That's about it senpai. My Laptop is running Arch, my desktop is dual booting (Need them games bruh). I avoid botnets when possible. I install linux for people, but only after I've explained to them how they won't be able to use photoshop or most games.

These two things are related. Just imagine open source being a dish with it's recipe online and proprietary as dish with a secret recipe. You don't know if that proprietary food contains peanuts, poison or GPS tracking devices. With the open source shit you can at least dissect the recipe and contribute, fork, copy, print, produce the recipe. Also you can go to boards telling how their proprietary food contains GMO's that it's not healthy etc. and that your open source food is better since professional chefs all over the world have contributed to the recipe.
