooling. Should I get the Define R5 or Define S?

Antec 900

thermaltake has such an obnoxious grill and an ugly logo.
Those cases also look really cheap IRL.
This is my case. It holds the shit I need it to hold.
Raijentek makes pretty sweet cases
>tfw fell for the 200R meme
I don't even need optical drives
>>52497126
I got the mATX version. Looks fucking cool.
I failed to realize how wide it was, so it takes up the same amount of space on my desk as my old Spec-01.
>>52497121
sounds to me like you're a little whiny bitch
>>52501134
when the fuck is this thing coming out
-Rosewill ranger m
For a cheap build (Les than 350) this is my case.
People WILL hate on it. But it looks fantastic holds my shit and costs about $30 while providing excellent airflow.
Kiss my cheapskate ass
>>52501134
What is this? I need and want it. Next build will be in that.
>>52501390
>>52501441
>>52501134
that looks nice
>>52501485
>$200
God fucking damnit

Small production run + 3M riser cable + All Aluminum
>>52495746
Is there any advantage other than muh aesthetics muh minimalism to owning a smaller case as opposed to a larger one?
Or, put another way, are there any raw advantages to the large case outside of ventilation and cramped components, if you're not going to be doing any sort of dual GPU card setup?
>>52500928
shitty, loud, dust collector
>>52501007
Enjoying the fucked USB panel? I am.
Enthoo Pro, simple design, good cable management, comes in window/windowless. It may be a full tower but I never move my computer anyway and I have the room to accommodate it. Never understood why people insist the computer be on top of the desk, just get good dust filters and you are set
ive had this for years and its been good to me
>>52501105
That's why the last thread failed
>>52500960
oh god so glad some else mentioned logos, logos alone kill so many otherwise aesthetic items especially cases.
>>52496282
Phanteks Enthoo Pro. I believe its got an windowless option.
>>52499075
Thats disgusting
Guess I will just get a few sticks to keep the sag at bay
Fractal Design just released Define Nano S, mini tower version of the Define S.
http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define-series/define-nano-s
I did a build with a friend of mine in the Define S, and it was overall pretty great. The front panel USB ports were really shitty, though, and on a mid tower case there should really be four ports anyway.
If they've improved the front USB ports this could be a really solid Micro ATX / Mini ITX case.
I've been using a Cooler Master HAF XB for years now. No problems at all.
