Now you know it's failing and, with all data still intact (bad sectors have been reallocated) you can migrate your shit to another disk. SSDs on the other hand usually suffer sudden death where it's all dead at once.

Well you had bad luck early in the hdds life, thats when you should be aware the most. Happens with every product including ssds. My seagate hard drives have been running without issues for 30k and 25k hours.
My external anime archive seems good, used 1.65 of 2TB so far.
