I never actually bothered to use any of the required textbooks for any of my classes. The annoying thing is when professors make us buy "readers" which are just a collection of a bunch of papers that we have to buy from a print shop.

worst case, try finding it on some site like amazon to rent either physically or digitally. digitally is what I had to do once from amazon, and I just used some program to remove the DRM or whatever cheap shit they try to use to copyright knowledge. i chose the cheapest and shortest renting period and kept the book. better yet, you could start a torrent of it to help others.

It's not for CS courses, it's for IT courses when you have to access various proprietary labs or complicated virtual network labs for pen-testing and such.
