TLDR: is there a way to switch the single jack on my computer from a microphone back to a headphone?
I'm not sure if this is the right board to post it in but I need help with my computer. Basically for some reason my computer only has one jack, and I've been using it for headphones because thats what its for I guess but for no reason, when I plug my headphones in now it thinks its a microphone and it wont play anything through the speakers. So I can only use one pair of headphones, which is one that has speakers built into it but its annoying becuase whenever I move my head and I"m recording something it makes like muffly noises from the headphones rubbing against my hair.
I have a Toshiba Satellite if that helps. I don't know much about computers so sorry if this is super stupid.

try a different pair of headphones. if the situation improves, your original headphones are faulty, most likely the plug. if not, the the jack in your laptop is screwed up and will need to be replaced.
