El Capitan is probably a smoother user experience overall, but some of their limiting design decisions infuriate me. It's like OSX intentionally gets in my way sometimes.

I don't like OSX's interface design. I forced myself to use it exclusively for 2 weeks and I still hate it. The OS behind the interface is decent, but I can't ignore how much I hate the dock and Mission Control. Whenever I want to change something, it feels like Apple is telling me that I'm wrong and that their way is better. If I go on any internet forum, Apple fanboys tell me the same thing (on reddit you'll just get downvoted for any criticism of OSX).

Windows 10 is a botnet and I feel vulnerable every time I use it. Now I only use it for games, I don't even install normal applications on it anymore.

Luckily we live in a world of choices and alternatives like GNU/Linux and FreeBSD exist.

OS X doesn't play well with my ultrawide monitor. There's no font scaling that's not utterly blurry and big so everything is small as fuck on 2560x1080.

I can't be bothered to install it on my PC though, it probably won't even work.

I dual boot a hackintosh and windows 7.

I can't bring myself to upgrade to win 10 due to privacy concerns and all. All of the third party spy blocking apps don't seem to inform what it is they are blocking. It's like win 10 is a black box. And I'm not a fan of the tiled start menu and settings app.

I have a few issues with Yosemite such as installing 3rd party software to read my NTFS data drives, getting homebrew to work properly by giving myself access to a number of directories, installing smoothmouse to get rid of OSXs horrible mouse acceleration, and getting my amd r7 370 to work without locking the system.

Other than that, OSX is by far superior by simply having a usable terminal for coding. It is annoying that you can't minimize windows by clicking on the dock icon. Font rendering is great. My time might have been better spent installing Linux Mint since so many hours went to learning and getting OSX tuned to my liking.

The question you want to ask is whether one would rather use Win 10 or buy an Apple computer, in which case i would rather go with Win 10. Both Apple and Microshit are equally bad in spying and security (last i've seen the amount of reported security holes on Apple shit on that security site).

Better touch tool can send windows to workspaces and change workspaces with hotkeys.

Voila, keyboard based launcher + some keyboard hotkeys for window opening and management.
There is some basic tiling functionality with better touch tool as well, but i just use the edge snapping.
