>there are people in the year 2016 that are buying AMD cpus
FOR
WHAT
PURPOSE
>>52454261
It says why right there on the box, you fucking retard: to "unlock supremacy."
The same reason people buy GTX 970's.
>>52454261
Because they are superior to you. Now go cry in the corner. Maybe kill yourself.
Waiting for Zen
>>52454261
I bought my FX-8320 because statistically it was on par with one of mid-tier i5's yet costs half of its price.
Not everyone plays video games all day long. For them an APU is more than enough for Microsoft word and Facebook. Cheaper too.
Now with Zen coming out, it will literally make no sense to choose intel anymore especially for gaymers.
The only thing you can't do with AMD is play the absolute most cutting edge just-came-out-yesterday games at high quality setting. And can't encode 4k video. And it's way cheaper. That's about it.

now please fuck off
>>52454917
>And can't encode 4k video.
Are you retarded? Any FX processor or A8 APU will encode 4K video just fine.
>>52454917
>The only thing you can't do with AMD is play the absolute most cutting edge just-came-out-yesterday games at high quality setting.
You can. You sound underage.
Because I cannot get a compatible Intel mobo that isn't DOA. Literally the past three have been dead. So I decided to keep my AMD processor.
Because they're good value for money when you pair them with an NVIDIA GPU.
The only reason people buy anything made by AMD is because they're poor.

>>52454261
I bought the 8350 over 3 years ago at this point, I'm surprised it's still relevant enough that people still use it for powerful machines.
>>52454917
/v/ is missing you.
>>52454261
The ethical reasons are enough for me not to buy Intel. They did and still does a lot of bad shit.
Educate yourselves anons

>FOR WHAT PURPOSE
cpu/mobo/gpu combo comes out cheaper, cheap enough that I can use the money saved up for an SSD, which makes the real difference.
And the internal gpu is sufficient for a lot of games. It won't run Crysis at 60fps on ultra, but it sure as hell will get way better frames than any Intel gpu of the same price range.

Enjoy your impeding DRM built in to the CPU, privacy is dead on all new CPUs in a few years.

>>52455407
you fucked up you're photoshop
Because AMD is (marginally) less hostile to free software.

your poorly written video games are not the only way of utilizing cpu, you know

Holy shit. Im glad that i bought a laptop with a broadwell CPU.
>>52454261
Does a current gen AMD CPU (bulldozer?) consume more energy than a Intel CPU from the same generation? How do they really differ ? (Probably belongs more to a sat thread but since this one is already up...)
>>52456394
yes, visheras are way less efficient than intels.
>>52456097
I'm supposed to believe this?
>>52454261
Because you need to heat your room aswell
>>52455569
heh
>Fx 8320
>just upgraded to a gtx 970 from a 650ti boost
I'm a walking meme aren't I?
>>52457006
That cpu best be clocked up.
>>52454261
less of botnet
>>52456697
>GTX 960
>Ultra 1080p
There is a serious GPU bottleneck here.
